I was recently a groomsman at a wedding and had to go to S&S Tuxedos for the tux and let me tell you, nothing but an awful experience. The man working there was very rude and didn't seem like he wanted to be there at all. My shirt was far too tight around the arms and he claimed they didn't make shirts for men that go to the gym. He then gave me a shirt that could've been a dress on me and said that was all he had. Then I told him that my pants seemed just a little too long and I preferred them to be a little shorter. He told me that the suspenders would pick them up and not to worry about it (the suspenders did absolutely nothing as expected). I was very uncomfortable all night but had no choice at this point. Do not recommend going here for your tux unless you want to run into issues on an important day. read more

Very disappointed in the customer service and quality of tuxedo. I rented from this location for a wedding. Halfway through the wedding the button popped off, the Seam of jacket was splitting. Another groomsman in the party had a hole in his pants. These were all issues that could have been avoided if the quality of tux's were checked prior. I addressed these issues to the owner when I returned the suit. His remarks were "you're all set". No apology or any kind of compensation. There was no willingness to try and fix the issue. After this came highly recommended I will going forward never return or recommend. It's the simplest kind of customer service that anyone would ask for that I did not receive. If I can give more than 5 stars I would. My teenage daughter just got a job at a catering hall. She is young and broke and needed a bow tie, tuxedo pants and a vest. The kid doesn't have much money and needed these clothes for her uniform so she can start her new job. We had no idea where we were going to get the clothing she needed. We called uniform stores, but all they had was scrubs or police and firemen uniforms. We were having a dilemma and needed her uniform by the next day with short notice. I found S&S Tuxedos online, which was the closest Tuxedo shop to my home and figured my daughter was going to get charged a small fortune. Let's face it, formal wear is usually expensive. To my delight, a really kind man named Ken answered the phone and said no problem. He quoted great, affordable prices over the phone and I sent my daughter there. Not only did he spend time measuring her and making sure the clothes fit her properly, he even hemmed her pants for her! WOW! How nice was that of him?! He even told her how to properly iron the clothes and wash and care for them. Ken was really busy running around, yet he made sure to take a lot of time to care for my daughter's needs and treated her very kindly. I highly recommend this place. Ken is good people! read more

My name is Tommy, I didn't want to make a Yelp account but I had to write a review for the Gentleman who owns S&S Tuxedo. From the minute I walked in I was treated professionally and had every question and concern answered. I haven't rented a tux since my high school prom but he made it very easy with plenty of options to choose from. Everything was on time and ready for pick up and he was even nice enough to throw in a free pair of shoes. He was smart enough to know I needed a pair too because I thought the pair I had was fine ( I was wrong). Not only did everything fit perfectly when I picked it up, but I was 2 days late to drop it off and there was no extra charge. Very understanding. I have never been more comfortable in any suit or tux I've ever worn and had such a good time and in great fitting tux. HE EVEN RENTS SUITS!! I'd RECOMMEND this place to EVERYONE! read more

Recently Saint Edward the Confessor school in Syosset hosted an Awards and Fashion Show event at Westbury Manor. I used this store b/c the wedding party chose them. Owner John is very nice. Employee Kevin is a jerk. The jacket button fell off during the reception. The best man had the same issue. I bobby pinned mine on, and the pin broke. I was stabbed many times and became attached to my elderly cousin. This shop failed in their job by delivering a $200 tuxedo in this condition. several groomsmen had torn shirts and a poor fit. I returned the tux and mentioned that the jacket button had fallen off and was in the accessory bag. I then said it was an inconvenience. Kevin said, "have a nice day" So cold, No common courtesy. I would not have written this if Kevin said "sorry that happened" I called to inform the owner of my experience, and Kevin answered the phone. He is a cocky s.o.b., and he asked me if I was the groom. I said no. He then said I was a Do*che and hung up. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. Not happy about it, but I had a black tie wedding to go to 3 weeks ago on a Saturday. On Wednesday my wife and I went to S & S Tuxedo and the owner John helped us. Really nice guy who took his time with us and explained what I should and should not wear. Having a "Dad Bod", getting dressed is not my thing anymore. John fitted me and on Friday I went back and my tux was ready to be tried on. John nailed the measurements on the head. Everything fit perfectly--no alterations needed. I felt that he cared more about how I looked then I did. Which shows he really cares about his customers. We really were so impressed we sent my best friend in this week since he has a black tie wedding tomorrow. The prices are outrageous and absolute ripe off!! A tuxedo rental for a kid is $243! Same price for adult rentals.. I recently needed to rent a tux for my daughter's wedding. The groom sent me Men's Warehouse. Luckily they didn't have a tux that fit me because as a result I found S & S tuxedos. These guys were spot on perfect. First they recommended a different color for me. Then they found a tux that fit me perfectly. And when I couldn't decide on a vest color, they gave me both colors I was looking at and told me to have my daughter pick. All this and they were 30% cheaper than Men's Warehouse. S & S Tuxedos did a wonderful thing. They donated a number of tuxedos for a fund raiser for the Plainview Jewish Center. This would have cost the temple a great deal of money, and would cut severely into this event. Well, not only did S&S do this, but they handled every request that was made along the way.
