I cannot speak about their food because I never receive my order after waiting an hour. What I can say is the customer service is trash. There is no communication between the front of the house and the kitchen. I came back in after waiting 30 minutes to verify if they had the correct phone number, and I was told "yes," and it will be up soon. I come back after waiting another 30 minutes and find out the kitchen/cook never received my order. I wondered why my order was taking so long; I saw people who ordered after me received their lamb dinners, chicken dinner, etc., all I ordered was Jerk Paste and Jerk rolls. I hate that we have such bad service in our neighborhoods. Nevertheless, I will take my business elsewhere and persuade others to do the same. I can't wait until they open up The Licking Chicago on Stoney. :( read more

I come to this restaurant at least 3 or 4 times out of the month and when I say I've never encountered such awesome energy. The cashier was very patient and extremely kind to me she listened to my order and my life problems, she also had some great recommendations as far as food to try becabuse always get the same thing. Ambiance: small spot inside and BYOB. Not the most comfortable dine in experience but if you want to chill and get some Good food this is the place. The food was Really good! Found a wine tasting on FB for the spirits liquor store next door, and one of the owners of the liquor store took me next door to meet the ower of the restaurant. So glad that I decided to go back and grab a meal. The lamb chops (tender) and fresh mashed potatoes are delicious. I cleaned the lamb chops bone, nothing left. I'll be going back to try the rest of the menu. And.....I live on the north side of Chicago. This plate of food made it north, and still is delicious. Tried the jerk lamb chops. I thought the food was excellent. Only complaint was dinner only came with 2 chops I was definitely expecting 4 chops for $25 but wouldn't have had a problem with 3. However the constant lack of proper customer service really sours the experience for me. First you don't answer the phone so I can call in my order. Second, when I go in to order the person at the register is Clueless about what is on the menu. Third when I get my chicken taco dinner home, its not cooked the same as when I ordered it a few weeks ago. I paid $15 for tacos and i can get the same or better at a Mexican restaurant for less.. This was my first experience at the establishment & I thoroughly enjoyed it. While entering I was greeted with warmth & a good atmosphere. Brionna who took our order was extremely welcoming & personable. Though I was hesitant to drift from my comfort food such as a burger or tacos. Brionna challenged me to indulge in the dinner options after almost leaning to the burger I decided to go for the steak. After eating the meal, I can say that this establishments is legit. The steak, loaded mash potatoes, & asparagus were cooked immaculately. After having a taste of the food, I could not follow my first thought to wait until i got home because the food was too good. Ordered through Grubhub and I must say the food was really good. The lobster tail was cooked perfectly (which pleasantly surprised me). The Alfredo was pretty good, but the pasta was a bit overcooked for my liking. Overall the food was well made and fresh, and if I'm in the mood, I would definitely order again. I wish they would expand their offerings, perhaps grilled chicken breast or an additional pasta on the menu. Either way, it's definitely worth trying. read more

I'd love to give this place five stars based off of taste alone but I can't. I placed a catering order here a few weeks ago for my birthday: a small pan of macaroni, small pan of sweet potatoes, a small pan of wings, and an individual order of veggie stir fry. Total was about $155. My first problem is they wouldn't allow me to place the order over the phone, even tho I was willing to pay in full. The catering menu tells you to call in 24-48 hours with at least half your deposit. When I did this, no one knew what to do and when I talked to a manager, she was kind of nasty. She was supposed to give me a call back after talking to her boss but never did. So that night at 10pm, I went in person to place my catering order which was so inconvenient for me. I also had to pay the full price, not half as the catering menu stated. Fast forward to the day I'm supposed to get my food. Even tho my order was paid for in full and I was willing to pay whatever delivery price there was, they wouldn't deliver my order. This was another major inconvenience. At this point I was embarrassed because I'd place such a big order and still couldn't get better customer service. I used to order from this place 3-4 times a week and really wanted to support because I knew it was black owned but I can't support bad service. Food is always exceptional but I wish they'd get some better people working in there. read more

Disappointing dine-in service. Dobt waste your time dining-in please order your food to go. I'm not sure if this is glorified take out or poorly serviced dine-in. The meals range from $15-$60 to think I've paid for steak or lobster tail and it's served in a styrofoam container and I'm given plastic silverware is unacceptable (How does one cut steak with a case knife) We we're also asked to pay for our food before we were actually served, of course we questioned the policy and the waitress response was this is customary which would be acceptable for take-out but again we were dinning in. The food was good; however our party was NOT served at the same time, some individuals in our party were done with their entire meal before others were served. Some individuals received cold meals; we requested the food to be reheated and eventually has to place a totally separate order. The waitress did t know who ordered which meal which led to her and other staff members coming to our area and literally yelling our individual orders and we had to guess/assume which one was ours.
