Sabor a Mexico is great place to go for authentic, tasty and traditional Mexican food. My wife and I visited here with her parents on a weekday night. When we pulled into this restaurant off highway 60 in Brandon, we figured we were in for a wait. The parking lot was packed and was had to park way in the back. We walked into the lively and bustling restaurant but were seated immediately in a large booth. There was plenty of seating. Our server was around quickly. She was friendly and got us started on drinks. My and my father-in-law had a beer. Modelo with lime. They bring you salsa and chips to snack on when you get seated. The salsa was fresh and refreshing. It was a nice mix of liquid and chunky. It had substance to it and was zingy with a slight spice but nothing I couldn't handle. We finished at least three baskets of chips. For dinner, my wife and I both ordered the tacos. This plate came with 4 tacos. Each topped with cilantro, chopped onions and a slice of avocado. I ordered two with pastor and two with steak. The food was up quick. I doused my tacos in both sauces they came with without trying them first. One of them was spicy. I don't do well with too much spice. A squeeze of lime and these tacos were all set. Simple but tasty and filling. They hit the spot and I really enjoyed them. My wife did too. My wife's parents also enjoyed their meals. One got a chipotle chicken dish and the other got a quesadilla. All the food was fresh and flavorful. This place was busy and more people kept coming in so I'd say Sabor A Mexico is known in Brandon for their good food. You should check it out!

Fish ceviche is on point! Perfection! I have tasted shrimp ceviche at a few other places, but Sabor's is the best. One star taken away as they really need to update their raggedy booths.

So we had a large group, and everyone seemed to enjoy their food. The ambience is festive, and the service is excellent. Our food all came out at nearly the same time even someone who ordered later than the rest of the group. The hibiscus tea was perfect-not too sweet. The fajitas were very flavorful, and everything seemed so fresh.

No sauce and 14.00 just for this.

Order takeout. Picked up the order and realized they did not give me chips and salsa. Walked back in and was informed if you do take out you do not get chips and salsa. The price is still the same if you eat in versus takeout. If you were doing pick up would not recommend this place. 14.00 for 3 Enchiladas no rice or beans.

This is our go to place for Mexican. I would say it's 4 star review is very close to a 5. Chips queso and salsa are always on point as well as the food. This place never disappoints!

As a Mexican, I would say this is not authentic Mexican food. The food here is targeted for Caucasians seniors (aka white ppl).

We ordered zucchini tacos wanted to try squash blossom but not in season yet. We also ordered the steak chimichanga. My squash tacos were good but thought price was a bit high. The chimichanga was also good. We asked if they made the carrot cake and the waitress said she couldn't say, we were feeling adventurous and tried it anyway, it was great. They must bring it in from a bakery. Again thought 9$ for a piece of cake was a bit high. Overall food was good but our lunch was over 50$.

I've been here before with friends a few times, years ago but somehow never wrote a review and hadn't been back. It was time to fix both of those problems. . I stopped in for lunch on a Monday and had my pick of spots in the large, festive- rustic dining room. There are tables and booths aplenty-along with tall stools at the large bar. They bring you a generous basket of chips and salsa right away. The first round is free-they charge after that. The chips are usually fresh and crisp. To me, the salsa needs more heat or spices-but don't go by me-I have tomato issues. My server arrived soon and was so sweet when handling my questions. She helped me make good ordering decisions and also checked on me often, but didn't hover. I went with one of the lunch specials, which was a good deal. I had the Speedy Gonzalez: a beef taco, beef enchilada verde and rice (you could have also chosen beans). It's tasty and filling-and goes down great with those aforementioned skinny margs. I ordered the cheese dip and a side of flour tortillas to dip in it. I just can't resist a bowl of cheese. All this merriment on a Monday afternoon? Si!!! The menu is big-and has echos of the Vallarta's restaurants here in the Bay Area. I'm wondering if it's a sister restaurant. It's in a strip mall, with some parking in front and maybe more in back. There's outdoor seating-and I know they used to have mariachis on certain nights-and people would dance. I should find out if that's still the case. I love mariachis even more than a bowl of cheese. Gran Agave has been here a long time. I think it has a strong local following-and I need to become a regular.

We had a group of nine for a family dinner and waited about an hour for a table, which was understandable for a larger party. Once seated, however, the service was unfortunately very slow. It took about 15-20 minutes just to receive our drinks (seven waters and two margaritas), and our food took roughly an hour to arrive at the table. The restaurant didn't appear to be overly busy, so the long wait times were a bit confusing. Because gratuity was automatically included, it felt like our server may not have been as attentive as expected. The prices were also on the higher side, which made the slow service even more disappointing. That said, I do want to mention that the food itself was very good, which was definitely the highlight of the experience. Overall, while we enjoyed the meal, the customer service left a lot to be desired. I'd consider returning in the future, but only if the service improves.
