I brought in four pairs of jeans to have the inseams shortened and paid extra for original-hemming service. This was intended to be a test run before bringing additional tailoring work to this shop. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the quality of the work. While the original hem appears to have been reused, the execution was sloppy and did not meet my expectations for a paid original-hemming service. Issues I observed: * Multiple loose threads left untrimmed throughout the hems * Thread bunching and messy stitching at several locations * Rough finishing and excessive bulk where the side seams meet the hem * Visible inconsistencies in the stitching and reattachment seam * The hems do not hang naturally and tend to flare or stick out at the bottom, giving the jeans an uneven appearance when worn * Overall workmanship appears rushed and lacks attention to detail For an additional charge, I expected a cleaner, more professional result. Instead, the finished product looks noticeably altered and falls well short of the quality I expected. After my experience, I read through other reviews and noticed that several customers appeared to report similar issues specifically with jeans and denim alterations. Had I seen those comments beforehand, I likely would have chosen a different tailor for this work. It was disappointing to find that my experience did not seem to be an isolated case. I considered returning to discuss the issue, but ultimately decided it was not worth the time and effort. My time is more valuable than pursuing a correction for a relatively small dollar amount. This review and taking my future business elsewhere is sufficient. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this tailor for denim alterations, particularly if you are paying extra for original-hemming service. Messed up my $400 Japanese selvedge denim. I wish they would have not touched my clothes. I called earlier in the day asking if they could do a chain stitch hem. The man who answered assured me they could. When I arrived, I asked the front desk attendant to confirm if the chain stitch hem could be replicated and 1.5in be shortened from the inseam. She confirmed with the tailor that it was possible. When I came back I was very shocked to see the 'original hem' job they performed. They folded my 21oz denim onto itself and sewed three layers together to shorten the inseam. I have no idea why they would think this would be appropriate for the thickness of the denim. It looked ridiculous. After I expressed my dissatisfaction, they cut the stitches to undo the hem and refunded my money. Unfortunately, they left all the threads for me to remove by hand. The stitchwork they did also ripped up the denim in a very ugly way- I now have 3 lines across the bottom of my jeans: at the hem, 2in, and 4in height. These jeans were a special Christmas present from my wife but now I'm just sad when I look down at them... I sincerely wish you would have called to confirm with me what you were going to do once you realized you could not do the hem as requested. read more

I had been sitting on this for a couple of months, but now I'm like, "Screw it, I'm speaking out." I won't speak against Saad's work. He may have tailored my pants himself the first time, as he was there when I picked them up. He seems like a really cool guy and a consummate professional who knows his stuff and deeply cares about his business. But the woman working there who I've lauded before...she's leaving a lot to be desired. I decided that I wanted the legs of those chalk stripe pants tapered just a hair more, plus I brought in some brand new un-hemmed trousers, both for a then-upcoming trip to Baltimore. During the fitting, I could feel her pinching the pant legs way too tightly. I'd ask her to let them out some, and she'd either barely budge, or go even *tighter*. Mind you, both pants are already slim. Following the ethos, "Trust your tailor," I turned them over to her, knowing in my gut that they wouldn't come out right. Returning a couple days later, the new pants fit decently; I was visibly thrilled and was willing to give a pass. But then my existing ones...I couldn't even get my foot through them. So with those being unwearable and the new ones standing to be a little looser in the leg, I went ahead and asked for them both to be tweaked. She said, almost verbatim, "You said you're happy, now you're not happy--you can't make up your mind! You're confused!" And it wasn't in a joking way. To keep from blowing a gasket like I otherwise would have, I curtly explained what I needed and why...that I couldn't even get my foot through one of them. And she also refused to take in the waist of the new pants. "Just put belt. You put belt." I'm not mocking, but quoting. So she definitely had an attitude putting new marks on both pants, but I was paying good money for this. While changing back into the khakis I came there in, I overheard this douche with a BMW demanding his shirt be "tight-tight." Maybe she was assuming that's what I wanted, since that's probably what their customers around my demographic usually ask for. But that's not how Javan rolls, nor what I was paying for. When I came back, the new pants were sublime (still are) while the existing ones were...good enough. They were still a tad too tight in the leg opening, but I neither had the time nor the energy to argue for an additional inch of fabric. Both pants are a hit either which way, but I had to give this head's up, confirming the issues that other Yelpers have had with the gentlewoman. Another tailor on my side of town (30 miles away) has since corrected the chalk stripe pants in question, and while I do have full faith in Saad himself--his know-how and success--certain members of the team kind of put a dent in things. I recently had a very disappointing experience at Saad Tailors. Not only did they completely change the look of my brand new, never worn top instead of just adjusting the size, but they also made my jeans way too small. When I brought up my concerns, instead of addressing the issue, the owner of the business yelled at me for buying clothes with denim fabric. This kind of treatment is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I would strongly advise against using their services and look for a more reliable and customer-friendly tailor. Updated Post 6/1/18 I wanted to update the below review. The owner Saad called me and was willing do anything to make me feel like a valued customer and persevere the reputation of his store. He apologized and offered several options for me that would resolve my issues and make my consumer experience better. He did. I can honestly say that Saad has done more than 10 suits for me that were perfect and this was the one time was there were a miss understanding which has now been resolved. Old Post 5/30/18 The absolute worst work I've ever encountered. I took my son to get his graduation suit alterations done and the work was rushed and terrible. The women told me that I was wrong and that I don't know how suits are suppose to be. When I asked for a refund she acted like she couldn't speak English after having a full convo with my wife. I am going to seek a refund from the owner. I will never come here for any work and I recommend find another place. Any change I asked for she had an excuse to why she didn't do it the way we asked. Extremely professional. I did want to argue with her so I just collected the items and got the owners info. I had to take the suit to Marcellos in the galleria to be fixed so the suit would be right for graduation which they were able to do. read more

My fiancé came here to get a few shirts tailored after losing some weight. Saad's is a little pricey at $25 per shirt, but he loved the new fit and thought it was worth it. The staff is super friendly and helpful. When my fiancé was trying on his shirts they noticed a button was missing. Saad's son was helping us, and he immediately took the shirt to the back so they could sew on a new button for no charge. We also appreciated that they left the extra fabric on the shirt in case it ever has to be taken out again. While I was waiting on him to try on the shirts, I watched Saad with another customer who was getting a new suit tailored. He made sure to double check that the man's sleeve length was perfect and all the measurements were exact. Everyone went out of their way to make sure the customer was happy. So after starting my internship downtown, I realized a tear was starting to appear in the crotchal region of my pants. Since I'm a college student, I only have like two pairs of dress pants and I needed my pants to be repaired as soon as possible. I went on yelp and this was the closest and the best. I gave my pants to him on Friday and he gave me a ticket for when I pick them up. I come in on Monday and they look as good as new and he didn't even charge me. I was confused and he told me to come in when I have a bigger tear. He was very nice and my pants are in still good condition. read more

I created my yelp account just to review this business. I came to him an 30 minutes before closing on a Monday with only a picture of what I needed done. He told me he could do what I needed in a week's time but the interview I needed the suit for was that same Thursday! Saad promised to have the work done for me by Wednesday at 5 and even stayed after closing on that Monday so I could bring him the suit same day. The work was flawless and when I attempted to tip he refused it saying his customers happiness was all he required. I picked up my suits and was quite happy with the results. Consistent quality is hard to come by, and finding it in a friendly package is even harder. Saad combines both and really makes an effort to provide outstanding service. It makes me confident that if or when a mistake might happen, he'll do whatever it takes to set it right. The only better endorsement than that is that after at least four suits and four sport coats, there has yet to even be a mistake. I needed to find a tailor to fix my husband's nice wool coat that needed a new lining. Since the coat is expensive, I wanted to make sure I was taking it to a tailor that could properly fix the coat.I saw Saad's reviews on Yelp and decided to see if he could help. Indeed, Saad suggested how to replace the lining in a way that would preserve the label, look good, and still be cost-effective . The coat turned out great! He also took up a dress for me and fixed a zipper on a pair of women's jeans. For free, he threw in a button sew-on and a fix to a small hole in a sweater. (I've been charged $3-$5 to have a button sewn on before, so I was pleased!) He was helpful, priced each piece for me in advance, and all my clothes were done on time. Saad also has beautiful Italian suits. He recently had an amazing buy 1, get 3 sale. My husband now has 3 beautiful suits for less than $1,000! They offer everything from tailoring a suit purchased elsewhere to a custom-made Italian suit. All work is done in-house so it takes him a little time to do the alterations. Ruined two separate suits. Asked for him to tighten up the sides on two suits, he recommended a more expensive adjustment. I didn't think the coat needed it, but he highly recommended it and really pushed that it would look better. It came back and the jacket now has large folds on the sholders as a result of his recommended adjustment. They are literally too embarrassing to wear to any serious function (actually was made fun of at work because of them). Also, he shortened the legs on each suit by about 3 inches too much, such that an inch and a half of ankle is showing. Didn't realize I was paying him $250 to ruin my suits. He also won't refund the money and the adjustments on the coat aren't reversible. Unbelievable. read more

Just called for an estimate, and I thought it was so crazy I would share! I just need the sleeves on a trench-style jacket taken up by ~1 in. No buckles, snaps, buttons need to be moved, but the jacket was lined. Saad quoted me $35. I called a couple other places (also with good yelp reviews) and they quoted $18-20. I can't speak to the quality of work at Saad's, but looking at the yelp reviews for other places that offer same-day service, I expect them to be just as good. read more

Then I walked into Saad's based on a referral from a few close friends of mine, and it ended up being the best thing I could have done. I got a suit that was as nice, if not nicer, than any brand name suit I came across in my search, and I got it at a price that can't be beat. From the beginning, and throughout the process, Saad was extremely helpful and informative. You can tell that this is something he has been doing for a long time and that he is very passionate about it. I was surprised to find that he had a great selection of off-the-rack suits, and I found exactly what I was looking for. The turnaround time on the alterations was very quick, and the finished product came out even better than I expected. The suit fit PERFECTLY, and looked great. Everyone at my wedding was asking me where I got my suit, and I was happy to tell them. Bottom line, if you want a nice suit at a very good price, just save yourself the hassle and go straight to Saad. If a 100% bespoke suit is what you are looking for, he's got you covered.
