The sausage was big plump and yummy and the serving is two but that's enough to share! The toast was perfect! How do they do this?!?! If I lived here this would be my jams! The potatoes (home fries were excellent . The service was excellent too. Melissa C was awesome! Our coffee and water never ran dry. She took our order with care and attention to detail! Found this little gem by using Yelp while traveling with my daughter and grandson. My grandson is Gluten Free and it can be challenging finding a place that offers gluten free pancakes... we were so happy to find this! Our waitress, Casey, could not have been nicer ... and is a big reason I give 5 stars. The food was good, but good service and a friendly face is really priceless. What a wonderful little place. We fortunately got there at a good time, so there was no delay in being seated. I ordered the Turkey platter (turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans) And my niece ordered the lasagna with salad. We both loved our dishes. Neither of of us could finish them. Since I had a microwave and refrigerator I took home 2/3 of my meal, had a second meal so far and there's a third one coming - talk about excellent portions. Salads were crisp and my leftovers tasted just as good the second time as the original time. I was so enamored with the stuffing. I ordered a side of stuffing to go to make it a dessert or just an extra meal in the ensuing days. We'll definitely come here again if on the road this way! read more

We typically go out for breakfast after a several day fast required prior to a certain medical procedure. With the procedure being performed in the afternoon this year it was necessary that we find a location still serving breakfast at 2:30PM. Where else but a diner? I suggested DinerTime since we had never been there but have constantly driven by it for about nine years. It was not very busy on a Wednesday mid-afternoon, so we were immediately seated by the hostess in a booth. It being a sunny afternoon, it was bright inside and everywhere looked clean and well kept. Our server promptly arrived with glasses of water, menus, and the anticipated question of our choice of beverage. We requested coffee ($2.75/cup with refills offered). As we let our hot cups of coffee cool a bit, we perused the breakfast offerings taking up one entire side of the large menu. My wife chose the DT Combo ($16.50), a choice of pancakes, French toast, or waffle with two eggs, bacon, sausage link, home fries, and toast. She selected French toast and over-easy eggs. The two slices of French toast were nicely prepared (even though they were not the typical Challah) with a sprinkle of confectioners' sugar, and the eggs had the desired runniness to allow the dipping of the French toast and requested rye toast. The fat looking sausage link was tasty, and the two slices of bacon were closing in on crispy. The home fries were excellent - hot, tender slices with some crispy bits. I decided to try the Tex-Mex Breakfast Wrap ($15.75). The flour tortilla was stuffed with two scrambled eggs, chipotle seasoned skirt steak, jalapeños, onions, cheddar cheese, and refried beans. It too, was served with a side of home fries. While the rolled tortilla with beautiful grill marks was compact looking, it was packed with the aforementioned ingredients and very flavorful. This was definitely a hearty meal. The pieces of skirt steak were plentiful, tender, and tasty. The jalapeño flavor was apparent yet not overly spicy. As already noted in my wife's comments, the home fries were excellent. I can see us returning, if not again for breakfast, then to sample some of the other side of the menu. Went there with friends on Sunday for lunch. I was grossed out that the floors were so greasy that I had to hold on to things as I walked, even the carpet runners were sliding when you walked on them. A couple of us ordered salads and the grilled chicken on them looked like it was boiled. Another friend ordered the cowboy quesadilla and her plate was filled with grease. We did not enjoy our food at all. We used to come here a lot but the past few times have been disappointing. This place has gone downhill for sure. An above average diner with pretty typical diner food choices and some creative options. Our lunch was pretty good and service was great. One of our party ordered The Happy Waitress (a fancy grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and tomatoes) which matched our very bubbly waitress pretty well. I had a nice Turkey Club and was very satisfied with it. The third member of our party had a breakfast Monte Cristo that was too large to finish but they really enjoyed it. I was looking forward to a cozy chat with a friend over solid diner food. We shivered in the AC (in October) while looking over the menu and were shocked at the prices. I eat out a lot and enjoy diner food, but these prices were equal to many better restaurants for food that was likely going to be from Sysco. No thanks. When we got to the diner the parking lot was packed, we expected our wait to be awhile but didn't mind. The hostess gave us a beeper and said about 10 minutes, it was more like 2. A once "go to" destination is failing miserably. Several signs in the restaurant request patron patience due to staffing shortages and training new kitchen help. Based on recent experience, they've got a long way to go. The last two visits, I ordered the seafood bisque. Both times I was ill afterward. The woman in the booth across from me ordered a hot pastrami sandwich. What arrived was charred mini mystery meat between two slices of toast. She then bravely ordered something that almost no one can screw up. Grilled cheese. Imagine her surprise when the bread was barely toasted and the cheese unmelted as if it was just unwrapped from the plastic. They recently cut back their hours of operation. Perhaps this is an effort to the prevent dining disasters above. There are other great diners in the area. Go find them. read more

Businesses that care about their customers at least recognize when there is a problem and try to make it better: Hello, we are customers who have been coming to the Diner Time restaurant since you opened. We have come as a couple, we have brought or met friends, and we bring family. Overall, we've been satisfied with our visits. The food and service have been reliably good/decent. Tonight, however, was a disappointment. We recognize that very few restaurants were open today, New Year's Day. As a result, your dining room was very busy. Despite that, our server was very pleasant and took good care of us. The problem? Unfortunately, it seems that the kitchen was rushing to get all the orders taken care of. My lasagna arrived, barely warm.... As if they didn't leave it in the oven or whatever heating device long enough. Tasted good, but I decided it would taste much better if I took it home and heated it up properly. So most of that came home with us. More importantly, my husband got the Fried Seafood platter. The fried fish and clams were good, the crab cake mushy and tasteless.The coconut shrimp was crispy and brown on the outside, but the shrimp inside was undercooked. Translucent and almost slimy. Both of us tried a different one of the 3 shrimps and both weren't cooked. We packed up leftovers (leaving the shrimp) and ordered dessert (very good red velvet cake). When our server brought us dessert, we did inform her of the cold lasagna and undercooked shrimp and asked that she inform the kitchen. Shortly after we got home, both of us got sick to our stomach, husband with very bad diarrhea. Couple of thoughts... when we mentioned the problem, it would have been appreciated if someone.. ie the manager on duty or one of the kitchen staff apologized and perhaps comped the dessert or something. It would also have been helpful to hear that care would be taken to prevent this in the future... ie especially undercooked seafood. We do appreciate you being open on the holiday but hope that you can avoid negative problems like this happening again, especially related to food safety. First time here. Food/Drink: Entrees were pretty good, everything tasted decent. Bread and Apps: plenty of options I didn't order any. Dinning Area: Pretty large, and cozy. A little drafty. Prices: Relatively cheap. Entree, sides and a drink I got away for $17. Parking: Plenty of space, private lot. Bathrooms: Bathrooms were clean and larger in size. I used to go to this diner all the time. My boyfriend and I stopped in to grab a quick bite to eat. He ordered chicken fingers and the prime rib sliders; I ordered a French onion soup without the croutons (gluten-free) and a salad. My boyfriend's chicken fingers came out on something that we were not all that sure about. It could have been crumbled up uncooked ramen? We weren't sure it didn't look like that is how it was supposed to be presented, but he ate them. My soup tasted like beef broth with a pint of salt. His sliders smelled and tasted freezer-burned or out of date. They were slimy. We didn't say anything to our waitress; when we paid, we did mention it to what looked like the manager. His response: "Oh, we just brought them back to the menu." We were hoping he would have said, "I will check on that, thank you for telling me." Sure enough, he got home after taking only 2 bites out of one of the three sliders, and it wrecked his stomach. He is still paying for it. The hash browns could have used some more brown, and I think the dish could have used more seasoning in general. But, salt and pepper on the table and a bit of hot sauce helped a ton. It was a great breakfast and I would get it again for sure. My friend got the DT stack and the portion was equally huge. And they gave him a whole bottle of syrup! No skimping here. DH and I were out shopping and decided to stop here for breakfast. There is a lot of history in this spot as I grew up in Latham. Otto's, Sneaky Pete's, Circle Diner and now DinerTime... At the entrance of the building they must have had some water damage as it was roped off near the entrance. Not surprised to see this with all the cold weather we have had. We were very pleasantly greeted and seated and served menus and coffee my first of the day. Our friends recommended coming here for dinner on a Friday night so the five of us (4 + an infant) trundled over. I wouldn't say the location is convenient, as getting in and off of the circle can at times be dangerous with cars speeding around it. But, we managed. Upon entering, I was hoping to see a tall display case with homemade desserts circling around but was disappointed to not find one. It turns out, they have several long, low glass cases which I didn't notice until we were getting ready to leave. Oh well. Our booth was a bit cramped for 2 people sitting next to each other, but they brought a highchair and we made it work. The menu had all the usual suspects for an American diner, but none of the Greek dishes that would typically be found in a Greek restaurant. I ordered a chicken/broccoli/rice bowl, my wife ordered fried chicken, and our friends ordered a sandwich and a waffle. Food came out relatively quickly. My dish was big. There were lots of tender, tasty well-seasoned chicken breasts and plenty of tender-crisp broccoli on top of a huge pile of greasy, not-really-seasoned rice. Salt helped, and a spoon would have been nice but they didn't include it as part of the place setting and I didn't bother to ask. My wife's fried chicken and mashed potatoes were pretty good, and our friend's enjoyed their food. It isn't a bad diner. For breakfast, I bet they are as good as the others. I missed some of the Greek options but since they don't claim to be a Greek diner I can't fault them for that. Service was very friendly and everyone seemed to fawn over Harrison. Here's what I love about them: - They have a vast selection that can please everyone in the family - There are a ton of Gluten Free options, which is a plus for one of our family members - The tables are roomy and allow enough room for the kids to color while we wait for food. - They have mimosas and bloody mary's! - Servers are usually kind and pleasant Now, here is the part that has caused me to drop my rating on DT: - The food quality has gone way down. Stuff isn't as consistent as it used to be. When we first started going to DT it was lights out delicious.
