I shop for certain things at this International store. One main item are the Torani syrups. They are cheaper here than elsewhere that I've noticed. It's a great deal especially when they're on sale. It's been awhile since I've purchased these syrups as I stocked up on my last visit which was probably about 6 months ago. They were on sale at $5.99 each. Regularly go to this grocery store to buy the necessary produce, drinks, noodles and other essentials for our household. Normally see good deals on instant ramen, Iced Coffee, Asian ingredients and sauces. They have weekly deals on certain fruits and vegetables as well. The store has a good selection and variety of International items available. Prices are reasonable for the majority of stuff, although they can go up at times. Stopped by Friday around 5:50 PM for cilantro, limes, chicken thighs, tortillas, and a couple international snacks, and ended up staying longer than I meant to because I kept finding things. The line was about four people, which felt very reasonable for that time of day, and the store looked clean. We have always been pleased with Saars Fried Chicken and Jo-Jos. But the chicken we got today did not meet our expectations. We found it not as moist or seasoned. The meat was dry, and the Jo-Jos were mainly a of flavorless dry French fries and a few Jo-Jos. read more

WOW! What a store. Spoke briefly with the manager (name?) and told him we're from Hawaii and many of the items in stock meet our cooking needs. We were in a hurry due to a scheduled engagement so I was literally running up and down the isles not only to look for items I needed for a recipe, but to take a cursory look at all the good stuff. So many items, so little time. The isles are clearly marked as to ethnic food groups, there's a huge wine section and and numerous what appeared to be local pastries & breads. I'll be back in order to take in more of what Saars has to offer. And, the great thing is the store is open 24/7 and it's relatively close to where we live. read more

I worked in customer service myself for four years I never ever give attitude or been disrespectful to any race or religion tonight around 8:30 we were at the cashier spot trying to go home. Huge store with just about everything. If you purchase their brand, the prices are rock bottom. Produce is wide and varied but a lot of it looked like it was past it's prime. Huge selection of frozen seafood and tons of meat but we weren't in need of any at that point. Their biggest claim to fame is their ethnic section. Its absolutely huge and has several ethnic cultures to choose from. The cashier said she was from the Ukraine and could find everything she needed there. Lots of hispanic items but couldn't find any tamales, must have been sold out. They have a Monday special of chicken but couldn't figure out if it was already cooked or just pieces. They have a weekly add with coupons, be sure and take those coupons because the cashiers won't ring it up unless you do. I'll go back when I need that specific spice the is called for when I make a certain country's food but probably not for everyday shopping. read more

Wow! I wish this store was closer to where I lived. The produce & meat prices are phenomenal. I love the variety of international products too Unfortunately what I came in for, tamales, I did not find. I didn't find anyone working the aisles to ask and I was in a bit of a hurry so I may have missed them. I did score a pecan pie for $3.99! And got some yummy mustard potato salad from the deli. Great selection and friendly staff, but store hours are wrong. They are NOT 24 hours. They've closed at 12am for the last 6 months but the owners haven't changed the time online or the big sign outside their store. Don't come here after 12!! I'll be honest, I come here every Thursday for their $5/8-piece fried chicken. Samantha who works at the deli knows my order every time I come through. Their chicken to me is by far the BEST fried chicken on earth! They have it all freshly soaked in the fryer and ready at around 9:30am. So be there or be square! Man that chicken is good! LOL. Other than their infamous fried chicken, they have all sorts of ethnic foods. Things you can't find at your local Safeway or QFC. Today I shopped at Saars. The first employee I saw was within ten feet of entering. He was in the prodice, mask loose under his nose. Second employee I swa was frying and serving chicken and hot food, no mask around her mouth or nose. Third empoyee I ran into had the chin mask on while interacting with customers. I motioned to her the mask was ot over her nose. She appeared angry at me. As I left the store, the produce man was still working away with his false mask on. One cashier was wearing her mask correctly. Great place to shop if you want to get Covid-19. The empoyees don't care about each other or the patrons. I won't be back. read more

Very strange knock-off store located in Auburn. Western Family cola, DVDXpress instead of Red Box...this store has all sorts of no name brands that I've never even heard of. I mostly came to look at the produce. Some of it was actually really great, while other selections were some of the worst I've ever seen. Very hit and miss to the point I really don't think it's worth stopping by to check and won't be returning. Meat department seemed okay. Good selection of alcohol. Frozen department is horrible. Some cases had frost so thick that it was far too copious to be called "frost." Other sections had puddles of water all over the floor. I personally wouldn't buy anything refridgerated or frozen at this store. read more

This market is a surprise find! My daughter recently moved in the neighborhood and we were pleasantly surprised to find that this nearby establishment has a gigantic international food section. In fact, about half the store stocks products from various parts of the world. Each group of aisles is labeled with the section of the world where the items originate. If you have been looking for hard to find exotic foods, this is the place to find it! The prices seem very reasonable. Also, the meat department has some great low prices for beef. We got a 3 pound tri-tip for only $2.99 per pound. There is also a bakery in the back of the store that makes fresh yummy baked goods. read more

Ladies in the deep chicken fryer at the back left corner of Saars in Auburn, Washington. Today at 6ish pm we asked the Spanish lady 3bgs for the Monday and Friday special the 20 drumsticks for $9.99, and she cheerfully checked the deep fryer behind her, she said 7mins can you wait, we said ok we will wait. Me and my 3 kids stayed neared the can aisle so that we would not be in the way of other shoppers, there was also a man who after us ordered 1bg of the Monday and Friday special and he waited too. 10 minutes later 2 people bought 3 bg and left so I walked up and asked the dark brown lady we are the people who are waiting for 3bg of the Monday and Friday special, mind you this dark brown lady is the same lady we buy our 3bgs most Fridays in Auburn, Washington. As she is bagging our 1st bag a Spanish lady with a ponytail walks up and ask the dark lady what is the order than the Spanish lady say "No" the maxs is 2bgs, so I tell her ask the Spanish speaking lady with short hair that made us wait 7 min for the new badge, she looks at me and say what lady, so I pointed behind her in there storage area that lady. So the short Spanish hair lady comes and says yes they are the one waiting for the 3bgs 8min ago, but the ponytail Spanish lady says no maxs is 2bgs, so being frustrated I spoke to the dark lady "ma'am you know me I always come here and you always tell me 3bgs is the maxs, how come you don't speak up now", they started talking back and forth so the cue behind me was urging me on my kids who been waiting with me were now grumpy and wanted to leave, so I said give me my 2bgs and we will leave, went to cashier and asked for a manager, radioed the managers and they were on break all of them at the same time. Saars has always been a great place to shop but if Auburn Washington Saars employs are unprofessional, uncompassionate, unruly, and down right mean, why should they sell the deep fryed chicken, are you not suppose to be happy we buying it. I love the variety of options International foods -tons of options which is great because the area is diverse. Okay priced. I purchased canned Thai iced tea for .99 which is a steal Everything else lol -Okay so as far as their prices for everything else, if it's the off name brand then it's an okay price comparable to Walmart or winco. HOWEVER the name brand products in this store are extremely over priced. Meat -Looking at their meat selection they have a good variety and good sales at different times. They advertise all over the outside that it's 24 hours. Yesterday I get there at 1:50am they said they are closed and the door is locked. The next day I come at 1:30am (I work till 1am). The door is locked again. I called them and a worker picks up. I ask why they are closed if it says 24hours. All he said was sorry. I then asked if you close at 2am and open at 5am, why are your doors locked at 1:30? He said, Oh the registers are 10 minutes ahead. This will probably sound pretty pretentious to say but it is what it is... Saar's Super Saver Foods is the Walmart of grocery stores. If you've been to either locations I'm sure that really sums up all I need to say. However, if you haven't, here's more info... It's a large location and really has all grocery needs. The millions of signage and sale prices throughout the store seems a bit much but it's an attention grabber keep your eyes up at all times. Prices are fairly good for market place - I just kind of doubt the quality of how fresh or high quality the meats and veggies are. I don't come here for those items though, just when I need a cheap fix on junk food or ice cream, it's a great place to pick up. Other than that, I find it odd that they run one cashier at two stations, cost efficient but such an overload of work for one person to handle. read more

The first few times I came here I was overwhelmed with all the many choices, and the foreign language on the items. This time however, I stopped and asked people for help finding the numerous items I needed, and was very happy with the overwhelmingly eager help I got. There was one item that was out on the shelf and the clerk offered to go into the back to check their latest delivery, it was there, and I was able to leave with everything I needed for a special meal I Was preparing. Wow, I don't know what crawled up the last guy's butt.... We just moved to Kent from Burien a couple of years ago, and after being traumatized by the closing of the Burien Saar's, we were disappointed that there were none near here, either. Well, now there is (for certain values of "near"). You can get some incredible deals here, and find products nobody else has--yes, some of them from "some 3rd world country"! (Shock, horror!) I'm only giving Super Saver 4 stars, because there are certain areas where they're weak. (Bread, for example). And the HABA aisle has locked glass doors so you have to have the checker get your aspirin for you. What's that about? Also, the produce section, while offering an enormous variety, and there are always some great deals, can be of...variable...quality, so keep your eyes open. All in all, a great resource for those of us on a budget. read more

Prices are great and the layout of the store accommodates the various ethnicities of food so it's easier to shop. Also, they send out great ads every week with the specials and keep copies at the front of the store for convenience. Great Store! I should have rated it higher. I love the low prices but even more important I feel safe & comfortable coming out to this store. It's a little further but so worth it. When my taxi pulled up to the entrance it was how it should be a store with displays, people coming & going and no one loitering mostly people trying to ask for money or whatever. The store is clean no frills. It's a good store for families that shop on a budget, myself who shops on a very limited budget. Only thing. Provide some chili peppers the red ones. Very hard to find! I had noticed some tiny chili peppers packaged, but they were labeled without a name of what it was only a price I think that it was 1.67 since it said no more than that I just simply passed on purchasing it cause when in doubt pass on it. The only "dark" part about this place: the parking lot after twilight (it is no dimmer than any average grocery store parking lot). Inside, the store is clean, organized, and bright! Very easy to find the international food sections! The variety only makes me wish there was even more. read more

My family discovered This place about a year ago and we were shocked at how big and much if an international selection that they have. I would say that Saar's rivals WinCo in terms of size. This is now our go to spot for shopping, I enjoy their chicken patties And size of their chicken legs. I definitely recommend Saar's for the selection and the prices. read more

Bad review mostly due to the horrible cashier service. First time visit, spent an hour browsing and shopping. Loaded up my cart and finally stood in line. I unloaded my cart and watched as the cashier rung the lady in front on me. Next up....me, um wrong!! The cashier stepped away and never returned. Without a word to me or even eye contact, she stepped over to another resister and left me standing there! I thought okay maybe another cashier is coming, nope.....nobody acknowledged me. As I watched in bewilderment people lining up and going through the other registers while I stand there like an idiot! I said to another cashier....this young lady just left and went to another register. She replied thats the way we do it. Cashiers jump from registers sometimes!! WHAT? Then put up a closed sign or tell me register is closed before I unload my cart. So now I'm supposed to load my cart back up and go stand in another line?? F that shitty customer service. I walked out...they can load up the cart and return everything themselves. I'll never go back!! Just wondering why the meats look brown and not fresh as well? read more

ugh, this is just the worst grocery store i've been in. dirty grimey, poorly stock. i went there today as it was on the way home and they had celery on sale. evidently in the one day since their ad came out they completely ran out of celery. none of the employees could say if they would get any more in stock and seemed completely uncaring. if you have a choice of places to shop then avoid this place at all costs. they've been going downhill in service and quality every since they opened. read more

Saars is my neighborhood large grocery store, yet I rarely shop there. They have a huge selection of international foods that is interesting & the prices are good, even cheap. I cannot say the same for American brands/products, most are extremely over-priced with a limited variety. I would estimate the huge selection of produce is 50% good quality, 50% poor quality, for ex: the cucumbers were all soft, not hard & crispy. On the plus side, recently the produce is labeled where it is from; ie: Mexico/U.S.; & there is more organic. I worked for Safeway & I have to say most of the checkers are very slow on top of the fact they must alternate between two check-out lines. I have walked out without purchasing my 2 items after waiting in line over 15 minutes & have seen other customers do the same. If you want to keep customers & retain new ones, a grocery store needs fast, competent checkers that are not overworked from alternating between two checkout lines, because the employer is trying to save money by hiring fewer employees; fast, efficient customer service should be the priority. Saars has the potential to be a great store due to the wonderful selection of international foods, produce & good prices in the meat department. Lowering prices on American brands & hiring more checkers during peak hours would be a great improvement; my neighbors & I would shop there a lot more often! :) read more
