On Register 1 , Cashier was rude... 3/15/22 around 4:22pm I went in to purchase a calculator for my accounting class. Im a really big fan of pink so I was looking for good pink calculator. The cashier proceed to ask questions of what kind of calculator I wanted and I responded just wanted something basic and I asked if she could show me what they had at the front. With a very annoyed tone she said she would "have to bring everything out " if that was the case, then I dont see whats problem with that, just your job and show me what you have! At last when I wanted to pay my items she sees me trying to use apple pay to pay for my things and doesnt mention that I need to choose how I want my reciept just lets me hold the phone in the air without saying anything This is why I would rather shop online than to deal with rude cashiers at the store! read more

I was on my way to dinner with my Mom, brothers + family, and cousin + family and thought I drop off my Amazon returns at Staples prior to arrival. It was either going to be at the Pasadena Staples location on Colorado Blvd or the one in Monterey Park on Atlantic Blvd. Well, since I have already tried the Pasadena location, why not try the Monterey Park location so here I am. Got here around 6:30 PMish. Not many people in the store. Upon entry, I saw signs to direct me to the Shipping Services area which was good. At the time, I didn't have my return emails ready for scanning. I asked the staff member to give me a few mins. She said okay and then walked away to do other tasks. Once I found my emails, she came back. Scanning was quick and easy. Funny, while the staff member was helping me, she also scanned the next person's stuff, too, which I found odd. Wouldn't you think they should have finished helping one customer and then help the next customer??? Maybe they were muli-tasking LOL. Anyway, it didn't bother me... just thought it was different. Btw, they still have the spend $30 get $10 off deal when you return your Amazon items at Staples. My visit was short as usual, but I did peruse around to see if they had the eco meal containers in stock... they didn't. Funny, I have never driven further south on Atlantic Blvd towards the 60 Fwy. Went in to this Store for an Amazon return at 10 am on a Monday. There was one employee assisting with shopping services, and he had to walk away to help another employee. There were two people in front of me (one at the register already) and I waited 15 minutes. I had somewhere to be so I decided to leave the store. When I was walking out, I noticed all the employees were helping other customers with the exception of one at a register. I started to ask if anyone else was available for assistance but he just ignored me so I walked out. Disappointed that Amazon would start using the store for returns when it seems they could barely handle the or own customers. I'm assuming Amazon returns is a great way to bring business to stores and sadly? The kohls experience is much better/faster/efficient. I hope they catch up soon! read more

I came to this Staples location for my TSA PreCheck appointment and arrived just 3-5 minutes late. Helen/Ellen, the employee at the counter, refused to help me. While I understand that rules are rules, she was extremely rude in how she handled the situation. Instead of politely explaining the policy or offering guidance to reschedule, she was dismissive and unprofessional. Her own words: "You chose this time for the appointment. If you want to wait to see if the next person doesn't show up I can take you. After that, I have appointments and I take lunch until 11:30" Tip for others: Make sure to arrive early -- there are absolutely no accommodations if you're even a few minutes late, and unfortunately, the staff (Helen/Ellen in particular) is not friendly about it. read more

Some time the wait can be long depending if there are appointments scheduled ahead of time. Customers with appointments get priority! UPS shipping is very convenient. I needed to return an item for repair via UPS and remembered that Staples partnered with UPS to provide convenient returns for Amazon. The item I needed to ship was quite large and I didn't have a spare box lying around my house that would fit it, so I checked the UPS store to see how much it would cost to purchase a 16x12x10 box and it would have been about $20. At Staples, I only paid $2 for the same size box. Definitely a great deal. The UPS assistant was very nice and helpful. She allowed me to demo several boxes and see if my item would fit before purchasing the box. Luckily, we found the perfect size. I had to make several runs back to my car to get my item and bubble wrap and she was very patient. Upon checkout, I received a Staples coupon for $10 off a $30 purchase. Other than the convenient and friendly service from UPS, I always recycle my drained batteries or unwanted electronics at this location. They allow me to accumulate points for recycling on the Staples app, but unfortunately, the app doesn't have the best UI, so I don't really use it. read more

Terrible service at this store, specifically the UPS Shipping and Drop Off section. Amazon recently partnered up with them for returns, but I don't think this team was ready for it yet. I had never experienced such blatantly awful customer service while processing a return anywhere else (Kohl's, Petco, UPS Store), regardless of the size of the return, as I have here. I was returning 24 items and Francisco very openly displayed his irritation about having to do his job today. He audibly sighed, grunted, and went so far as to question whether I genuinely disliked any of the items. I find it unnecessary for a Staples employee to pry into the details of a return when the reasons are clearly outlined in the Amazon app. He even proceeded to share that what he really wants to do is be a nurse, this is just for now. Okay, good for him, but for now this is his job. I don't necessarily expect friendliness, I know it's never genuine when you have to be at work, especially on a Sunday. I get it, believe me. I simply expected the transaction to proceed without him being so unprofessional about it, making the process unpleasant for both of us. I had never experienced this anywhere else. The employee could think what they want, but they never betray signs of any displeasure, they just scan away with a straight face, as it should be because it's their job today. I even purposely picked today to go because I figured it would be slow on a Sunday. I guess I cut into his free time. Good luck with nursing with that attitude, that is way harder than just scanning a bunch of packages and he doesn't seem to know how to hide his emotions when he doesn't like parts of his job. read more

Finally decided to get off my butt and get my COVID vaccination card laminated. So I decided to call Office Depots near me to inquire about it before hand. First call said their store was closing down so they weren't doing laminations, the next call put me on hold for over 5 minutes so I eventually hung up, and the last location was an automated message that didn't lead anywhere. Luckily, I decided to call Staples next and the automated message actually directed me to someone! I was able to go in store the next day with my parents, and get mine and my parents cards laminated in well under 5 minutes! It was quick and easy, they just ask if you want to sign up for their rewards program by filling out a sheet with name, number, email~ The associate was very great and now I don't have to worry about bending/ dirtying my card because it feels nice and secure! On Thursday, August 22, 2024, my wife and I stopped at the Staples in Monterey Park to purchase toner for our Cannon printer. We had received an email from Staples for a $15.00 discount if we ordered the toner on-line. We spoke with Evelyn who was working Customer Service. We explained the situation and she checked with the manager and said it was not possible to get the discount at the store but, we would have to order on-line. So, Evelyn informed us about a $25.00 credit for a future purchase if we bought at least $75.00 in merchandise. Well, we needed the toner and we needed batteries so now we had to figure out how to add the App to my wife's email and phone. First time coming to this location to pick up my online order. This was the only store nearby that had my items in stock so even though it was a little drive, it wasnt too bad after all. First thing first, theres plenty of parking. Its located close to the freeway so it does get busy with all the traffic signals but plaza itself, theres lots of parking since it shares parking with other businesses like CVS. I went inside to pick up my order and it took awhile. Not because there were people waiting in line but because the worker couldnt locate my package. I showed my email which is my order confirmation with my name on it but even with that, she couldnt find it for minutes. I dont know what the problem was but in the end, I did get my package. Got home, opened, everything was inside undamaged. I also dropped off my CDC Vaccination Card for free lamination on my way in. You just have to fill out a short form with your name and number, thats all. I believe Staples and Office Depot is offering free lamination for those who were vaccinated. It's paper so laminating is probably a good idea. By the time I was done picking up my order, my card was laminated and good to go. We popped in to Staples last night to get some documents printed (our home printer wasn't working), and boy, it was a trip from beginning to end. I suppose you can attribute the one star to the parking lot outside; since this location is inside a plaza, there is plenty of parking available. When you enter the store, the print and copy center is immediately to your right. We asked the print center staff how long our print job would be available in the cloud if we emailed it, and they couldn't give us an answer (this is concerning if you have any documents with PII). We then asked if we could use a USB to print, and they said yes with the caveat that the machines often don't work with USBs. There are four self-service printers: one was occupied, one was broken, and two were available. We went to the available one (located close to the entrance) and attempted our print job--you prepay for your transaction, and then, the machine does it's thing. Or so we thought. Instead of printing our document, our machine went through a 10-15 minute reboot with no warning; we waited it out. When we tried again to print, it said it was having technical issues for both the USB route and email route. Then, we tried to go utilize the other working machine. Unfortunately, someone else had tried the machine, and that one was no longer working either. So, the same print center staff who told me they didn't know how long emailed documents stay in the cloud came over to half-heartedly troubleshoot the printers (this included looking at it and opening and closing the trays and front panel). He then tried to direct the other person looking to print to the first technical issue printer, and we informed him it wasn't working either. The only supposedly working printer was blocked by a shopping cart while a woman went through all her journals beside it. We left and will be printing at the library instead--if you are pressed on time or need to print something reliably, this definitely isn't the place for you. Other shops that offer printing and coping services would have assisted you by printing in the prepared printing area. read more

Absolutely upset with the printing service here. I went in to get a welcome sign printed for my daughters 1st birthday at 3pm yesterday. I was told over the phone that I could get it same day, but when I went in they told me I could get same day service with a rush fee or pick it up the following morning at 10am. I opted for 10 am pick up the following day, paid for the service, the person taking my order made sure the file looked good and I was told everything was good to go. Well I come in today at 11:30 am to pick up my poster and I was told by the new person that "Oh I was going to call you earlier that I couldn't find the file" SO MY POSTER WASNT READY! WHY DIDNT I GET THE CALL THEN???? I NEEDED THAT POSTER AT 10 AM, that's why I didn't pay for the rush job the night before because I figured it could give them more time! Are you kidding me???? What's the point of offering a service when you can't even follow through???? I am so upset because this was for my daughters first birthday and they completed effed up this entire thing AND DIDNT EVEN APOLOGIZE TO ME. **Do not bring specialized paper to the store for printing. Staffs won't help you.** This Staples used to be my favorite one which staffs were friendly and helpful. Something changed during the COVID pandemic and when I returned today to the print center, it was different. I often take thicker laser printer to output my posters and postcards in small quantities which is much more economical and fast. Today, I brought a PDF to the store and ask the staff to print on the laser paper I brought. Without examining the paper, the staff asked for the packaging to proof that it is indeed usable for their printers, seemingly unwilling to help. I have pledged that I have used the same kind of paper for years and there has been no problem. The staff said, "I have worked here for 3 years." In no time I left the store. I felt disregarded and time wasted to travel to that store. Stationery stores and print shops are in bad shapes because many things are turning digital. I feel like Staples, like many other stores such as Office Depot, is in a downward spiral to the point of no return. As for my poster output, I guess I will go digital, as well. read more

Great service from this location. I was greeted upon entering. The store was very clean and shelves were organized and easy to find products. Prices were clearly labeled including sales prices. I came in to get ink for my Brother Laser Printer. My ink was in stock. When I went to the counter, the very friendly cashier told me to download the new app as I could earn $20 in rewards for downloading the new app as my purchase was over $50. That was very considerate and appreciated. She even notified via the radio she needed assistance as she was helping me download the new app. Luckily, I did earn the $20 in rewards which made the value of my purchase even become more of a deal. RE: PRINT CENTER. Excellent experience. Had to print out a few forms for a trip to the DMV. There was someone monitoring the print area and he was super helpful and nice (didn't get his name). He showed me how to use the self-service printer/copier. It was actually very user-friendly and after his tutorial, I was easily able to do the remainder on my own. I brought in a USB drive but for some reason, it wasn't reading it. Luckily, I had the forms in my e-mail inbox so I was able to e-mail them to the printer. You just send them to a specific e-mail address and receive a reply with a code. Then you enter that code into the printer and can access your file. You can adjust the number of copies and all that. Pretty simple. I do believe there are other options for accessing your files (like Google Drive) but I'd recommend having the e-mail route as a back-up since it's easy and straightforward. read more
