Pro's: Private, beach, drinks and food readily available, pool. Con's: None Go back?: Absolutely! More... Sabal Playa was a shore excursion option for our cruise. What a great pick! Transport was easy, service was excellent and the FOOD!!!! We ordered chips and guacamole and the chicken flautas. Sounds simple enough but it was over the top! The guac was bright and fresh. This order came with green tomatillo salsa and red...what a treat! Three dips! The flautas sat on a bed of black beans but did not make the flautas soggy. Pickled onions on top, sour cream....yum! Excellent location to spend a day at the sea in December. Just a note on December...the ocean was too chilly for me to get into but I am a wimp about cold water. The pool was, as well...but again, wimp. Please go and enjoy! read more

I initially thought this place was great, I love how lukewarm the pool water was, it was a welcome change from the cold cruise ship pool. Until this large, balding, with grey hair waiter ruined it for me: I got yelled at by big baldy for sitting at a table while wearing wet clothes. Mea Culpa, I know. But: 1) this is a resort with a pool, facing the beach. Expect your guests to be wet. Maybe use a seat cushion that is waterproof? 2) yelling at a guest? really? This guy should be working in the back, peeling shrimp and not facing paying customers! By what I have seen, there's not very many customers in this resort, and this is how you treat guests? I was motioned to sit by an area where I can eat; bless his heart he think i still want to spend money on this awful resort. Well screw that I lost my appetite and I'd rather not try their overpriced menu. Not only did I lose my appetite, I lost interest in the place and I just wanted to return back to the ship. All I am saying is not under any circumstances should you f*cking yell at a paying customer and embarass them in front of other guests! Period! There are diplomatic ways of telling customers when they are at fault, it's like this guy was raised in a barn, no common decency whatsoever. Some time later, saw baldy all chummy with white customers! So I can't help but feel discriminated! After this incident I just realized how much of a snoozefest this excursion was. They have an infinity pool and that's basically it. They have nothing else to offer. Certainly not good customer service. I will never visit this godawful racist place again. And I will also leave a scathing review in this cruise ship's excusion page. read more

My mother and I were here on 8/27/24 via the Carnival Firenze and one of their excursions. It cost about $60pp and included transportation, lounger, and pool/beach access. I would not say it is an amazing property since it is quite small and not attached to a hotel, but was nice. Everyone who was on the tour found the perfect place for them. People were eating and drinking but you had to pay for it all. Based on other reviews I had read, it mentioned that they would charge you for eating and drinking your own stuff but did not have any issues. Weather was enjoyable and it was a nice day. Would I be back...maybe but much prefer the day passes at the Marriott properties as I have done in the past. read more

We loved Sabal Playa. In fact, I would go far enough to say that this was the highlight of our Mexico cruise. Our cruise buddies booked an excursion here, which quickly sold out. We were told we could grab a taxi here and buy a day pass, which is what we did with minimal issues. We did not quite know what to expect. Initially, we envisioned a hotel or something of that nature, but it is more of a beach club instead. There is a pool, ample seating, and access to the beach. In addition, they have servers walking around offering drinks and food. Do not miss out on their food!!! I had the amazing shrimp gouda tacos here that make every other shrimp taco I've ever eaten pale in comparison. The drinks were also very good and just boozy enough. One drawback that we found was that they had some merchants occasionally walking around to offer their goods, be it tote bags, jewelry, or hats. A bit annoying, but I respect the hustle. Overall, if your cruise line is offering this excursion or you are thinking of venturing out on your own--do it! read more

Hidden gem in mixture of private condos and hotels. Next to delcanto. Access from the street or beach. Amazing sunset and delicious food. Live music Wednesday and Friday Shrimp Gouda tacos was basically a cross of queso fundido and shrimp tacos. Phenomenal. My husband loved the steak and we are from Texas where we get top notch steaks. The burgers itself were really good but my parents didn't like the bread. It was too thick and crunchy to bite into. Best view of the sunset. The GM was extremely friendly and personable. Came here on 9/11/19 as it was offered as an excursion through Carnival Cruise. It's part of a massive complex of other hotels and resorts about 25 minutes from the port. We wanted beach access however we were looking to get away from the constant flow of vendors since there are no private beaches in Mexico. This place is phenomenal! Not a hotel or resort, just a beach club meaning a restaurant, bathrooms, pools, chairs and access to the beach. The grounds are well manicured and all areas are pristine. Service was amazing, they wait on you hand and foot and for visitors coming from the States the prices are outstanding. We each ordered a seafood dish and it was incredibly fresh and delicious. I came with someone that relies on a walker for stability and she was able to get around with no issues. To go to the beach though you have to walk down 8 steps and the water is no more than 200 feet away. The waters were pretty calm but there were some waves that broke close to the shore at times. We were able to use some boogie boards and paddleboards for free. You can come here on your own and I believe they told me the entrance fee is about $25. Only issue is that they are doing construction right next door so there was some noise although it wasn't intolerable. Absolutely recommend this place for anyone visiting that wants a relaxing and safe environment. read more

Had the worse experience of my life at Sabal Playa. The club itself is beautiful and my family enjoyed spending time there. But they are huge SCAMMERS. They sold us a 90-day membership for $250 and told us that we get 20 VISITS and every visit we could bring unlimited amount of guests. I called them twice to make sure I understood it right and this information was confirmed. After 6 visits they told me that I had only 2 visits left and said that every time we were coming they were actually counting the amount of people I was bringing with me. So it turned out they sold us 20 "passes" NOT 20 "visits" with unlimited amount of guests. I would totally be ok paying $250 for 20 passes but this is not what I was promised and this is not what I thought I was paying for. They tricked me and they never gave me a written copy of the deal. I tried to explain the whole situation to David, the manager, and instead of fixing the very escalated situation quickly and smoothly and take full responsibility for their mistake he basically blamed me for "misunderstanding." There was no misunderstanding, David, and you know it. What a shame to treat your customers who were trying to support you during these difficult times so poorly. Unbelievable. We will definitely not gonna go back there after such a terrible experience and we will make sure that all our friends and family who live in PV or come visit know about these scammers. We felt like they ripped us off. So BEWARE. Do not buy anything unless they give it to you in writing. Don't make the same mistake I did by just trusting what they said. They will screw your over and won't even blink. Trust me. read more

Incredible location--beautiful pool, kid pool, kid playground, beach and restaurant! Nice showers and shampoo and bathrooms very clean. We ordered drinks, kid meal, chicken tacos, octopus tacos--everything was reasonably priced in pesos and the staff was very attentive. Was one of our most relaxing excursions from our cruise --we were able to sit by the pool watch the kids in the water from the pool chairs in the shade of the umbrellas and enjoy the ocean in between the great food. read more

Beautiful beach club. For 400 pesos you get use of lounge chairs, umbrella, towels and showers. The property has a nice infinity pool and ocean access. The restaurant is very good and offers a variety of food items. We had sushi, shrimp quesadillas, nachos and a variety of drinks. The service is good but limited. I took one star away because the two days we went the WIFI did not work. It's a bit hidden, we passed by it both times we drove by. read more
