If you have scrap metal of any kind they will take it! Don't send it to the landfill. They are on the up and up by taking ID and a fingerprint. You might have to wait 3 days for a background check, but you will be paid. read more

This is one of the locations to scrap a car after getting approval from the BAR. Very simple process although there is a bit of a wait. I wasn't sure about the process, but the workers there were very helpful in directing me where to go. After dropping the car off on the right side, go to the far left side to get payment. read more

The BAR has contracted auto dismantlers and SA Recycling is one of the main, if not the main one in the heart of Los Angeles. There are different locations across Southern California, but I decided to go to SA Recycling to retire my 35+ vehicle, thank you, Toyota Cressida, for all your years of service! I called ahead of time to ask if they needed appointments for the BAR Program and the representative said no appointment was needed and it sounded fairly easy. However, when I actually went, it was incredibly confusing. I needed to figure out what to do. There were two entrances and I went to the entrance on the left. I had no clue where to park and it seem like there was a random row of cars, some of which were parked in two stalls. Basically, I was asking around. I thought there was going to be an office where I would submit the paperwork. I went to one of the kiosks and the representative told me I had to wait in line. It was so chaotic and loud, we had to exit again and wait in a very long line. Then when it was finally our turn, the rep was very short and unclear. He told us to go over there, so we parked over on the side and then he said to come back. And then we came back. There was no sense of clear directions, I didn't understand why we had to drive back and forth to the kiosk. So in any case, I wish there were clear signs or instructions because I had no clue what to do. Had I known it was going to be this confusing, I would have asked the representative on the phone what the actual process is. I should have also read the Yelp reviews before coming because some of them had very helpful information. So for those of you coming for the BAR Program, there are three steps: *STEP ONE: Wait in the line via the entrance to the right and then you will drop off your paperwork at the kiosk. Then after that is done, you go park your car to the side. *STEP TWO: You go on the other side of the kiosk to get your paperwork. *STEP THREE: You go around the corner to turn in your paperwork. In any case, it's a great BAR program, but the SA Recycling customer service is really varied. However, the rep at the Step 3 Kiosk was great. Today I talked to a lady named Maria hoping to take my cars there to scrap. I asked for information about how their process works and she put me on hold to talk to their service team. Nothing out of the ordinary. However, as soon as she came back she immediately yelled at me over the phone about what the process is like and that's that. She proceeded to hang up on me after that and after calling again to ask for her supervisor she abruptly hung up AGAIN. Twice in a row. If you want to go to a recycling service with great customer support DO NOT COME HERE. They won't help you answer your questions and I guarantee they wouldn't treat you well. Retired a 20 year old car. Staff was friendly but hard to hear with the environment and sounds of cars and forklifts and trucks all around. There was a 3 step process to retire our car and missed step 2 due to the noise and confusion. Additional displays of information would help avoid confusion as we weren't the ones that day to miss step 2. Super Tip: There's two entrances from the street but really the second entrance is the exist. They should highlight that to prevent potential accidents. read more

I called on a Friday at 2 PM the guy was nice enough I told him I was in santa Monic a with my truck full of metal and asked how close is their nearest location to my home. he replied 13 miles both ofthem. I said Okay I'm leaving now. . It took me an hour to get there with traffic when I got there the scales were closed. I had 3000 pounds of metal in my truck and was going to have to go back home full, because the idiot on the phone neglected to inform me that they close at 2 pm. I fortunately saw the scrap yard next to them Central Metal and they took the metal and paid me well for it Don't use SA go to CM they are better, don't have idiots working for them. read more

Went to recycle and Old car and must say Fast and super easy proses got my 1,500 bucks in less then 15 minutes .

First off, when you finish weighing at the scale you have to either go left or right depending on what your there to recycle. Go right, you will meet the top notch SA employee Juan. Juan really helped me out since I am a new driver and am learning my ways around... So, SA is the Godfather of all recycling. What added insult to injury is that when I called, the individual who answered the phone was rude, abrupt, abrasive and not concilitatory in the least bit. Scheduled three separate appointments with them, all no-shows with no real explanation. I would have given zero stars if I could have. These people are the absolute rudest people I've ever encounter in a professional setting. On a telephone call with SA Recycling a female employee, who wouldn't give up here name, after she "tisked" at me & made serveral rude comments concerning our phone connection,, which was perfectly fine, she could hear me and I could hear her,, she just kept rudely repeating information I didn't need in an agressive manner,, and when I asked to speak to a supervisor,, she snapped and said I couldn't speak with her for 30 minutes and hung up. I called back got a different person on the telephone and was transferred to the supervisor shortly there after, no 30 mins,, but unfortunately I was disappointed again and got a similar attitude from the "Supervisor" she offered me a pick up time for my vehicle 10 days from now and said the one I was previously quoted was no longer available.... seems fishy, shady operation,, this place sucks. read more
