Zara is a good choice for guys who want well-made fashionable clothes at very affordable prices, especially if on sale or clearance. My wife and I had returned to visit our nephew/godson at his university, and had some time with him to buy some outfits that both aunt/nephew approved. It took a while, but after about an hour and couple hundred bucks later, he had a couple of outfits that he looked and felt great in. In the meanwhile, I ended up buying two shirts on clearance, both 80% off original price (which isn't too bad to begin with), so I was pleased. In terms of service, we didn't get any cause we didn't expect it. The racks were relatively clean and organized, the dressing rooms were monitored, and the registers were staffed enough to keep the lines moving. I only come to this location because it's the closest one to me, but the customer service has been consistently disappointing. During my visit, an associate took some accessories before I entered the fitting room, which I understand. However, when I asked for them back, she didn't even hand them to me--she told me to pick them up from the floor. That felt very disrespectful and unprofessional. Buyer beware of Zara's new policies. If the ethical guilt trip didn't get me to ditch Zara, I think this last trip in finally convinced me to kick my Zara addiction. Among the long lines, unpredictable mall parking, and European fashion finds both trendy and classic for men, women and children of various sizes we've come to know so well, Zara recently implemented a .10 cent per bag policy, installed a self checkout, and began charge customers for online returns. Although the bag policy is publicly marketed as a sustainability initiative, it's hard not to wonder if passing the cost of bags, returns, and labor (in the self checkout you literally have to fold and bag your own clothing as well as remove the anti theft tags) is just a clever way to pass more costs onto the consumer. In the past I noticed the unethical elements, makeup stained clothing returning to the floor, and the staffs general demeanor (atleast at this location, they all seem overworked, exhausted, and burnt out), but all of this was magnified by the new changes customers are expected to adopt without question. Today was my most difficult trip to Zara yet. It's no longer a pleasant shopping experience, but instead an exhaustive, chaotic experience you tolerate when you want to appear polished on a budget. On the plus side the clothes are still the same quality, sizing is still all over the place (this is def a try it on type of store), you can almost guarantee a half the store wait to check out on weekends, and pricing seems to remain constant, but personally, I left feeling used and abused, herded like cattle, just another a cog in the machine. They are racist. A white person walked out the store, the buzzer didn't go off. However me and my beautiful daughters walk out and the buzzer goes off for each and every one of us including my 5 year old. she walked back in and out and it still went off. This store needs better management how is it possible that they have a line of 20+ people and it takes you an hour easily to pay. Then you get to the register after standing in line for the cashiers to not even bother to say hi, they won't even look you in the eyes or say a word. As a frequent Zara store and online shopper, I've seen many Zaras throughout my travels and this location in the Galleria, like other Zaras nationwide basically has two experiences. While the location looks great on the outside, note that you have to accept a certain kind of shopping experience when you're a Zara shopper. Again, there are two experiences at Zara. One experience is when you arrive at Zara in the early AM, right when it opens, and you find everything you could ever want. The other experience is when you go after 1PM and the store is a total disaster in terms of clutter, no sizes are available and feels like no Zara employee wants to help you. If you're a Zara shopper you've know what I'm talking about. So here's the deal, the experience is about your timing and what you can put up with as far as service. After all at rock bottom prices for excellent quality clothing and in the latest trend, you have to accept that it is what it is. You get incredibly, " on point " pieces to make you look fashionable but you have to understand that you have to sacrifice service to get those cute mom jeans, chunky platform boots and oversized sweatshirts. Zara will always be my go to but note that I'm a fashionista and fashion comes first to me. Attitude and clutter, that's just part of the game. PRO TIP: Make sure to grab the shopper bags located on a stand right when you walk in, located right by the entrance. read more

This is the worst customer service experience I've ever come across - and this from the actual Store Manager Frank who should not be dealing with customers face to face with his bad attitude and superiority complex. Zara is not just for the women as the Yelp app says, they have men's stuff too. Although the workers are quick to insult your body type if you are anything less than cover-worthy A&F model with a six pack and an IQ of six. Their attitude leaves A LOT to be desired - unless you like total queen divas insulting your decision to eat bacon cheeseburgers with extra bacon and deep fried bacon wrapped ham as an appetizer - but the clothes are still nice even if the workers think your fat ass won't fit into them. Zara in NYC is way, way nicer. You actually get some assistance there, not just rude comments about the "size you ARE wearing and the size you SHOULD be wearing, honey." Normally, I can rely on Zara for "last minute" finds like a cotton tee or blazer. But lately, most of their clothing prices have gone up and trend-factor down. If you dig enough, you might randomly find a nice blouse, timeless "work" dress or skirts. The quality of their clothing varies; nothing is too reliable so check out all the threads and stitching before you buy, 'cause you never know. Loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Zara, only place really that can get you looking right if you're tall and skinny. I usually like their options for graphic t-shirts and jackets. Shoes can be hit or miss for them. There's one manager here I like in particular who's worked her for the longest, she's always so happy, I like seeing her when I go here. I came into this Zara to exchange a skirt I'd bought in L.A. I mistakenly grabbed an XS size (ha! Not fitting into THAT one probably ever). So I browsed around first hoping to find a similar skirt (if not the same one) I could exchange it for. I must say they unexpectantly had good sales going on and the clothes were organized neatly. I was able to find a skirt I liked in my size and some chic comfy pants and proceeded to check out to make the exchange. The guy at the counter has very nice. He had to call the manager to approve the transaction. I must say the manager was not only gorgeous and fashionable (she WAS substituting from L.A) but she was super nice and accommodating. I've visited this location a few times, but they seem to never have my size or exactly what I'm looking for. Which is odd because I can exactly what I want at other locations such as Baybrook or memorial city. I have a son that shops here as well, but he doesn't have any complaints in regards to this location. The store is organized for the most part and usually have items on clearance that are good deals. I'm leaving the 3 stars because I was told to go to the children's section to check out. I've been in retail before and I was confused as to why I had to go to a whole different section to checkout. But 10 minutes later, someone was checking out at the register I was originally at. Worst customer service and policy ever! I had two items to be returned, there was only one cashier available to check out, no one on the sales floor to assist, employees (including the manager) have absolutely no empowerment or ability to solve customer issue. I had to wait in line for 35 minutes just for a return, there were only 3 people before me. When it is my turn, they couldn't return my items because I only had the order number not the actual receipt. They can't only take return with a receipt, not even with an order number or with the credit card I purchased with. What type of policy is that? Or did the company train their employees not to go above and beyond to help a customer. I told them one of the items was a gift and I opened it yesterday and did not see a receipt, but my husband send me the order number. They looked at me like I was being difficult while your company policy is being ridiculous. I seriously think that your company do this on purpose to force customers to keep your products. Love your merchandise but your return policy sucks and punishes your customers, especially loyal ones with pain and suffering. Just tried for the second time to exchange a pair of baby pants, your shipment didn't come in time, so you didn't have them in stock. pants were defective so I was forced to accept low sale price merchandise credit "as a favor". Super disappointed that buying multiple thousands of dollars a year of merchandise doesn't afford me ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE. This BS took over an hour to get back $5.99 on my second attempt. HOURS of my life I can't get back. Then I went to Nordstrom's and Monsoon and did 2 returns at 2 separate stores in less than 5 minutes. You have lost me for good. Ah sometimes ignorance is bliss. I was reading the other reviews about how Zara's quality has fallen off. Well, since I'd never shopped there before, I wouldn't notice anyhow. I was referred to this store from a yelp conversation about clothing for skinny dudes such as myself. My problem is though I'm thin, I'm still pretty muscular (think swimmer or some kung fu flick guy) so clothes for me is always a challenge. That mixed with the fact that I don't usually dress "up" so to speak makes it all the more difficult. Aside from Armani Exchange, this place has clothes for the skinny dude. They aren't overly skin tight or flamboyant looking and there's plenty of room in the crotch in the pants (no plum smuggling in these pants lol). There are a bit more..um... flashy mens clothing in the store, but for basic stuff, I can't go wrong. This was a good recommendation yelp.. Congrats.. read more

As a frequenter of the Galleria, I used to always see gobs of girls walking around with bags and bags of Zara things. However, judging the by average age of these girls, I assumed that there would be nothing in there for me and hadn't walked in once in the three years that I've been a loyal Galleria customer. While Jeni S. was vising from Cali, she wanted to go in and shop around saying that they were similar to H&M. Me, being the non-cultured shopper, had no idea what H&M was so this explanation didn't help at all. This store is chock full of variations of one design. They'll take one popular design and just change it up a little bit and voila! You have a rack full of clothes that are very similar, yet different from one another. Though some might find this odd, I loved it. I'd been looking for a tweed skirt for some time now and had always loved the pencil skirt looked, but I saw they had the "same skirt" in about four different styles. I grabbed all of them and left with a bell shaped one that has quickly become my favorite skirt. They do this same concept with shirts--they'll pick a pattern and revamp it with long sleeves, 3/4 sleeves, cap sleeves, tank tops, and tube tops. Yes, it is mass marketing, but it works so you can find something that fits any body type if you're willing to hunt. The men's section is substantially smaller, but still had a decent selection. We left with a few ties that were trendy, cheap, and innocuous enough that both my husband and I liked them. The lack of stars really has to do with the lack of service. The exasperated look on the faces of the sale people is so obvious and rude that it makes me not want to shop there. The dressing room attendant tried to be attentive, but was a bit overworked for how busy this place is. Sure, the quality of the clothes isn't fabulous, but the next time I need an affordable cocktail dress, this is the first place I'm looking to save some money. read more

Zara is the Old Navy of Spain - just like H&M is of Sweden - so I'm not looking for top notch quality clothes here... but these clothes fit me allot better than bulky clothes of American labels. Plus the styles here are normally at least a season ahead of the US manufacturers. Keep in mind these clothes probably will wrinkle quickly - but what do you expect out of clothes made in Vietnam, Turkey, Bangladesh, and China :-) read more

I wish all Zara's in NYC were this large, carried this much inventory and had this many sizes. I swear as soon as I get to Zara in Flatiron or on 42nd Street there is only one left of anything that I came to try and score. I literally came here last Saturday afternoon to return a shirt that I purchased in NYC that was missing some beading on the shoulders and figured I wouldn't be able to find another one in my size....wrrrrrrrong! Apparently the ladies of Houston are not huge Zara fans because not only did they have my size, they had every size (this shirt has been out about a month already). I was pretty pleased with that. I am going to go back today to get some more stuff because I can never get these things at home. Excitement ensues! FYI to anyone who has never shopped at Zara, the sizes are true European sizes, so you will most likely have to size up from what you would be in American clothing. ZARA is supposedly an international company, but they don't support their product when crossing borders. I purchased several items in Toronto recently. Two of which did not fit or were sold to me damaged. I didn't realize this until I got back home to Houston. Attempting to rectify the exchange/refund at my local store I was made aware of their international "policy" of not honoring returns or exchanges. Each country is treated like a separate business and after wasting an hour on the phone with the US and Canadian corporate office I realized I was only hitting a brick wall. ZARA's clothes are only nice because they are cheap and don't look half bad for a mall store. I guess you do get what you pay for. You've proven your loyalty to me,ZARA, so my loyalty to you will be in the form of no longer gracing your showrooms full of cheap knockoffs. read more

I'm not really sure what to think of this place. The clothing is nice, but it's not anything I'd wear to work. In fact, I would expect this place to have something that would easily make the change from work to social, but no such luck. As for the employees? Well they weren't exactly rude to me or insulting to my body type, but that's because they completely ignored me. They were too busy talking abut themselves.
