Absolutely useless for regular clothing alterations, such as fixing pockets in pants. I had holes coming in my pants pockets, so I needed new pockets. I really wanted new pockets not those cut halfway as it irritates me when my fingernails sticks on them. Anyway the Russian lady hadn't a clue what I meant, so I went along with the flow. So I got the half pockets. Took them back immediately as they'd given me one pocket 1 inch shorter than the other. Got them back with pockets of the same length. However now they had different material, one made of cotton, the other of some lycra. And a week later the sewing in the bottom of one of the new pocket came loose. Took it back to get fixed yet again, and all seemed ok until now... there is lots of cotton thread appearing, I fear it is all unraveling. read more

I don't normally post reviews but I was so impressed with the quality of work at Saad's that I had to. I am an extremely picky customer, especially when it comes to alterations. I brought in several suit coats that needed some major alterations and they did a seriously exceptional job. I have a very hard time finding suit coats that fit me well. I am petite with big arms, not much of a chest and a very slim torso, which means I have to purchase suits that are at least 2 sizes to big so they will fit comfortably in the arms. I have gone to many tailors and none of them could alter my suits like they did here. The suits now fit like they were custom made for me, it's amazing! I get so many compliments. I also brought in some wool coats that were too tight and too long in the arms. I have been turned away by many tailors who said that there was just not enough material to open up the arms enough to make the coats fit properly. I brought them into Saad's and after some thought he was able to use the material left over from shortening the arms to open up the upper arms. I can now wear my coats even with a thick sweater! The work also looks amazing you would have no idea that anything was done to them. I will never go anywhere else for tailoring! Try them, you will not be disappointed! read more

I am one of those people who read plenty of reviews but seldom will post any. However, Saad asked me to write a review so I am. I was very pleased with the result and the personal service. He was engaging and gave me a great deal on a suit. The proof was in the amount of compliments I got when I wore it. In full disclosure, I am giving him 4 stars because I don't have a history by which to judge consistency. Perhaps I will come back and update this as I will be visiting him in the future. If you are picky about a tailor like I am, you should give him a try. read more

He's an expert craftman--- he's been around since the 1970s; old school cool and knows exactly what he's doing. He understands the various fits that you're going for, not to mention he's got a great eye for aesthetics and is always kind enough to share his insights when it comes to understanding how something should look. For starters, it is difficult finding a good quality tailor, but Saad is great! I've been coming here for about a year now and will never go anywhere else. He is always consistent and fast as well. It took me a long time to finally find the right place, and since finding his place, I've never been happier. He puts his customers first and foremost and will do anything to please. He is a master at what he does and enjoys it. Not only is his work of great quality but it's reasonably priced. If a tailor is cheap, they typically aren't of good quality and that is not the case with Saad. It's unfortunate that somebody would give him a bad review just because they were quoted a price they didn't like, over the phone might I add. If you don't like the price, then you take your business elsewhere. In no way does quoting a price over the phone deserve a bad review. Also, if you aren't satisfied with his work, he will work with you to make any extra corrections you might need and make sure you walk away 100% satisfied. You try it on before you leave and if something is slightly off, he fixes it. In the year I've been there and the many, many, many items of clothing I've taken to him, they have only had to make small corrections on one or two of those items. If I could give him 6 stars out of 5, I would. You are in great hands at Saad's! read more

This is my second time here. Each time, I have received excellent service and suits of great quality. Today, a Friday, I walked in around 5:40 p.m. I bought a suit and needed it altered for a wedding tomorrow morning. Voila! It was done. I appreciate the quick turnaround. read more

Don't go here. I had a suit made there over 20 years ago and it was fine, but the place has really gone downhill. I asked for them to custom tailor an off the rack suit that I bought-I knew it was a major rework job but was willing to pay whatever it took to make it look good. The owner was not there and his son attended to me and he really didn't know what he was doing-obviously an apprentice but I let him take the measurements-big mistake-all the while he was getting the coaching from his dad over the telephone-but their interaction was terrible. How can he not even effectively communicate with his own dad? Then I go back after a week to pick it up and there is a woman tailor there who couldn't speak English enough to effectively communicate. She said she was experienced, but maybe as a seamstress, not really a tailor. She didn't even have the accurate instructions on what needed to be done from the tailor's son-so a total communication breakdown-but she tried to assure me that the coat sleeves did not need altering, just a good ironing. I don't buy that story. I don't know why they didn't have a good iron there, or send it out if that was the case. I just wanted to get out of there with my suit and never come back. This was the worst experience at any tailor I've ever had-a real mess. There are too many good tailors in Houston to go back here again. read more

Like others, I visited Saad's after reading so many positive reviews. I'm 5'3" and 120 pounds with an athletic build, and have found it difficult to find suits that fit well. I visited Saad's as I both wanted a new suit and also alterations on some existing items. Saad was very professional and when I asked for a custom-made suit, he took the time to find out what I was really after (a quality suit that fits well). I tried on a few he had in the shop and we decided to pick these with some alterations rather than custom-made. I've picked them up and they fit perfect and look wonderful!! I also left two jackets at the same time and he worked wonders on those. All were ready in 6 days, and I am very happy with the service, the quality of the alterations, and the new suits (and conversation in picking the suits). I've left 3 more jackets and a suit for alterations, and I'm sure they will turn out perfect as well. I highly recommend Saad's!! read more
