Fabulous work done by Steve , and his assistant, Martin, on installing complicated mosaics in a bedroom. Despite our old house's crooked ceiling, Steve and Martin were able to install a wrap around mosaic frieze to look perfectly straight. Also they installed a large round mosaic on one of the walls. The entire process as very professional and easy- from the assessment, to the appointment the next week, and the price was much more reasonable than the other estimates we received. read more

We had a leak in the kitchen ceiling on the first floor. Steve showed up the same day to diagnose the leak. He found the leak within few minutes and and provided couple of options. We asked him to send us the estimates for the options and the next day he sent us the estimates. He also told us what to do about the leak while we are deciding on the options. We sat on the options for a week while my husband shopped around but ultimate I decided to go with Steve because 1) he did not propose any unnecessary work, 2) he gave practical and honest advice, 3) he was not pushy at all, and 4) he showed up on time to complete the project. Over the summer i contacted a few companies and handymen to upgrade/fix a few items at my moms house, before listing it on the market. I wanted to replace the vanity, cabinet, lighting and flooring in the main bath, update vanity and lights in second bath along with several other projects. Steve was the most resonable and honest as i was very frank with what i wanted done and wasnt looking to spend thousands, nor interested in upgrading to top of the line products. He even suggested putting it out as is, which i too had considered, but he was agreeable to do the work also if i wanted to go that route. Happy I finally found a true handyman. Steve is a hard worker, straightforward with scheduling and estimates, and very reliable. So far I've had him fix some toilets, a messed up washer/dryer connection, and take out half a wall to open my kitchen to my living room. Each job was done quickly, very reasonably priced, and of high quality. I also appreciate that if he doesn't know how to do something, he tells you straight up. I asked about some plumbing and electrical work and he didn't know how to do it. He said so and then provided referrals to people he goes to for help. If I trust Steve, I will trust his referrals. I needed some drywall done after a plumber left us with a big hole in the wall installing some new prv piping. This resulted in needing two different access points to the valves. I wasn't sure how this could be done without having a huge cover which I did not want. Steve came out quickly, gave us an estimate which was quite reasonable. He showed up on time did a great job and we couldn't be happier. He insulated the new piping and installed a reasonable size access door that I am quite happy with. It is much better than what was there before. He was very knowledgeable and helpful answering our questions about other problems in the house. He is definitely going to be our go to man for repairs. BAD quality work, IRresponsible, Dishonest .... zero star. I hired Steve to do some repair work at home after I read the good reviews here. I doubt how many of these are from customers. The work was supposed to be done in 2 days. On the second day during noontime, he said he had another work needed to go to and left things half-done. One good ceiling fan/light was broken after he tried and failed to install a remote control to it. After several days he came to continue and left again at noontime without finishing his work saying that his son needed him. Then he told me he had to charge more to finish. Days later he came to finish the work which is VERY bad quality. I have to sand the wood filler and do the final paint myself. Every time he came I had to clean up behind him. He did damages to my wall when moving things around. He didn't touch up the wall paint after he installed new fixtures. He said that he had to pay to throw the replaced old room door to the junkyard and pursueded me to keep it. We later took it to the junkyard and paid nothing. read more

I was looking for a handyman to re-caulk my bottom 4 sides of shower floor. My shower floor white caulks were beginning to wear out. I called up several handyman and this one gave a lowest estimate of $100 so I went with this one. I was expecting them to do just the bottom shower floor. Steve sent his man Hugo to do the work. Steve asked me what color for caulk, white or clear, and I said white because the whole shower had white caulks and it looked better. I was glad he asked. After Hugo finished the work, he didn't use regular caulk, he used almond silicone caulk! And Hugo not only did the shower floor but caulked the whole shower with almond silicone! I now have almond on my whole shower instead of white! Hugo seems to do a very good job but I'm wondering why they did not follow my request to re-caulk just the bottom floor with white caulk. I'm a little disappointed but fortunately they did not add extra charge to the work which is okay with me. It takes time to get used to almond. Also Steve said silicone based caulk is waterproof which is good. I hope this silicone based caulk lasts a long time. I think this handyman needs to communicate more before they begin the work, like changing caulk's color or re-caulk other parts of shower or silicone caulk is being used and why. read more

Thank goodness I found those 2 5-star reviews for Steve here on Yelp and decided to give him a call. Other contractors I contacted wouldn't take the job because they were "too busy for a small job" like mine. The trim above our garage door was falling off and there was some wood rot that needed repair along the sliding door on our back deck. I called Steve on a Friday, he came out to look at it on Saturday and the work was done by Monday for a reasonable price. Most importantly, the work is excellent and I didn't have to take any more time off of work trying to coordinate with secretaries and administrators.
