Stumbled on a gem in plain sight: Sab Café. You have my heart! The staff was so sweet with the best recommendations, I really couldn't go wrong. The menu leans rich, fragrant, and deeply satisfying. Every dish was like home: pure comfort. The tom kha with chicken was 11/10, nothing short of extraordinary: silky coconut broth layered with lemongrass, sweetness, and savory depth. The oxtail pho was a showstopper: two generous bones, tender flank steak, and rice noodles, accompanied by a spice rack and all the right garnishes. My server's excitement told me I'd chosen well. The crispy duck impressed with its thick, golden crust and tender meat, paired with jasmine rice and steamed vegetables. Even the wings--simple and crisp--spoke to care in the kitchen. Drinks shone too: The moon light saketini was so! good! And the Lady Apple Saketini struck a lovely balance of mild sweetness and polish. With quick, kind service and outdoor seating, Sab Café delivers both warmth and flavor. I loved that I could people watch while eating an absolutely divine meal. One to remember for sure. On the pricier side but absolutely worth it. Also, be warned: you can pay ~less~ by paying with cash.

We had a lovely server on the patio Fridayafternoon. We had pinot grigio and sauv blanc and enjoyed the patio lounge. The chicken sate was juicy and the peanut sauce spot on.

I'll keep this review short and sweet. We had a great time at Sab Cafe. Every single staff remember was incredibly sweet and hospitable. The food was very tasty and it was all reasonably priced. It's also tucked away in a little private spot. I recommend it!

I visited Sab with a fairly large group early on a Saturday night and they were able to accommodate us and get us seating outside. Great people watching spot and lots going on in this little plaza! The staff were very attentive and brought our food out pretty fast. I had the kimchi fried rice with shrimp which was delicious. Had a bit of a kick to it but nothing crazy. Others in my group got the red curry and the pad thai and they loved both dishes!

Pad lad na with tofu, made vegan by omitting the fish sauce

Billed as Thai fusion, I wasn't expecting authentic Thai. I saw from online reviews that they could make some dishes vegan, so I decided to try them out for lunch. I ordered their veggie salad rolls ($7) to start and their pad lad na with tofu ($15) without fish sauce for may main, ordered "hot" in spiciness. The salad rolls came out in about 5 minutes. These were pretty bare bones, with ice berg lettuce, julienned carrot and cucumber, vermicelli, and served with a sweet peanut sauce for dipping. Serviceable but nothing special. The lad na came out shortly after and that was sure nice. The portion was massive, coming with wide rice noodles, carrots, cabbage, broccoli and deep fried tofu, covered in a sweet yellow bean gravy. It was amply spicy but a bit too sweet for the style -- this is supposed to be a more savoury, gentler gravy. Still, the flavours were rich and very nicely balanced despite being a bit sweeter than standard. Very friendly service. Very good food and value. Definitely recommended for less authentic Thai.

What a fantastic little restaurant. This isn't my first experience at Sab. So let me paint you a little picture ... Imagine the cutest little outside restaurant in the middle of a downtown city. You'd expect high prices, snooty service, and probably good food. Well, you only get the most important feature on that list... And that's great food! Surprisingly, you also get super sweet service and generally pretty reasonable prices. So I ordered hot jasmine tea. For three dollars you get a large pot of steaming hot tea. For five dollars you get two freshly made and delicious eggrolls. For a relatively inexpensive price you get a masterfully seasoned portion of dinner. I ordered the pork pad-thai. An advantage of this restaurant is you can get your pad-thai however you like it. They adjust the spice and they also adjust the protein. Most come with chicken. I think chicken is boring -- I want pork. Guess what... They make pork. Delicious. My total bill with drink, appetizer, and a dinner big enough to feed two people (Note: The couple next to me shared one entrée) was $24. That's amazing. So... Five out of five. Not one thing to complain about. Perfect cuisine, perfect location, perfect service in downtown Saint Pete. Check them out.

Nice lunch time stop food was delicious. We had the egg roll and shrimp spring roll and were superb. Service was excellent and friendly. The views and the ambiance was fantastic. The indoor outdoor seating with views on f the building was pleasing.

We arrived around 10:15 p.m. on a Friday night, with the restaurant closing at 11:00 p.m. Maybe that contributed to our experience, although several other parties were seated after us, so we weren't the last customers of the evening. We ordered quickly since we already knew what we wanted. My partner ordered the special, I ordered the ramen, and we shared the fried shrimp dumplings as an appetizer. Our server was friendly and attentive, though it was clear the staff was beginning to transition into closing mode. Unfortunately, that affected the atmosphere. While we were still eating, employees were spraying tables and mopping nearby. The smell of cleaning chemicals mixed with our food, which made the dining experience less enjoyable. When my ramen arrived, it looked more like a wonton soup or pho than the ramen I was expecting. I didn't question it because I assumed it might be their interpretation of the dish. However, the broth was quite bland, and the vegetables were still somewhat undercooked. The chicken had no seasoning, it tasted like it was boiled within the broth. After a few bites and sips, I decided not to finish it. My partner seemed to enjoy his meal, though he tends to be pretty easygoing when it comes to food. I didn't try his dish since it was very spicy and that's not really my thing. The restaurant is in a great location on Central Avenue, which makes it a fun area to walk around and people-watch. However, with most dishes priced around $20, I expected a better overall experience and higher quality food. Unfortunately, this isn't a place I would return to.

I visited before a Rays game and was immediately impressed by both the service and the food. The staff was attentive without hovering, the pacing was excellent, and the entire experience felt polished and intentional. I ordered the Bibimbap with bulgogi steak, tofu, fried egg, kimchi, vegetables, gochujang, and crispy rice, along with two spring rolls. What stood out most was the balance. The dish delivered heat, sweetness, savory depth, texture, and freshness without relying on heavy sauces or excessive portions. Every ingredient maintained its own identity while contributing to the overall flavor of the dish. Too many restaurants create flavor by drowning food in sauce. Hawkers does it through seasoning, spices, and technique. There was no puddle of sauce at the bottom of the bowl, no overly sweet glaze, and no greasy heaviness. The rice absorbed flavor without becoming soggy, and the kimchi, vegetables, egg, tofu, and bulgogi worked together beautifully. The spring rolls were equally impressive. Light, crisp, delicate, and perfectly executed, with a thin wrapper and just the right amount of crunch. What impressed me most was that I left satisfied, not stuffed. The portions were thoughtful, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the flavors were layered rather than overwhelming. Since moving to Florida, this ranks as one of the best restaurant meals I have had. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing from beginning to end. My friend and I both ordered the Mangosteen noodles, and they were honestly some of the worst noodles I've ever had. They were overcooked, mushy, and clumped together into one sticky mass. The service was just as disappointing. We waited for long periods without anyone checking on our table. Our dirty plates sat on the table for a very long time, and eventually I gathered them myself and handed them to a staff member because no one came to clear them. Since we were celebrating my friend's birthday, I wanted to order a dessert. Instead of simply taking the order, the server immediately focused on asking whether I was okay with the price, which felt unnecessary and awkward. At the end of the meal, we asked for the birthday guest's meal to be split among the rest of us. Unfortunately, that request was ignored, and the entire amount was added to my bill instead. The next day I called the restaurant to share my concerns. No one followed up with me as promised. On top of that, I noticed two separate charges on my credit card, so I called again and spoke with a manager. The response I received was extremely dismissive. I was simply told there was nothing they could do. I work in the hospitality industry myself, so I understand that mistakes can happen. However, what truly disappointed me was not just the food or the service it was the complete lack of concern for a guest's experience. I have rarely encountered such an indifferent attitude toward customer feedback. I wanted to share my experience so other guests know what to expect.

Even the cart on the street could do better work than a fancy one. So, walking into PIN Wok & Bowl I thought it would be worth the try. It could not be a bad choice. And it was not. It was authentic in many ways. Walking in we sat down and the gentleman came over with the menu and water. We took a lok and could not decide. It all sounded great. We knew we needed to have some dumplings to start. After that it was a touch choice. I was not decided so I asked what he would recommend if he had to decide. He told me he would get the RAINBOW BOWL. That was one of my choices. Placing the order we waited. And not for long. Out came the STEAMED PORK DUMPLING. It was well packed and had the correct dipping sauce. With my sticks in hand I picked one up, gave it a dip and tried. It was ideal. Think and rich. Well seasoned. Slightly warm and moist. It was perfect and just enough to give you a taste of what is ahead. And that did not take long. Up next we had the order. First was the RAINBOW POKE BOWL. This was a combination of tuna, salmon, cucumber slices, shredded carrot and red cabbage, a good portion of edamame, flakes of scallion, tobiko with kinchi sauce and a touch of sesame seed spicy mayo. It was wonderful. We also had Unagi Bowl, which is not easy to find. This was combination of BBQ eel, tamago, crab, shredded red cabbage, edamame, masago, with eel sauce sesame seed and scallion. Very traditional. And, as with the Rainbow bowl, the fish was very fresh. There was no problem eating it. It was a great meal, and at a great price. The team were perfect. And it does get a crowd of local people. Just as you would find if you were in. Thailand, Vietnam or in Japan. That is what is special. It is a combination itself with the food from the region which was always a mix of various meals that are combined and seasoned as one. It was like being living back in that area of the world. I already have an idea of what I will get next time I go. And, if I didn't I would just as one of the people there. They would recommend what they might order for themselves that day. As they say in Thailand: Khopkhun.
