Located in the heart of downtown Phoenix in the same entertainment complex as Stand Up Live, Chico Malo, and others, parking isn't easy (it is downtown after all). I stopped by on a Sunday around 6:30 p.m. Ambiance (3.5/5): Pretty much your standard fast casual experience. Clean, comfortable, and modern. With two rooms with both tables and booths. I sat at a booth. Service (3.5/5): Service isn't a big part of the experience. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. After that, the service experienc eends. Drinks (3/5): Pretty much your standard assortment of soft drinks. Food (3/5): If the name wasn't a giveaway, Nick The Greek serves Greek food. I had the steak kebab which is a new menu item. The kebab consists of steak, lettuce, fries, paprika, onions, and tzatziki. I made it a combo with fries and a drink. Overall, an average meal. A little on the smaller side when it comes to the portion size too. I've had a bunch of excellent kebabs in my day. The food here is a notch or two below that. Not bad by any means, just average. The meat lacked the seasoning and tenderness that would make it an A+ meal. With that being said, if you're looking for a quick meal downtown, Nick the Greek makes for a decent choice. read more

I got the steak wrap meal and the steak was honestly pretty good, best I've had in Arizona. My only complaint is there's not much steak and also not much sauce so it resulted in too much bread. Fah-fah, fah-fah-falafel! Nick the Greek was a great spot to grab a quick bite to eat while in town for a conference. Located just a couple of blocks away from the Phoenix Convention Center, the fast casual restaurant is a great spot for dine in or takeout and stays open until 9pm. The menu has many different sides, bowls and sandwiches that can be customized with preferred protein and ingredients. I went with the Mediterranean bowl with falafel and the falafels were freshly prepared with a crispy exterior and soft inside, and the bowl included a wide variety of toppings from crispy chickpeas, cucumbers, pickled onions and more. Ordering and pick up was easy however the young lady at the register did have some trouble answering questions about the ingredients used in the menu options. I noticed that the Mediterranean bowl included toum, which was unfamiliar to me, so I asked her if this included any dairy ingredients. She wasn't able to answer me, however after doing a quick google search on my phone, I discovered that this is a Lebanese garlic dip, traditionally prepared without dairy. Luckily I don't have any food allergies, just preferences, but recommend that they have an easy way for staff to double check ingredients for those who do have serious food restrictions. I added a drink and with taxes, my total was just under $20. The portion size was generous and everything was very fresh and filling. Thumbs up! read more

Today we tried this location. The food was good. The service was good and the girl working the front counter was nice but this is located in downtown Phoenix. There are quite a few homeless people downtown. While we were inside eating, 3 different homeless people came inside and used the soda/ice machine. They touched items around the area. They just walked in said hello and went and filled up their own cups with ice and water. One lady went up to the front counter and asked for a cup. She then went and got some ice and water. She actually came back in and asked for a second cup so she could get water for someone else. What bothered me was that none of them washed their hands before they used the soda machine and the items on the counter. They were all very dirty. Don't know how this is safe or sanitary for actual customers. . No employee went over to wipe down the area of the machine. Needles to say we did not go and refill our drinks. How many other homeless people did this throughout the day. Yes, we felt a little gross because we had used that same machine. We will never come back to this location. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Maybe the health dept should know about this. read more

I work nearby and decided to stop in and try a pita. I downloaded the app and tried to place an order. The app said that the restaurant did not exist. I walked down and had to place my order in person. I have never had a pita with mustard on it so I asked for cucumber sauce. It took about 15 minutes for my meal to come out and I tried to go the bathroom while waiting. There was a code needed for the door and there was a line at the front. I grabbed my food and headed back to the office. All and all the food was good. The side salad was so small for $5.99 it was not worth it. This fast-casual restaurant serves authentic Greek street food. Customers can build their own bowls and dishes with a variety of fresh ingredients and proteins, including beef, chicken, falafel, and traditional pork. We both tried the beef/lamb gyro combo. I had mine with Greek fries, and Shanda selected the Greek salad. The gyro meat was so flavorful; it really stood out. I enjoyed the Greek fries. The Greek salad's veggies were cut a little thick and could have used a little more lettuce and some balsamic vinegar. They are located at the CityScape complex downtown, a Greek food hidden gem. Oswaldo welcomed me to my first and very enjoyable Nick The Greek experience. Im quite picky about my Greek food and this was satisfying as I'm getting over a chest cold, not feeling so great. The Avgolemona Soup was the perfect sustenance to give my body, it was soul warming. I also treated myself to baklava which they make a delicious version of this sweet dessert. Nicks is a great destination for lunch downtown or within walking distance from cityscape. They get extremely busy around noon, but that is a good thing and speaks to the food and service. I get a gyros bowl, which consists of lamb or chicken, rice and vegetables. They are pretty big bowls so you can make two meals out of it. It's not a big restaurant so it's very likely that seating will be limited or unavailable. Keep that in mind if you are going. read more

Nick the Greek on Washington St has many classics. I enjoyed getting good Greek food in a timely manner. I love the variety of the menu. You can get a classic gyro with different meat options or veggie, salads, and bowls. Also dessert options too. I really enjoyed the gyro bowl. It was seasoned well. All of the flavors went together. It was a great option to take to go. The service was ok. I got food to go twice. The staff was not very helpful or the friendliest. But the food they made me each time was excellent! The salad was nice and fresh as well with plenty of feta and dressing. We definitely need to order extra tzatziki next time as everyone loved it. The name of this place reminds me of the character Nick from the movie Bachelor Party, but the food here bears no resemblance. I was staying at a hotel close-by and this was a quick, convenient lunch option. The lady who took my order was helpful and patient while I decided what I wanted. I was a bit hungry so she thought the platter was the better option. She also didn't make fun of me when I pronounced it Gyro and she said Gyro. The Gyro (or Gyro) platter was pretty big. There was a lot of meat which had some crispy edges and was delicious. There was plenty of rice (I chose that over fries). The lettuce, tomatoes and red onions were all fresh and delicious too. The small salad even had 2 Greek olives. It could have come with more Tzatziki, but they always could use more so I ordered an extra one. It think it was only 0.50 too which is a plus. I should have asked for extra olives too, but didn't know they had any! It was a lot of food and I didn't finish it all, even though I was super hungry when I got there. Soda pop refills were free which was good on a hot afternoon (108 or so). I'd go here again if I wanted a gyro, but there are a lot of other choices around too. read more

I attended this location with a group of students. We had about 20-30 minute wait. The food was good but the price was a bit crazy. I put in an order for $80 and asked for sauce for my gyro and they asked me to pay the extra .50 and do another charge on my card, seemed a bit werid. What a fantastic place I stumbled upon while walking around downtown Phoenix the other day. I walked inside and it was clean and organized looking so I decided to try it. Pretty good option if you're in the area! We were downtown for a sporting event and wanted to grab some food beforehand; in searching Yelp, I found Nick the Greek. We had gone late afternoon, so it wasn't busy at all. Orders can be placed at the counter & they bring your food out to you. I ordered the Chicken Gyro pita with Greek fries, my husband got the Pork Belly pita, my mom got the falafel bowl, and we ordered the kid's plate with chicken gyro (came with fries & pita) for my son. I really liked the chicken, it was very flavorful and the pita had a good amount of toppings. I didn't realize the pita had fries inside; would probably order without them next time if I'm getting the side of fries. But I'd definitely skip the "Greek" fries option. They were just topped with feta & green onions. My husband and my mom liked their food. I think the meat options were better, as we've had fluffier tasty falafel at other places. The falafel here was thicker, more dense. I liked how the bowl was put together though, so would get that next time .. or Nick's fries, which had similar toppings as the bowl but with fries. Overall, wouldn't drive out of my way to eat here. However, if you're heading to downtown Phoenix and are wanting Mediterranean food, this would be a good option. read more

I've been here about ten times now. First 6-7 times I had the gyro and loved it. You can read my prior reviews to see how that evolved. Anyways I just had a chicken souvlaki plate and it was amazing! A perfect lunch imo. Healthy and yummy. Came with a small Greek salad, rice, and two kabobs of grilled chicken with a delicious mustard marinade. Some ripe tomatoes and red onions too. A little mini feast and a perfectly balanced lunch. Also came with plenty of grilled pita triangles and a tangy yogurt dip. This is how I love to eat. It isn't "health food". It is delicious and has some carbs (rice and pita) and some fat but it it is very well balanced with grilled chicken, salad, and veggies. For $12 you can't really beat it downtown. Restaurant is always spotless. Service is always top notch. The one time I did have a small issue the owner took it extremely seriously. I highly recommend this place. It's in city scape. For some reason people don't eat outside enough but the weather is great and they just redid the area outside. It's a great place for lunch with good energy and plenty of people watching. read more

But on this most recent visit, my friend was craving anything from here and it gave me an opportunity to come try them out for the first time. Arrived about an hour before closing, we were the only customers dining in. The restaurant was so empty and the only thing loud was the music. My friend ordered a chicken salad, skewers, pita and fries. I ordered gyros, fries, a baklava and a soda. I was a bit disappointed that my fries weren't piping hot. Probably because they were sitting out for a long time. Despite being room temperature, it was surprisingly still crunchy. We both were so hungry that nothing was boxed up to go, and I really like their baklava for dessert. It won't stop me from coming back again as I could still have lunch here next time. Nick's was a nice spot in downtown Phoenix that had a traditional menu and extremely reasonable prices for the city. The decor was modern and it was nice and cool inside. We had chicken gyros and they were both very good. The fries in particular were tasty and not too greasy. They have a nice selection of drinks and indoor seating and this is a huge plus to escape the heat. The flavor of the food was good and the service was quick. We ordered some food from Nick the Greek last night and brought it back to our hotel room to eat. The food was ready quickly which is great for a Saturday night! This definitely feels like a fast food take on Greek food because the chicken didn't have a lot of flavor like other Greek places we order from. The chicken was a little greasy too and there was a thin layer of oil on the bottom of the to go box. The pita was nice with a crisp to it and the tzatziki sauce had a good flavor as well.
