The interior gave a very country/homey vibe. We came on a Wednesday afternoon and it was pretty packed, but we were able to get seated right away. I ordered the SmokeHouse Pita (gyro) with fries and my friend ordered the Chicago Gyros Pita with Greek fries. SmokeHouse Pita (gyro) with fries: The dish wasn't bad, but the sauce was very overwhelming. Every bite was as if I was eating BBQ sauce alone. However, the meat and pita itself were pretty good! The fries were too--basic cut fries that were crispy! Chicago Gyros Pita with Greek fries: My friend didn't hate or love her dish. She didn't say much about it except that it was alright. Home girl was too busy crying (story below lol). In general, I don't think the dishes were bad, they just weren't typical gyros--very American fusion. If you like American-style Mediterranean food, it's probably a good stop, but for authentic Mediterranean food, I would pass. Also, prior to getting our food, our eyes were stinging a lot because of the onions being cut in the kitchen. With stinging, watery eyes, it didn't give much of a great eating experience. I'm 1000% sure the chef was cutting onions - and because the kitchen was so exposed to the dining area, our eyes were first to feel it. 9/12/22: Stopped here for dinner during our overnight stay in Scottsdale. Very friendly & attentive staff. Prices are pretty reasonable. The only downside is on the menu, it says "add side" with no price, so it makes it seem like your choice of side is included. But depending on the side you choose, it adds $3-$5 to your bill. Had I known it wasn't included, I wouldn't have ordered the sides (they were just ok, but the fries were good). And I forgot to check in to get 10% off. The entrees were pretty good though. I am obsessed with this place! You guys, the flavors in their dishes are absolutely incredible! We started with a dip and pita trio and got their baba ganoush, tzatziki, and buffalo hummus. YUM!!! They were all amazing but baba ganoush for the win! For my entree, I ordered their Greek salad with chicken (it's called something else but i'm blanking) and it was the dreamiest salad i've ever had. My mouth is honestly watering as I write this. The chicken has the tastiest creamy lemon sauce over the top and that combined with the salad dressing makes for one perfect salad. They don't skimp on the veggies or toppings either. It seems pricey for a salad, but worth it! I also got a side of their pickled veggies and immediately looked up how to make them because i'm in love. I was having coffee at Starbucks was really hungry and saw this cool looking restaurant. The ambience is very pleasant and counter service man Tim provided outstanding service. He suggested their popular Gyro and I was really happy with it. The pita bread was perfectly soft and meat tender, juicy and flavorful(SHOUT OUT TO GYRO CHEF CHRIS). My greek salad was also excellent and very generous with the feta cheese. I've been in Arizona a year(moved from San Diego)and the Saba Gyro was the best I've had in the state. I also lived in Israel 1.5 years(their mexican and asian restaurants are mediocre but obviously their middle eastern food is great) and Sabas is up there with the best in the middle east and also LA where I lived as well. Some of the best Mediterranean food I've had in a long time. Yum! I had the Chicago Gyros Pita with a side of Greek fries and it really hit the spot. The tzatziki sauce was so good. They gave me a side of it to dip my Greek fries in as well and it was delish. The service was friendly and really quick. The restaurant was clean, modern, and cozy. I loved the family pictures on the walls. I felt like the price was very reasonable for the amount of food you get. I have been coming to this place for years and have always liked the food. Something feels very different now. The chicken is dry and pitas hard. The grilled veggies are still outstanding however. The people are super nice. While I can appreciate their passion for God, it is thrown into your face. The not-so-subtle brochures at the desk, sweatshirt mentioning Jesus and the Christian music blaring over head so loudly you can't hear what is being said are left with a headache. From a cultural perspective, it may be a turn off for anyone who is another religion. Mixing religion and business may not be the best idea. I think going forward, I may order for pick up. read more

I went to there to scout the place since it had a 4.7 rating on google to possibly do a YouTube video on it. Was really dissapointed on the food's abundance and service. The food was o.k. regarding freshness, but if you order a greek salad on the side you actually want chunks of Feta cheese on it. Not just pile of lettuce and a little portion of scatted Feta on it. The service could of been alot better even thought I talked it out with the server. Could of been more attentive since my main courses took about 30 mins to come out, due to miss communication. For me having to wait that long after I got served my hummus as an apetizer just took off the zing of the experience. Lastly went you travel to a Mediterrenean country, one thing that prevails is the abundance in their servings, with plenty of Virgin Olive oil, cheese, and meat. Oh My Gosh, This is the best Doner Kebab I've had outside Germany. Soft and tender Pita, juicy yet seared kebab meat, just the right ammount of veg. It's all rounded out by fantastic service. Sit in the nice Arizonan sun and enjoy a kebab. I am sadly here for my Husband's Cancer treatment at Mayo. But we hit up this fantastic place before his treatment. I dined here while visiting from out of town. I wanted authentic Greek food and saw the rave reviews on YELP. I should have known by the warning on the menu..."non-traditional shawarma". They were right!! I ordered the chicken shawarma pita with traditional garlic sauce. The veggies in the pita were crisp and fresh. The pita was soft, but the chicken did not taste like shawarma. It was tender, but smothered with a yellow herb sauce that was either flour based or mayonnaise based, it was hard to tell (I guess this was supposed to be the garlic sauce, why is it yellow?!?) This same yellow stuff was also on top of my "Greek" salad, making it inedible. It was definitely not the white garlic sauce that I usually get at other Greek restaurants. That yellow stuff was awful and the sandwich was drenched in it. I know it's my fault since the disclaimer was on the menu. Perhaps they should rename it because it is NOT shawarma...maybe lemon chicken pita is a better name. I also ordered the lemon soup. I've had lemon chicken soup at other Greek restaurants and I love it. The lemon soup at this establishment was like yellow paste. The rice was mushy in the soup and as I looked in the kitchen I saw why...the server scooped it from a warmer where it probably had been sitting all day. Hence overcooked rice. The restaurant has a very cozy/home cottage feel. Very Casual. Everyone was friendly, just didn't like the food. I gave two stars instead of one due to the friendly service. read more

On my car we have stickers for all the sports teams we love and a sticker from this place. Not even a sticker for the restaurant our family owns just this place. Should I keep writing or is that not enough to make whoever is reading this go eat there. As you walk by each table you can smell each table separately because it a column of booths. Of course it's a column it's a Greek joint! If you walk thru a spread out plaza setup the aroma just makes one cloud and you gotta look at every tables plates to see what they serve there. What you dont do that you just sit down and throw a dart at the menu. They got a great menu. I read most the menu every time think about adopting a new culinary child and order the same thing as last time because I'm stuck on the Chicago style pita. I take it back, this place is a lot better than I remember. The food is great and plentiful for the price, plus the service makes it feel like a neighborhood joint - cuz it is. I've always been a fan of the Chicago gyro, adding a little char to my meat has always been more appealing to me, but I didn't realize how many people just steam their gyro meat endlessly after shaving it off the rotisserie. I mean if that's the thing you can have that as well here, but I don't know anyone else who gives you the option to pick. Meanwhile, in my attempts to stay low carb I opted for the Sleepy Gyro salad. A lot of it is because of the shape of the bowl, but hilariously the salad with meat was almost as tall as my water cup! Do keep in mind there are palpable lunch and dinner hour rushes where you may feel left aside, but honestly they pay attention. Our guy was great and even offered us to-go cups of our drinks on the house! Picking up food at a restaurant is often no more than a transactional experience. Order (or order ahead), pay, wait for food, leave. Nothing is further from this truth at Saba's. Stephanie at the counter is super friendly and engaging. Oh, and the food is always fabulous. Ordered a gyro combo with gyro meat, chicken shawarma and shrimp, along with rice, fries and lemon rice soup. I have to give then a half-point deduction for the fries all thrown together with the meat, etc. Fries were quite soggy and greasy after a 15-minute ride home. So, I will own some of that degradation. Overall, great food, great experience and will be back soon. Just may not order fries to go! read more

We were in Phoenix visiting a friend and doing a lot of activities. We were there for three lunches and dinners. We ended up eating here for dinner Monday and lunch on Wednesday! That's how good it is! The loaded fries are amazing. I liked the spicy feta fries best but both are good. Everything is really good though. My husband hadn't liked gyros before and he liked this gyro meat so that was great. We had the Chipotle pita twice. We had the chicken schwarma. The pesto hummus is great and so is the traditional hummus. The pita is excellent. All the loaded fries are good. We also had the falafel and that was really good. I don't think you can order anything here that wouldn't be good. I'm upset there isn't one in Las Vegas, NV! read more

There's few things as frustrating as misrepresented cultural food in America. This is in no way Mediterranean. The chicken was a grease bomb; absolutely not real shawarma. Weird religious murals and symbols about the holy land while serving cafeteria food branded as Mediterranean offends pretty much everyone. This place has to be review boosted or something. read more

Everything we tried here was delicious. The service impeccable. Very friendly and accommodating staff! Loved our server, who went above and beyond!! (I'm sorry I didn't get his name). There are plant based choices as well as with meat. We had George's Caprise w/ shrimp (can be optional) the ours side and with a delicious sauce! And the spicy fries (epic!!) , yellow rice and a pita stuffed with lamb and veggies I forgot the name. Then tiramisu for dessert. We had leftovers too!!
