I have been going to Tres Amigos Cantina for 20+ years with my family. Last night I tried something new there, and I co-hosted a friends birthday party here! The staff exceeded my expectations and more! They never balked at me saying 50-60 people. The food was good and came out as expected. They were so kind with all of our balloons, backdrops and cupcake tables. The restaurant and its ambiance was the perfect backdrop for her "Feed me tacos and tell me I'm pretty" theme:)

This place has a super vibe and I really like the paintings. The place is super big inside. Service was super fast and the food was amazing.

Always dirty here. I wouldn't be here except my husband likes it.

Hostess lied saying she called us. I was standing 5 feet away from here. She never called us. Errors are made, no big deal. Lie to me, I'm not happy. Table edges still dirty like last time

Amazing service, delicious food, and good music! It is hard to find authentic Mexican food here in Tampa with out there being some fusion/texmex flare added, so we were excited when we ate here and it was all Mexican food! There was an older gentlemen that was playing the guitar and singing. He was very sweet and let my daughter touch his guitar and play! We will definitly be visiting again!

Order the corn cake!! Always a good experience Every time we come here. The salsa is really good and they give every person their individual bowl. Best bbq wings!!

This place was alright, would not be my first choice. The margarita selections are very limited so I opted for a mojito which was really good and strong. The salsa here is pretty bland but refreshing. I can never understand why most of the Mexican spots have such bland salsa in Florida ... it's really not that hard to make an authentic tasting salsa... I ordered the street tacos, one pastor , carne asada and belly .. they were all good , would order again. Didn't really eat the rice and beans but never do unless it's great tasting.

It's a kind of hidden location but a nice open interior and outdoor patio. Hint don't sit outside when there is only one server because he's busy, overworked and you could be ignored. The menu is decent lots of choices and the food was good, not the best Mexican but not bad. The house margarita was done well so there is that.

Was just ok. Not authentic flavor. Visited March 2024, St Patrick's Day weekend; Ordered Tacos Al Pastor- first AUTHENTIC Pastor is an Orange Red color. They charge $13 for TWO tacos- the tacos I got were made with very small cubes of dried pork meat and cubed pineapple with large onion pieces and a green aoli sauce drizzle. The sides were supposed to be Mexican rice and refried beans- the rice was parboiled rice with zero flavor and the refried beans were watery. YUCK! Had a side of Elote- pretty good, again not made authenticity and too much pepper not enough Tajín etc. The Pepsi was served in a severely cracked acrylic tumbler. Also ordered one mango mojito- not good. Hardly any mango flavor and huge mint leaves. The other dish we ordered was the spicy shrimp entre with tomato based sauce. The flavor was a nice flavored heat and good size shrimp and peppers with onions- Not bad but again served with the parboiled rice and beans. Sat at bar area service was good and the place is large with a nice fountain in the middle. The place has so much potential but the food lacks in authentic flavor. Overall visit was ok at best. Probably won't seek out the trip to eat here again.

First let me start with the service, it was really good. The food however my gosh. They give you so much food like overwhelmingly so. That's a good thing though. The burritos was good. The chips and salsa are good. The wings could use some seasoning but outside that, I enjoyed it. The atmosphere was nice as well. I will recommend this place especially if you're looking for a home like atmosphere

Ask the Community - Tres Amigos Cantina

Is the patio area dog friendly?

Absolutely! "No Problemo Senior!" Stopped in and asked as we are from out of the area. They directed us to their outdoor patio and brought our boy Harley a bowl of cold water. Very easy!

The murals bring me right back to summers spent with my family, full of color, warmth, and tradition. Even though my abuelos are no longer with me, there's something really special about this place that keeps those memories alive. From the music to the food and even the drinks, everything feels comforting and familiar in a way that's hard to put into words. Whenever I'm feeling homesick or just need a moment of connection, this is where I go. It's not just a restaurant it's a space that honors culture, family, and the kind of love that stays with you.

We ordered zucchini tacos wanted to try squash blossom but not in season yet. We also ordered the steak chimichanga. My squash tacos were good but thought price was a bit high. The chimichanga was also good. We asked if they made the carrot cake and the waitress said she couldn't say, we were feeling adventurous and tried it anyway, it was great. They must bring it in from a bakery. Again thought 9$ for a piece of cake was a bit high. Overall food was good but our lunch was over 50$.

A pile of chips, bowl of cheese dip and two skinny margaritas-there's balance there's somewhere!…read moreWelcome to Gran Agave... a colorful, cozy Mexican restaurant at Providence and Bloomingdale, where Brandon melts into Riverview. I've been here before with friends a few times, years ago but somehow never wrote a review and hadn't been back. It was time to fix both of those problems. . I stopped in for lunch on a Monday and had my pick of spots in the large, festive- rustic dining room. There are tables and booths aplenty-along with tall stools at the large bar. They bring you a generous basket of chips and salsa right away. The first round is free-they charge after that. The chips are usually fresh and crisp. To me, the salsa needs more heat or spices-but don't go by me-I have tomato issues. My server arrived soon and was so sweet when handling my questions. She helped me make good ordering decisions and also checked on me often, but didn't hover. I went with one of the lunch specials, which was a good deal. I had the Speedy Gonzalez: a beef taco, beef enchilada verde and rice (you could have also chosen beans). It's tasty and filling-and goes down great with those aforementioned skinny margs. I ordered the cheese dip and a side of flour tortillas to dip in it. I just can't resist a bowl of cheese. All this merriment on a Monday afternoon? Si!!! The menu is big-and has echos of the Vallarta's restaurants here in the Bay Area. I'm wondering if it's a sister restaurant. It's in a strip mall, with some parking in front and maybe more in back. There's outdoor seating-and I know they used to have mariachis on certain nights-and people would dance. I should find out if that's still the case. I love mariachis even more than a bowl of cheese. Gran Agave has been here a long time. I think it has a strong local following-and I need to become a regular.

We visited Gran Agave while in town visiting family and chose the restaurant based on the strong…read morereviews we saw online. We had a group of nine for a family dinner and waited about an hour for a table, which was understandable for a larger party. Once seated, however, the service was unfortunately very slow. It took about 15-20 minutes just to receive our drinks (seven waters and two margaritas), and our food took roughly an hour to arrive at the table. The restaurant didn't appear to be overly busy, so the long wait times were a bit confusing. Because gratuity was automatically included, it felt like our server may not have been as attentive as expected. The prices were also on the higher side, which made the slow service even more disappointing. That said, I do want to mention that the food itself was very good, which was definitely the highlight of the experience. Overall, while we enjoyed the meal, the customer service left a lot to be desired. I'd consider returning in the future, but only if the service improves.
