Had a windshield replaced here at an affordable price. Somehow there was water leaking in from…read moresomewhere along the windshield. Also, the inside doorway panel was not installed back appropriately. This leak was causing my car electrical problems because water was getting under the dashboard and getting the fuses and cables. I called the business and a nice lady was understanding and set up an appointment for me to bring in the car to get it checked out. I show up early in the morning and the guy right off the bat was defensive, but agreed to check my windshield since it had been less than a year since the windshield was replaced. This guy took a hose and started spraying the windshield, but didn't install the door seal correctly so a lot of water made its way inside the car. At this point I'm not able to tell where the windshield is leaking because there's water inside everywhere. I leave this place and call a mobile window repair the next day and they're able to find the leak within 5 minutes by just using a water bottle and going around the perimeter of the windshield. Finally the leak was found and repaired within 30 minutes. The price of All Glass is good, but the integrity of the guy running this place unfortunately isn't.

Again, gorgeous. Finally, I needed a stand for a Javanese mask my brother sent me from Thailand. Jesus had some leftover Ipe from another job and from that he constructed the perfect stand for it, a dark, lustrous wood that matched the color of the mask. We were doing a full remodel and I really wanted the look of a sleek floating vanity cabinet - after looking everywhere, I knew I had to have one custom made. Of course I was worried about the price. Well, I got lucky. After almost going with home depot, I found Jesus and the price was actually comparable. All I had for a plan was a drawing of a floating rectangle with some drawers, and some pictures I had from the internet. I met Jesus at his shop - which, well, isn't in the best neighborhood - but whatever - it's a wood-shop. (made me feel all edgy driving into Richmond :) The point is that Jesus was very welcoming and easy to work with. Gave me full control of whatever wood choice I wanted. Initially I was thinking of some other type of wood, I forget the name, but then I saw a slab of walnut laying against one of the walls and fell in love with it. I asked if I could change my mind and go with the walnut, and he was just like, "sure, whatever you want." I then also asked if he could build some floating shelves and a tub curtain out of the same wood, and again, his response was just as easy going and positive. He actually ended making the tub curtain out of the exact piece of walnut that I initially fell in love with - which has an awesome pattern. Anyway, he's a great guy. does great work. product looks great and is very solid. He even came to my house after the vanity was installed to drill the holes and put in the handles himself. We were lucky enough to get him to do our kitchen remodel, which was the 4th major construction project we've done on our 100+ year old home. Mike is a nice guy, very professional, personable, honest, good communicator, his crew shows up every single day, they do high-end work, they are careful of your home, they are organized, they stay on budget. Mike talks to you about problems only after he has worked out a couple of options for solutions, he knows what is code and what is not, he is flexible, his projects come in on budget and on time. He will not be your lowest bid, but at the end of the day, we feel like we absolutely got value for the cost of the job. Absolutely a gem, if you can get on his calendar. She keeps the communication lines open and is efficient and effective with the billing. A smooth operation. His work has won awards in Alameda. I have used him for electrical repair and updating. The custom kitchen and bathroom cabinetry provided by this firm was the most expensive component in the scope of work. Due to subpar quality and a low sense of value, the results are unsatisfactory. Since a full description of the issues and numerous examples would result in a lengthy post, a summary of the problematic areas include: - Poor fabrication and workmanship - Mediocre at best materials and hardware - Failure to follow the design drawings - Faulty installation and messy site etiquette - Incorrect directives to other subcontractors - Five months late after a contracted completion date reaping havoc on the construction schedule - Lackluster customer service We were very clear at the start of the engagement we wanted the cabinetry to be functional, durable, and long-lasting. Instead, we have to live with seeing things that were not part of the design, we have lost a significant amount of storage space based on fabrication decisions by this firm that were not presented to us for approval, there is a consistent need to make spot adjustments and fixes, and we are almost living on egg shells in the effort to prolong the life of the cabinetry. It became more and more evident once the cabinets started to arrive and the installation began all of the swagger, stories, promises, and buying into our vision in the beginning of the engagement was merely a charade. This firm may be good at building stationary things like tables, shelving units, and wall panels but for cabinetry that has to endure daily use as well as having aesthetic appeal they came up short especially for a hefty amount of money.
