Great food, inexpensive and pleasant people. I am disappointed that there are less than 30 reviews for this incredible food. The parking situation sucks but let me tell you, the Baja Fish tacos were fresh and fantastic! Not good, FANTASTIC. Big 6" tortillas, deep fried fish to perfection, packed with slaw and a dot of the home made salsas, these were in point! We got 2 plates with 2 big tacos each (2+2=4) and the total was $15.74. I purchased drinks at the liquor store next door and felt robbed (just trying to support). The even gave us free fish soup and it was amazing. We stood on the west side of the taco truck where there are nice clean tables. Even though I live an hour and a half away, I I will drive there again. Too few reviews really hurts this type of establishment. Please do me a favor, visit them and write a review. You won't be disappointed and I'm sure you will help someone else decide to give them a try.

Best birria place I've ever been to

After a long wait, my friends and I got our much needed tacos and I have to say I was not a big fan. My biggest issue was how much tortilla they gave you: two to be exact. I already don't like getting two tortillas because it fills me up so fast but they were also huge tortillas, not like the tiny taco stand tacos you're used to getting. The birria ones were alright in flavor, not super strong, and the fish tacos didn't have much flavor or crispness. I wasn't wanting more than a couple bites of each. I'd only come here if I really needed some late night food but even then it's not preferred.

Sabor A Birria is a newer food truck to the San Diego area, and yes, they make some fantastic food. I had a garlic fish taco prepared on the griddle, a beef birria taco, and a quesa taco with birria as well. Where the fish taco and birria taco were very good, the quesa taco was terrific. The taco came with a lot of tender fish and in addition to the good seasoning, it offered a subtle garlic flavor. The shredded cabbage and veggies came with a tasty white sauce. Very good fish taco. Both the beef birria taco was great and adding the beef consommé made it even better. The beef is very well prepared, tender, and is very flavorful. The quesa taco certainly edges it out, especially if you are a cheese lover, because that griddled cheese at the bottom of the beef, red onions, and cilantro, and green onions is sure something else. The quesa taco is not only very tasty but a great bite, bite after bite. The food truck specializes in seafood and beef birria. The staff members are super friendly and welcoming. The truck parks at the California Liquor Store's parking lot as of 4/1/22. Great food truck.

Best kept authentic Mexican food truck in San Diego. Sabor A Birria is parked next to a liquor store in South Park. Our son have been raving about this food truck ever since he moved down to South Park. I usually don't do food trucks but I'm so glad that we gave it a try. They make the best fish taco and burrito. The batter is light and crunchy but allows you to taste the meaty fish. Their white sauce and a variety of hot sauces are fresh and without question the best and tastiest. The portions and prices are great too. You will get your money worth here. The service and the way they package each item were great. Btw, they don't sell any drinks. I think this might due to a deal they made with the liquor store's owner.

Pico de gallo (aka shrimp ceviche)

Stop by for lunch on a Sunday. Honestly, I was looking forward to trying it but it wasn't even that good. We got shrimp ceviche and fish tacos. The shrimp ceviche was basically pico de gallo. You're better off going to Northgate for ceviche. The fish tacos were all breading. I don't know if I'd try any more of their dishes. Service was quick tho.

Sabor a Birria will offer you the consume (broth) de birria or mariscos the taste is superb!!! Costumer service is above and beyond so friendly and always have a smile & delicious recomendaciones. I highly recommend Sabor a Birria. You have to try them for yourself!! You will be in food heaven!! They are located in heart of South Park. They have stools for sitting and stand up bar area. I made a mistake with my directions and landed right where I needed to be. Pulled up on Sabor A Birria man oh man first customer service a one I picked a taco and the young lady taking my order suggested a taco that was right up my alley. While waiting for my food she asked if I wanted sea food consume or birria couldn't make a choice got both and it was the perfect move for a cold day. I got the octopus and shrimp taco, birria breakfast burrito, and a birria vampiro tostada Man I got this home and they didn't miss with any of these. If I didn't love my wife I would have went in to a food coma but she was there to help me take this down the price point was right for me and I don't like spending crazy but when you deserve what you ask for I'm willing to pay it. This is my new jam so I'll see you there for great food.

Great customer service cleanliness was on point great condiments the chipotle sauce is fire the taste is great the best I've ever had now, on the other hand I ordered a garlic shrimp taco but the garlic taste wasn't there and the shrimp hadn't been cleaned or divined, a course some people eat them like that but I'm not a fan. The birria lacked a lot of flavor and had lots of chili pod flakes i will Definitely return to this truck but I will consider ordering something else next time.

I met with a friend for a drink nearby and was strolling by on my way to my car. Being a foodie, I stopped by on impulse and picked up a seafood cocktail to take home. The tangy tomato sauce was spicy and there was a generous amount of seafood (shrimp, octopus, oysters, fish). It was excellent and refreshing on a hot summer day. I will stop by in the future to try other items on their menu.

It's similar to Al pastor without the pineapple though. The meat was tender and the flavor was authentic. My partner liked this one the most! What shocked me was the carne asada. The taco was delicious!! It had a wonderfully smoky flavor to the meat and it was juicy and tender. I have been craving it ever since!! This was my favorite. There's no seating downstairs but if you go upstairs you'll find some tables! Be warned that it's hot upstairs. But since you chow down the food quickly you won't be there for too long anyway. If you're visiting San Diego, this is a must!!

Tacos El Gordo did not disappoint!…read more We were on a road trip from the Bay Area to Ontario and decided on a last-minute dinner stop at Tacos El Gordo in San Diego. We figured we had to make the detour -- and honestly, it was worth it! The lines can get pretty long, but don't let that scare you away. They move fairly quickly, although it depends on how complicated people's orders are. The Al Pastor line was probably the longest, but that's probably because everyone knows what's good! Since we made the trip out here, we went all in and ordered about 11 items: 1 Lengua Mulita - This was my first time trying a mulita and it was amazing. Basically a taco sandwich with cheese, and the combination of the crispy tortilla, melted cheese, and tender lengua was . 2 Lengua Taco - The lengua was just as tender and flavorful as I remembered from about 10 years ago. It brought back some nostalgia and definitely lived up to expectations. 1 Cabeza Taco - Probably my favorite taco of the night. The meat was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. Definitely a must-try. 2 Asada Tacos - Solid tacos. They were good, but compared to the other options, they didn't stand out as much. 4 Al Pastor Tacos - These were amazing! The al pastor was super flavorful, juicy, and not dry at all. I can see why this line was so long. 1 1/2 Al Pastor Fries - The avocado sauce really brought everything together. The fries, meat, and toppings combined into a perfect late-night meal. We also ordered the grilled onions and jalapeños on the side, which were a great addition and paired really well with everything, just walk up to the ladies that's pressing the tortillas, no need to wait in line. Overall, Tacos El Gordo was definitely worth the stop. The portions, flavors, and quality were exactly what we were hoping for. If you're in San Diego, expect a wait -- but trust me, it's worth it. 5 stars but subtracting 1 just because after ordering the Al Pastor tacos, then waiting for the other lines for the other meats, food went from hot/fresh to warm pretty much, but that's on us since it was only Me and another person.

There were a couple of groups dining in and someone picking up a to-go order, but there was still plenty of seating available. The employee working the counter was friendly. They also serve alcohol, and during my visit drinks were 20% off. Options included Pacifico, Modelo, Blue Moon, hard seltzers, and a selection of canned craft beers. I ordered: * Mahi Mahi Taco: the fish tasted fresh, and I liked the crispy onions on top. There was quite a bit of sauce, which made it pretty messy to eat. While the fish was good, it felt like a very heavy taco overall. * Surf & Turf Taco: this was loaded with steak and topped with two flavorful shrimp. The shrimp had an amazing flavor, and this taco was much more enjoyable and balanced. Overall, the service was great, the prices were very reasonable, and the protein quality was excellent. My only critique is that the tacos felt a little overdone with toppings and sauces when the quality of the protein could easily stand on its own. Still, it's a solid spot for an affordable late-night bite. One thing to note: there are no restrooms available inside the restaurant.

Sometimes, there are nights when only tacos can fix me. It's no secret that San Diego has tacos in…read morespades and being so close to the border, you'd think that a quest to find the perfect taco would be as simple as rolling down to the nearest taqueria. Except, it's not quite that simple. Many beloved staples have gone downhill, while some newer spots that might boast things like a Michelin mention or multiple locations ranging from TJ to Vegas contain more hype and gristle than tender meat and substance. Enter Chula Tacos. Chula is, and always was, the type of place that makes you forget that you're not actually in Tijuana. While part of me misses their OG Market Street location, seeing them with brick-and-mortars feels hard-earned and well-deserved. This location on Palm in IB is relatively easy to access from the freeway, but parking can be tricky. You can safely assume that it will be busy and you will either have to be very lucky or be willing to find a spot on the street. Out of all the times I've been here, it's always been crowded enough that I've never been able to find a table inside, but I enjoy sitting out on the patio next to the ahumederos. The first thing that hits you walking through the door is how amazing everything smells. The queue to the cashier takes you near a window showing the kitchen where you can see the Chula Tacos team making fresh tortillas, slicing meat from the trompos, grilling up jalapenos, nopales, onions, labio, and tripa. For me, it's not so much a challenge to decide what I want, it's more a challenge to keep myself from ordering everything. My usual is four tacos: two asada, two al pastor (but I've heard that I should also try their world famous keka). The tacos though? Perfection. Every time, the asada is the juiciest and most tender I've ever eaten, the al pastor is succulent and flavorful, and no taco in front of me is long for the world. At $3.50 each, every one of them is absolutely loaded. Three would honestly fill me up, but I always want four. After getting burned by spots that ask around 75% more and deliver anywhere between 25-50% less, Chula Tacos feels like an absolute godsend of a Tijuana-style taqueria and I can't see any other contenders being my go-to. So, when I say "Tacos will fix me," what I mean nowadays is "Chula Tacos will fix me."

The highlight of the menu is the Keka Taco. It is incredibly delicious, loaded with flavor, and so filling that it can easily satisfy even the biggest appetite. The only downside to this establishment is the limited parking, which can make picking up your order a bit challenging during busy times.
