Let me start by saying I genuinely love this place. I stop by fairly often during the work week around lunchtime because it's so easy to grab a quick meal from their hot food section. The cabbage rolls are delicious, the meatballs are fantastic, and their fresh-baked breads and pastries are some of my favorites in the area. That being said... I made the mistake of coming here on a Saturday afternoon. First, the parking lot. Wow. It took me probably 10-15 minutes just to find a parking spot. There simply isn't enough parking for the number of people that come here on weekends, so everyone is circling the lot waiting for someone to leave. Then, once you finally find a space, people don't leave enough room to get in or out because traffic is coming from every direction. If driving stresses you out, I'd honestly recommend visiting during the week instead. Monday through Friday around lunchtime has always been a much easier experience for me. Inside was just as busy. The deli counter had a huge line, and the store was packed with people. It was difficult to move around because shoppers were constantly walking in front of each other without much awareness of those around them. None of that is really the store's fault--it just speaks to how popular they are--but it definitely made for a stressful visit. The reason I stopped in this time was to finally try some of the desserts, and I'm so glad I did. The honey cake was absolutely incredible and easily my favorite. I'll definitely be buying that again. I also tried the Spartak cake, which was good, but the honey cake stole the show for me. I couldn't decide on one of the mousse cakes because they all looked amazing, so I asked the employee behind the counter to pick her favorite. She recommended the mango mousse cake, and she was right--it was delicious. The white chocolate shell gives way to a light, tangy mango mousse with actual pieces of mango inside. It was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. The only downside is the price. The mousse cakes are roughly palm-sized and around $10 each. While they were very good, I finished mine in one sitting, whereas the honey cake and Spartak lasted me much longer and cost less. Overall, I absolutely recommend this market. The food, bakery, and hot deli are excellent, and I'll definitely keep coming back. My only advice is simple: avoid Saturday afternoons if you can. You'll probably enjoy the experience a whole lot more. read more

My family was very excited to discover a new market(to us) and was drawn in as soon as we stepped in the door. The place was very busy even at 9 pm but we found a lot of treats in the market and then headed over to the deli to order 3 pastries but the line was very long and we could not even see where to line up at the counter but noticed some others ordering from a kiosk so my son and I both ordered and paid on the kiosk and waited for our number to be called. There seemed to be no sense of order or numbers being called so we were confused after waiting 10 min. just for pastries to be taken out of the window and handed to us. But it was quite busy so we waited patiently. 15 minutes goes by and still no numbers being called so we were confused and noticed that others were standing in a line to one of the registers so I decided to just wait in line even though I waited in line already to use the kiosk and ordered & paid already. I waited about 6-7 min. in line and when we got up to the front I told the cashier that I was sorry, we did not know we had to order at the register but that we ordered and paid at the kiosk and gave her my number and my son's and she picked up our order receipts on her side of the counter and looked at them and told me that someone would help us in a few minutes and set the receipts down and took the next customer, so we assumed someone was going to work on our order. So we moved over in front of the pastries again and waited. And waited. While the girl I had just spoken to was taking orders from others in line and making and bagging/boxing their orders AS they ordered with her. Completely ignoring the fact that we had just waited in line again and had already paid for our orders and she chose to skip our order, not box them and took others orders after telling me that someone would be with us. She took several orders for about 15 more minutes and still no one helped us, so I went to stand in line again because now at this point it seemed purposeful and discriminatory as she took orders and fulfilled orders as soon as she took them and ignored us. We are not of European/Ukranian descent and did not speak the language but the customers she helped all did. So now, after being more than patient I was getting angry. We had been waiting for more than 40-45 minutes at this point. AFTER we had already ordered and PAID. I kept looking at her thinking she is going to pack our order but she kept working on others, but she made eye contact with me many times, knowing we were waiting. Finally when I was about to say something to another clerk she comes over and asks us if we wanted it packed together. Like we had not been made to wait for over 40 minutes till she acknowldged us. No apology, nothing. She packed our 3 pastries and we were not happy at all, especially after leaving a tip at the kiosk. I did not get her name but she was the only dark-haired/brunette behind the counter. The saving grace was the cashier at the front, a very friendly gentleman who saved our trip but not enough to want to come back to your market again. I understand being busy, I work in the food industry-but to have no direction, no sense of urgency, no customer service skills at all and to be made to feel like the bad service was purposeful, no thank you. We don't need to visit again. Which is sad because I love to learn about other cultures and enjoy their cuisine and the market was delightful and everything we purchased was delicious but we know when we are not welcome at an establishment so we will spend our money elsewhere. After posting this review I went and read how many others felt discriminated against as people of color(we are Asian), and see a theme here. If more than one customer has felt this way, obviously this is an issue that has not been addressed. Again, the cashier at the market was very friendly but your servers behind the cafe/deli counter need some training on customer service and discriminating practices. Such a shame for a business to allow this behavior to continue. read more

I had the opportunity to check out Emish Market after two other stops that started from Shoreline (4/27/26). I had initially drove past and ended up having to do a u-turn from the adjacent Dawn site. I was happy to get a parking spot close to the entrance, great timing! I was looking forward to checking out this popular market, bakery, and cafe. I ended up wandering along most of the aisles and peered at various displays, bins, and speed carts. It is a bit cramped even with a smaller shopping cart. Add in other shoppers and workers doing restocking concurrently, just exercise caution maneuvering throughout the market. I have shopped at various Eastern European, Ukrainian, and Russian markets located in Everett, Lynnwood, Shoreline, North Seattle, and Tacoma/Parkland. So I had a baseline of what to expect. It had a decent variety that was comparable to other sites. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available for onsite dining. The freshly baked goods, like danishes, croissants, danishes, and breads were arranged on various speed carts. Larger sized and at great value. I was able to snag a large loaf of Ukrainian bread after the initial swarm of folks pounced on the speed carts. I just jumped in, donned a clean food safe glove, and placed a loaf into a bread bag. There are also desserts that grab your attention in the cafe area. It's a bit chaotic with folks wanting cakes from the refrigerated cases and other items from the pastry case. The featured fruit desserts and ginormous filled croissants are a bit pricey though. Despite it being past the lunch rush, I passed on any cafe items and made my way to the checkout area. Relatively small market but very stocked with all kinds of products. We tried a some bakery items and some pastries as well and everything was delicious. I tried to get help at the pastry counter and did not know about a second register closer to a seating area and I stood there for a few minutes while people behind the counter kept walking past us and ignoring us. I went to the pay for my groceries first and then went back to the counter and asked someone if I was still able to order and that's when she directed me to the register closer to the seating area. Arrived here in Fife (easy to find, decent sized parking lot) - we were so excited to try Emish Market. We first perused the prepared pastries and then walked around the grocery store and picked up some very reasonably priced frozen pierogis and some sausage and a bit of tarragon lemonade. After checking out the store and buying our grocery items, we stopped into the deli for brunch - chicken and mushroom crepe with a nice spicy aioli, a tiramisu for me, a mango mousse for my husband, and a couple americanos. We got our treats right away, with a short wait for the coffee and crepes. The crepes were large (we should've split 1 and ordered another item!) and delicious! The coffee was really good. My husband liked his mango mousse and I loved my tiramisu - it was a little dry until I got my coffee but with coffee was perfect. This place is a hidden gem. After a day of running errands with my siblings, we decided to check this place out since we were in the area. They have ample of parking spaces available. The dessert display was outstanding, staff was friendly and they have a lot of stuff that's reasonably priced. I bought a salad for lunch and it was so full and filling at a reasonable price. The danish was so big! Might I add that they have the most beautiful display for bouquet of flowers there! It was like a piece of art. While searching for coffee and cake, landed up here and it was a pleasant surprise! The Cappuccino was perfect, the coffee was amazing! Seeing the plethora of cakes, I wanted to order them all but restricted myself to 3 cakes! - Chocolate caramel cake had a delicious Ferrero rocher chocolate nested above a cylindrical cake made with delicious chocolate. - Coconut mousse cake - this was another delicious mango pieces inside a chocolate shell filled with mousse - Pavlova - always heard about this and it was fun and tasty to eat. There is a small plastic tube filled with strawberry type puree that you can squeeze over the dessert before eating it. Need to come back to try out the other food items on the menu. We stopped in for lunch on a Sunday and it was packed! But the wait wasn't long once you could get to the cafe. The staff at the cafe counter was very friendly and happy to answer questions and make recommendations. We ordered borscht and a chicken cherubeki plate with the mulled wine mocktail and Diet Coke. We found seats at the window counter looking out at the igloos (which you have to reserve). It was nice to sit and listen to people conversing in many languages while we waited for food. I have been following their very active Instagram page all year. The key item that brought me in, was the viral fruit pastries. They have a beautiful bakery with dozens of options. You're sure to find something you'd love. I tried the pineapple mouse and the Strawberry mousse desserts. These pastries are all over social media famous for their outside crunchy layer and soft inside. They look so good. However the flavor didn't deliver. The pineapple one was not edible to me. I will still go back to try others. Aside from the bakery, I saw some good deals on exotic fruits, Ukrainian holiday chocolate gift sets, yummy deli/meats, hot foods, and some of the most beautiful (pricey) floral bouquets i've ever seen. The Emish Market has been blowing up my Tiktok feed so my husband and I decided to take the drive and check it out. I decided to wait on my review as well because we planned a day to come back for a savory lunch. I've read mixed reviews about the bubbles, but on the way there we decided to reserve one so we had somewhere private to sit, talk and enjoy our food. We loved our first bubble so much that we booked one for our second visit when we returned a few weeks later. The only thing about the Bubbles is they aren't heavily monitored by the staff so people go in there without reservations. You'll have to go get staff to get your bubble at the appropriate time. We also shopped for some groceries we can't get at our normal market plus some fresh bread that looked amazing! On our first visit we ordered several goodies! We got the following items: Lemon Cheesecake 10/10 - This was my favorite item! Would absolutely get it again! The flavor was amazing and the texture was perfect. Strawberry Mousse 7/10 - This wasn't bad, the crack and filling was fun to eat. Sweet Cream Canoli 3/10 - Was bummed there was no fruit or chocolate chips on the inside like we've had at other places. The shell was also very soggy. Snickers Cake 5/10 - This was pretty good but the cake was a bit dry for the size. Honey Cake 3/10 - This didn't taste like much to be honest, I was hoping for more flavor Pavlova 10/10 - This was my husband's favorite and he wished there was more! Oreo Teddy Bear 7/10 - this was pretty good, I wish there would have maybe been a caramel or something additional on the inside. On our second visit we got, the following items: Chicken Shawarma 8/10 - This thing was massive and had a decent flavor. I came back to give the market another chance, and I was genuinely impressed with my visit. I was on my way to the airport and stopped by to pick up the viral desserts. This time, I was greeted warmly at the door by the cashiers, and the bakery was fully stocked as they were just opening. I was able to get my hands on the mango and blueberry mousse cakes, plus my all-time favorite -- the pistachio croissants. Everything was delicious and exactly what I hoped for. The skin of the pierogi were delicate and not rubbery or too thick. The borscht amazing with well balanced flavors and I wish I would get a massive bowl of it! lol. I give them a 7/10 I love my protein so I'd like to try this with some type of meat. It's definitely something to share because it'd just be a carb overload but the texture is good. The pigs in a blanket were fresh when we got it but I ate it a little after and plain. It would've been good with some sauce. The polish dog in it was good though, reminded me of costcos polish dogs. Overall 6.5/10 The chicken shawarma was nice, I personally love my veggies and that it was filled with a lot of variety and the pickle included inside of it was a nice contrast. 8/10 for me. The market overall has a lot of varieties there. I really enjoyed the baked goods & fresh bread. The back of the market smelled like fresh bread. I liked the baguette that we got from there. It was decent pricing for that but some other grocery things like we can find in regular grocery store is a slight pricier but probably due to convenience. Overall I would love to come back, they had my cold smoked mackerel and even cold smoked salmon here! I came 9pm on a Saturday night and it was busyyyy. The cafe area were especially busy. The line was unorganized for that because customers somehow come from two different spaces since it's not clear. But I enjoyed the experience there for what's to offer. Seeing all the IG posts on Emish Market's desserts drove me to visit. We drove to Emish Market on Sunday morning around 10 AM. The market was not yet busy. There was a small line to order from the kiosk or you could order at the cafe. We tried the lamb gyro, the garlic and potato pierogis, the Nutella and banana crêpe, and the Emish burger. All of the food was absolutely delicious and fresh. The gyro I loved- having just visited Greece last summer, it brought back some fond memories. It did take us a while to get our order, but the place was filling up really quickly likely because it was a Sunday and church had just gotten out. Service was a bit chaotic because there were a lot of people working, but they were all still very nice. Next time I'll make a point to reserve a bubble outside because the patio is reservations only. The market itself is fantastic and has a lot of great food to choose from all eastern European. I would not go back on a Sunday due to the crowd. Lastly, we had to try those amazing desserts. I tried a passionfruit mousse, and my husband tried a chocolate caramel bomb- both were fantastic. Very cute European market on the corner of 70th Ave and 20th St. I went to try their viral fruit pastries on Saturday evening. It was quite busy around that time but luckily they still had lots of pastries. I got the mango mousse and Dubai chocolate spiral croissant. The mango mousse's presentation was beautiful. It looked like a legit mango lol. Taste wise, I was disappointed. I thought it was way too sweet, both the chocolate shell and mousse. On the other hand, the Dubai chocolate spiral croissant was amazing. Highly recommend! The chocolate on the outside taste like fancy chocolate (similar to Lindor's). They were also very generous on the chocolate and kataifi spread inside the croissant. The dough itself was crispy and tasted fresh, not stale. I had high hopes for this place and was so excited to go there. It was such a disappointment. Where do I start... The customer service was non existent. No one ever smiled or tried to be helpful. The ambiance was worse. There was no room to walk, and every counter you went to, had long lines that interfered with other long lines. We waited for a long time in one of the lines to try one of their treats, but the line never moved. The hot food section was very limited and very cramped. I think this market/restaurant is overrated. Nearly every item I looked at could be found elsewhere for less. They claim their products are imported from Europe, but the store is poorly organized, with everything mixed together and difficult to navigate. The layout is also frustrating. When you try to check out, you're forced to merge into oncoming foot traffic from people waiting in line for the restaurant, creating unnecessary congestion. And then the clerk is laughing cynically instead of helping. As for the food, it lacks authenticity and feels watered down to appeal to the broadest audience. The outdoor dining bubbles are also a cheap imitation of the original concept, and placing them next to a busy street defeats the purpose. Instead of providing a cozy atmosphere, they seem more likely to collect dust and exhaust from passing traffic. Overall, it was a waste of time driving a long distance based on the glowing reviews. This is a hidden gem in fife. Ensign market is a small grocery specializing in European and Ukrainian products. They have specialty sausages as well as pierogis for sale by the pound. The best part of the market, however, is the deli/ bakery where you can get breakfast or lunch as well as delicious house made pastries and breads. They have an indoor dining area as well as some enclosed tables outside to enjoy your food. The food I tried was truly fantastic and it makes the drive worth it, you could do this as a brunch spot or just a grab in go on your lunch break. Emish as an absolute gem for the area. They may not always have everything but their selection is very cool especially when it comes to imported items. It's a Ukrainian store but you see all types of people in there which is a testament to our community. Service is always very polite. Trying to maneuver with a shopping cart is extremely difficult at one point I went down the cold drink isle with my shopping cart but got stuck and had to back the cart all the way back to where I entered. If they're looking to sell many items it should be easier to walk all the way through the store. Good food items but I will not come back for many items at once. Too many people waiting for the cafe and coffee/special bakery items so I gave up on the which was too bad. read more
