Tied with New Yasmeen for my favorite Lebonese Bakery in the area. Their cheese, meat, and Zatar Maneesh are the best. Perhaps the strongest selling point is their high turnover. They consistently bring freshly baked ones to the display case. Rarely do I get one that is dry. Also, their chicken and meat shawarma is tasty. They also have baked sweets and other deli items: salad, grape leaves, and more. I tend to stick with my favorites but finally tried the lasagna. Which I totally loved as a tween, but as an adult? I'm way more into the delicious goods to be found here! But I was in the area last week and decided to stop by to get some of the meat pies and hummus that I love. Got a take out lunch. The online ordering was really nice. You could either create an account or just use Apple ID. I really like the fact that the menu had pictures. The shop was well maintained and clean, they had hand sanitizers and paper for opening the doors. . They had verity of hot Mediterranean food, sweets, olives, olive oil, breads etc. Looks like they did have seating area but closed because of the COVID thing. I drive past this location all the time and I'm upset with myself for not trying them out sooner! A friend recommended their fresh breads and pies and I knew I had to try them out asap. I got a mix of everything and the staff member was so helpful and welcoming. I believe I got an assortment of 10 pastries and the total came out to $9 -which I was expecting to be much higher. Not only is the food a great value but everything was delicious! The meat pies were seasoned to perfection, the zaatar was stunning, and the spinach and cheese pies left me wanting more. After my first visit I was back within the week for visit number 2. I'll definitely be coming back soon and telling friends/family about this spot. This is a really great bakery & cafe filled with all kinds of mini pies, breads, sweets and delicious Lebanese dishes. They have superb protocols in place for Covid-19 as well. Upon walking in, everyone must be wearing a mask and all the employees are wearing one as well. They have spots on the floor to keep people distanced. You can either call ahead and head straight to the register to pick up your order, or order at the counter and "along the way" while waiting in line if you pick up goodies in the shelves. I ordered several things, all which were delicious and such a great price! - garlic sauce - hummus - mini spinach pie - mini cheese pie - mini zaatar pie - long cheese - cheese sanbusek - two falafel sandwiches - sofoof (should have ordered more of this!) - maamoul (pistachio & date) Everything was *delicious*. After months of COVID shutdown and not trying out too many new places, I was excited to try out this middle eastern bakery! This was an easy, painless process with the online ordering, specifying the pickup date/time. I walked in at the scheduled time, and was in and out in less than a minute - they had my order bagged up and ready to go! Service was friendly. Downside to online ordering, though, is that you can't see them put it together to ensure it's accurate. The accuracy of my order was almost perfect, except that I was missing 1 sanbusek. I should've opened it all up in my car to check it before going home, but oh well, not the end of the world. As far as the taste of the food, it was overall very good! Everything was fresh and warm. I ordered an assortment: mini meat pies, mini broccoli & cheese pies, sanbusek, falafel, and fried kibbie. My favorite of these is the meat pie/sanbusek (the sanbusek is essentially a meat pie in a different shape - my Lebanese friend says that sanbusek are usually deep fried, but these were not). The filling of ground beef, tomato, and onion was seasoned beautifully and the bread was delicious too. The broccoli & cheese pies were okay, but probably won't order a dozen again next time. There wasn't much flavor to the filling, as I don't think there was much cheese in it in relation to the broccoli. The bread was still very good, though. Falafel were okay - seasoned pretty well, although they were on the drier side. The kibbie had the well-seasoned meat inside, but it was a bit on the heavy/greasy side. I do appreciate the complimentary tahini with the falafel/kibbie and the bag of pita bread that I didn't have to order or pay for! Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely come back if and when I'm in the area, to try other items (and eat more of the meat pies)! read more

On the side of the wall, there's a guy taking care of the hot orders like shawarmas, kabobs and falafel sandwiches. From the far corner, I see the big ovens. This is absolutely the best place to get hummus. . They are very friendly and service runs smoothly. Everyone wears a mask and the spacing is six feet apart although you don't really feel it. Went on a Sunday afternoon and I was literally WOWED. The food was so good and so flavorful. I'm a vegetarian and trust me, they have options for vegetarians. We (my daughter and I) received a complimentary roll with cheese and chives inside (I think) and it was amazing. It had sesame seeds on it. Best falafel I have ever had! I was out shopping, stopped by to get a takeaway lunch and picked up the falafel plate (small). $6 and change, so great value! Just amazing--fresh and great value--34 good size patties, lettuce, picked turnips, pickles, tomatoes and parsley--with a small tub of tahini sauce and 2 flat bread. I have had a lot of falafel in my day, but I can honestly say this is the best I have had--fresh and not soaked in oil, spices are perfect. Nice friendly staff, too. The Sajouna Cafe is located in a strip mall on the southwest corner of Beech Daly and Ford Road adjacent to the Greenland Market. A trip to the market and the colorful signs on the window explain that the cafe is open for extended hours during the Ramadan season are what drew me in. I love the convenience of the Sajouna Cafe. I can run in and stare through the glass case at the fresh made items and choose many of my favorite Middle Eastern dishes including okra, green beans or rice with meat with a quickness. Items in the case ore made fresh daily and sold by weight in small, medium or large carry out containers. The cafe also carries a hot menu with many traditional dishes that can be made to order. One of most notable features are the beautiful displays of plentiful sweets and baked goods. In addition to the carry out option, the cafe is lined with tables and chairs that offer patrons the opportunity to sit and eat in. The prices are comparable to other bakeries and restaurants in the area and they accept EBT cards as a form of payment. Terrible experience. I ordered (3) manaeesh breads recently. Brought these home and tasted - the breads were stale. They used baked bread not sold over past 2 days or so, and heated up and added the top ingredients. I called and complained to the manager. He was rude, had no customer etiquette. I expected him to replace the order with freshly baked bread. None of that. I got burnt by these idiots. I vote with my feet. I am sharing my experience. Do not go by the fake positive reviews. We came in on a Saturday morning for a few baked goods for breakfast. Just walking in, it had the most amazing vibe. The smells were amazing, the warmth from the fresh pies baking. It was seriously heart warming just being in there. While there was a line, they were quick to serve everyone and get us moving. We decided to give this place a try since our go to place had no power during the ice storm. I wish we had skipped this place and went elsewhere. We ordered two long cheese manaeesh and were so disappointed with the quality and taste. And that's not the worst part of this experience, my husband and I got home and a hour goes by and the establishment gives us a call yelling saying "when you order, you pick up your dam order" and proceeded to be so rude and disrespectful and when we told him that wasn't us and we had already picked up our order (which was two cheese maneesh long) he did not want to believe us and proceeded to get loud over the phone and say "you ordered 6 maneesh you're supposed to pick it up" -_- We will never be back here and I urge you all to support a different bakery because the owner as the caller claimed to be was disgustingly rude, has a listening problem and does not deserve our hard earned money. I'm a bit of a snob with regards to Mediterranean cuisine. Far too many places in Dearborn serve dry meat and flavorless side dishes. I had an online coupon for SajOuna Cafe and expected only to get a mediocre discounted shawarma for lunch. Fortunately, I was wrong. My partner and I had a kafta, tawook, some kibbeh, a falafel platter, and a couple fruit smoothies. The tawook was succulent and juicy; the kafta was a rare treat with a delightful combination of seasoning and quality meat. We both loved our smoothies, and the kibbie were, in my opinion, the highlight of the meal. SajOuna is a casual place, with service cafeteria style. Don't go there expecting white tablecloths or a waiter in a tuxedo. But I can personally guarantee that even without a coupon, I'll be visiting this place again to have delicious food in a casual ambiance in the near future, and I'd recommend you do the same. read more

Food poisoning from the Cocktail Chunks they have in the fridge. Very Pricy (Rice w/Lentil) 5.99/lb where it's 2.99-3.99/lb anywhere else. Hummos tastes horrible and there's way too much garlic in it. Zaatar pies are very soggy because of the oil in it, US itself would invade the zaatar pie because of how much it contains OIL. Stumbled across this place and I think this is my greatest find in Dearborn and Michigan in general. I ordered a ton of different food in my 3 visits there since the last month. Each and every food is delicious. The baclavas are the best even compared to the ones I had in Dubai and Qatar. The chicken shawarmas and tawooks are best when consumed immediately as warming them does not help. Now that you guys have impressed me so much, a little improvement point. The one star less is for the fact they are delivering the fries inside the shawarmas and that makes it soggy by the time its consumed. And the baba ghonoush can be of a better quality. The falafel is good. 12 PCs for 8bucks with a plate of veggies and large container of tahini. And the taboulli is decent as well. The bread is the best!!!
