This is a really great family owed Greek diner. The service is great. With very casual dining ambience and very generous large helpings of food and incredibly reasonable prices. The food by the way is delicious... I stuffed myself to the brim here. I had the lamb shawarma pita sandwich which was delicious and stuffed to the brim with flavorful juicy chunks of lamb in a warm pita. I order a side of Greek salad which was massive. I can't believe it is considered a small portion. It was also delicious and piled high with fresh feta cheese and olives, red onions, tomatoes and cucumbers with an amazing dressing. Let's not forget the really refreshing iced minted tea I had which you get unlimited refills of throughout the meal. For dessert I had the Baklava which was light, flaky and rich with flavor. The prices here also can't be beat some of the most reasonable I've seen in a long time. I will certainly be returning here again soon. read more

I was so surprised at how QUICK the service was! The pickled veggies are worth visiting alone, I wish I could have taken home an entire jar. First time at Saba's Medeterarian Kitchen. Sat outside on the patio with friend for lunch. Menu has lots of choices. Had the smokehouse pita and baklava for desert. Pita was large with caramelized onion, cheddar cheese, gyro meat, and a chipotle barbecue sauce. Interesting combination. Wasn't quite sure why they called it smokehouse until I got to the BBQ sauce and then everything clicked together. Service was very good as was the food. Patio was perfect with a light breeze. They have mediterranean dishes with modern twists of curry and spices. Very healthy and delicious. I enjoyed the George's Kofta Pita. Came here with co-workers. Have not experienced a lot of Greek/Mediterranean food aside from the occasional Gyro ("Guy Row" if you're from the part of Illinois I'm from). I enjoyed this quaint restaurant and would not mind going back to it in the future. The atmosphere is really nice, and our waitress was just amazing . She was incredibly kind and fun! My only complaints are the fact that the dolma is from a can and because of that, my platter was incredibly overpriced. Of course I don't expect a restaurant to be able to prepare every single thing on the menu in house, however I strongly believe that at least items that are "main items" and cost more than other sections of the menu (like sides) should be made in-house. The food was still tasty, especially the lamb shank and baba gannouj. The hummus was really lacking in flavor. I did enjoy the baklava, I liked the addition of cinnamon although it could use less and could definitely do without the sweet sauce. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would be willing to come back. Edit: Thanks so much for the clarification. My apologies for assuming that all of your dolmas were canned. That makes a lot of sense. When I went, they ran out of meat dolmas so the veggie was my only option. Looking forward to stopping by in the future! I am really craving that baba gannouj now. Portions are quite large and great for sharing. The hummus was knock out as well as the falafel (crisp and flavorful) and the creamy baba ghannoush. Pitas were fresh and doughy. Back in 2022, we gave this place a 5-star review. We'll never go back. The service went from "super chill and friendly" to "rude, bullying, and hostile". The food quality has gone WAY down. The "greek" salad was a GIANT bowl of iceberg lettuce, with a couple of cucumber slices on top. The falafel was like eating dried chalk. Everything was SUPER salty. Didn't love the "Jesus loves hummus" shirts that staff was wearing... we aren't religious and felt like we were getting preached to.
