Next time I would try to order chicken pho with the beef broth as it had more rich flavors . The chicken wings 5/5 were one of the surprises of the meal crispy, well-seasoned, and came with a sweet chili sauce. The fresh spring rolls 4/5 were exactly what I was craving peanut sauce was great. For drinks, I loved the mango smoothie 5/5 It tasted like real mango instead of syrup. Our first meal in St. Pete's and it did not disappoint! We were a little taken back because it looked like a hole in a wall, but it was so spacious inside. When you first entered, you get hit by this delicious smell, so you know you're in for a good meal. We ordered pho with fresh pho noodles, spring rolls, and the fried chicken with fish sauce glaze. The pho broth was amazing, it was cinnamon forward, so that was a nice surprise. Pretty good pho in st pete. The unique thing about this place is they have an option for fresh noodles. These noodles are softer and they look hand cut because they are wider than the store-bought kind and they are not perfectly uniform size. I really liked the veggies included in the vegan pho. They had the usual broccoli and carrots and cabbage, but they also included jicama (i think) and had different types of softness in carrot, some were reallly soft and some were crunchy. One of the best places for pho in the area. As far as food quality, I've never been disappointed. Quantity is a different story. I'm not sure why the meatballs are policed so heavily, but I'm about done with ordering from Special Pho because they seem to not understand what a double order of meatballs is. It has shrimp, squid, imitation crab meat, fish cake. The soup is good. This a not bad soup noodle. Noodle is a bit less. Protein is good. This location of Special Pho is my jam! The vibe is more modern than the older building location, cleaner, and they have additional seasonal menus and drinks. I can't eat here without ordering their Goi Cuon (tofu version) and their shrimp and pork wonton soup in various forms. You can get their shrimp and pork wontons as an appetizer soup or as a noodle soup meal called Hu Tieu. If you order the Hu Tieu, I recommend it without the hot lettuce becuse the lettuce adds too much lettuce flavor to the meaty broth. Their small wontons are wonderfully tender, filled with flavorful shrimp, ground pork, and black pepper in a meaty broth filled spiced with green onion and fried crunchy pork bits. All of their desserts are delicious and not too sweet, and their rice plates are also quite good. If I could, I would be here every week. read more

We were told about this place from a friend and we decided to go try it out after a day out at the St. Pete Pier. Seating was immediate but after that, it was not so smooth. We waited almost 10 minutes to even get service at our table, we didn't even have water. Finally our waiter came and took our order and was gonna bring our water but we waited another 10-15 minutes for that. Thankfully, my husband ordered a Vietnamese Iced Coffee or else we would have nothing to drink. The wait for the food was long too, it was 20-25 minutes overall for chicken wings and pho. We finally asked for water too and finally got it. Chicken Wings: 5/5, delish. Pho: Noodles were a bit wider than usual and it seemed handmade but it was breaking as we were picking it up with our chopsticks to eat. Overall, there is nothing special about this pho.
