Sabi is phenomenal. I usually get my eyebrows waxed, but i was looking for a natural alternative to waxing. This was my first time getting my eyebrows threaded, so I was very afraid. It looks like it is so painful. Sabi truly is a professional. She knows so much about the shape of eyebrows and how to beautifully shape your face, and I left with exactly what I envisioned. I didn't even feel the need to tell her what i wanted. She already knew. It wasn't at all painful, let me rephrase. If you can tolerate hot wax being pasted onto your eyebrow and being ripped off, then threading will be a breeze. She is wonderful. I have caterpillar eyebrows if not properly maintained, they will grow feet and crawl off of my face. I left Sabi looking and feeling beautiful! I believe every woman should feel that way. I *really* needed to get my brows did, but didn't want to drive out to Artesia in the rain. Then I remembered seeing a sign for Sabi's in my neighborhood several months before. On a whim I went. I got there right when they opened and was seen immediately. The threader (Sabi herself, perhaps?) did a great job. I was a little nervous because I'm used to the threader "checking in" during the job. But I told her I just needed a clean up and wanted to keep the fullness and that's exactly what I got. They were perfect and painlessly done. I also had my upper lip threaded, which hurts like a you-know-what and there's no way around that. Total cost for both was $13. This is a no-frills place (kinda sad, actually) but the work is good so I'll be back. read more

Highly recommend this place. I really dislike the way my left eyebrow grows out and in the 9 years that I've been getting my eyebrows done, I have never gotten them shaped symmetrically. I always end up coloring them in. Well, first time here and wow, Sabi shaped them perfectly. I don't think I have ever been happier with the way my eyebrows look. No Sabi on Mondays. I have yet to have Sabi thread my brows. I have gone to the older lady (twice) and a younger lady (once). Like any threading place, you must remember to let them know what you want. I made that mistake with the younger girl and she ended up thinning out my brows. Me no likey. :( If it wasn't for the fact that I have super eyebrow growing powers (not really sure if that's a good thing or not), I would have been upset. But they have since grown back. I'm a little weary of going back, but if I can get Sabi or the older lady to thread my brows, I will go back. Why 5 stars? I've had my fair share of waxing and threading from different places over the years and because of that I've been apprehensive to new or even old places that I go to from the hit and misses. I've never truly had found the one for me. And when I learned how to wax my own brows I've never been so excited a few years ago and ever since then I've been just waxing my own eyebrows ( and its been great despite the few times of some minor mishaps mind you I am not a professional in regards to this) I've taken a little what's needed and because of that I've accomplished to give myself an uneven eyebrows this past months. Nothing so embarrassing that I can't walk out the door but its something that only I notice and so it's been bugging me for months. Anyway, I know I needed to get them done professionally for reshaping but I've always been iffy and cautious to any eyebrows salon. So about 2 weeks ago after looking for good/decent eyebrows salon here on yelp and contemplating other solution to my big end-of-the-world problem and after mustering the courage i finally decided to try a new place (oh my nerves I'm tellin ya) which is Sabi's Threading. It was perfect because they close at 7 pm and I was able to go after work and they are only a few blocks from where I work and not too far either from where I live. It's a small place tucked in a corner of a small plaza here in Long Beach. When I came in there was no customer and I was greeted right away and seated by Manja (I'm so sorry if I misspelled your name sweetie). Little did she know that I was apprehensive. I told her that I need some clean up on my brows and reshaping but I don't want it thinned out, she said ok. But what really sold me and made me happy aside from the GREAT job she's done with my brows was because of the following: 1. She ask my name 2. She ask about work and where I live 3. She took her time threading 4. Very gentle 5. After she did my right eyebrow she showed it to me first and ask what I think. This surely was the first for me! I usually just see the end result. 6. She listened and very considerate about my concerns on my wacky left eyebrows 7. I ask how she was gonna reshape it cuz my left eyebrow is so not even and she explained it how 8. She explained at the end why she shape it and that I needed to grow them out a little bit more 9. She listened to my concerns 10. And for the times after many experience from threading/waxing NO KNICKS, CUTS OR REDNESS! 11. And it's only $8 :) It's those little things that makes it a great service. I love her! I needed to find a new place since I can't get my eyebrows threaded in Riverside anymore. I got my eyebrows threaded by Sabi. she knew my arch was high on my left eye so she tried making my arch high on my right.. and I for one hate high arches. For some reason, she failed me the most with 4.5 stars. Now I have to wait another 3 months or more to get it fixed hoping that all the hairs grow out since I barely have any eyebrows to begin with.. and because she thinned them out.. I decided to come here after reading all of the good reviews. I have tried threading before in the past but then went back to waxing my brows for some time, so they are a little thin. It's been awhile since I last got them waxed and I am so glad that I waited and found Sabi's. Her place us tucked behind Pete's Burgers in the strip mall on the corner of Orange and Carson. Plenty of parking. And she was there with another gal today. I didn't have to wait long and both ladies were very nice and polite. The place was clean and had ample seating for waiting. My eyebrows were done by the other gal (I forgot to ask her name, but she was so nice!). She did such a great job, gave me a nice arch and trimmed them afterwards (yes it's been THAT long!). I only went there one time!! And will NEVER go back!! For one the works there did not greet me and were not friendly!! The women stared to doing my eyebrows and then got up and way from me to answer a phone call!! Then came back,she was so rough,rude and rushing!! She ended up cutting me really bad!! i used to have my eyebrows waxed for years until the last few times I had skin irritation and burns because they get the wax on my eye lids (probably in a hurry and rushing). I made a horrible mistake on my eyebrows and I was trying to let them grow back, however I couldn't take the look of caterpillars growing on my face. So I read some yelp reviews and headed to Sabi's (because I didn't want to go back to Ziba's). With the fear of the pain of threading AND the fear of ending up looking like a Chinese Anime character I sat in Sabi's chair and prayed I would look normal. As she started to work, she said "it does not look that good because it needs to grow back" (meaning she left room for the hair that needed to grow back) I TOTALLY understood that. I have never heard someone shape your eyebrows into what they COULD be instead of just hacking away at whatever they see. She ended up cleaning the eyebrows up some more and I walked out feeling and looking great! My eyebrows are thick and I like them that way so she gave me shape and definition. I did however, breakout around my eyebrows a couple of days later (which usually only happens when I get my eyebrows waxed) I think I am allergic to the gel she put on my brows afterward. If you have sensitive skin forgo the "cooling gel". Minus that I would definitely go back. PS- It does hurt but you look great! :-) read more
