A small sheet of paper to give instructions on how to cook the pierogies in a pan with some butter. Suggested to eat with some sautéed onions and or sour cream for some. I got the chicken pot pie, the mushroom and mozzarella, cheddar, the potato and garlic, sauerkraut and mushroom, sauerkraut and onion. $87.04 The chicken pot pie comes with gravy and some crumbs to put on top. They have 25 different flavors, however, they were out of many and sold out , especof all the extra fellas. We cooked up the pierogi, sautéed some onions, kielbasa, kraut. We ate the potato and mushroom and mozzarella pierogi with the onions, cream cheese or sour cream. Pierogi took about 6-8 minutes on medium heat on the stovetop to brown some. The mushroom wasn't my favorite, as the mushrooms would gush out some water from it, was a rather unexpected experience, not for me. The mushroom and cheese were decent. The kraut and onion and the chicken pot pie fell apart somewhat during the cooking and flipping for us. The potatoes were as expected, not too bad.

I'm a proud Polish American. I love "comfort food", and Polish food is that!!! Someone once joked that if it doesn't have fat, flour, salt, sugar and lard all mixed together, it *isn't* Polish... but I never subscribed to that idea. Sabina's is so famous in the Downriver area, and deservedly so, because it's the Polish family dining table sort of just plain and great, with generous servings. I have been to most of the Polish restaurants in Hamtramck, and they don't hold a candle to the consistently good, even wonderful "Polish Comfort Food" that Sabina and her mother prepare. I love the unassuming appearance but wonderfully round and balanced flavors in the combo plate... and as many say: get the Farmer's cheese pierogi! Incredibly subtle, balanced flavor despite the potential for too-salty Dill Pickle effect: Heaven in a bowl! I'm sure you will find a fave dish at Sabina's. Be prepared to get creative with parking: only a few spaces, and they're always jammed. Oh yeah: they're closed Mondays... but the famous Sunday Czarnina makes up for it, if you're adventurous enough! read more
