Good Mexican food. Reasonable prices. Good service as long as they are not too busy. They seem generally short staffed.

Food is mediocre at best. Atmosphere is very authentic. Prices are great. Would not recommend. La fiesta in Colonie is so much better.

Ok we went for the second time tonight and I literally wish I could give more than 5 stars. We always feel like we are just at a cousins house for dinner. They are the most warm and friendly staff. This is a wonderful restaurant. Well made delicious Mexican food. The salsa was very mild and delicious, purées very nicely with a good blend of cilantro, tomatoes and onions. I had bistec a la mexicana which was tasty with strip steak, tender, cooked tomatoes and lightly sautéed onions. There were jalapeños in it which was not in the description but it's to be expected from a Mexican restaurant. The guacamole side ($2.99) was delicious and tasted and looked fresh (also has jalapeños in it but again to be expected. The rice and beans were yummy. The chimichanga my mother had was well seasoned. Her only complaint was she wants refried beans with it. The refried beans were good, well seasoned and not greasy. To be honest nothing was very greasy which was an unexpected surprise! The service was excellent the hostess professional and the waiter conscientious and deligent. The setting was beautiful and the restaurant was appointed nicely and lovely. It was not gaudy or overdone. The menus were well made and colorful and easy to read. Lots of choices and add ons were reasonably priced. All and all wonderful. read more

Well to start with service was extraordinary. With chips and salsa and a freshly made at the table, guacamole. Absolutely delicious. Then had texacana fajitas. Delicious. Food is ok but the service is the absolute worst. Ordered everything right off the bat, after we finally had a waitress acknowledge us. Did not seem to help. It wasn't even busy and it was the worst service I have ever experience. Maybe order to go, but dining in is excruciating. read more

Didn't care for how things were packaged because everything mushed together (plate of refried beans, rice, and chipotle chicken all mixed together) even with being careful not to shift the containers. Tortillas from the description were missing. The flavor was good, but not as good as other local Mexican options, so it wouldn't be my first choice when feeling like Mexican. Ordered a steak burrito, chicken nachos and shrimp enchiladas. Streak burrito had little weird pieces of meat in a tortilla, not a single other thing. I used to live in San Diego. We used to drive into Mexico for lunch all the time. So when I say I know good Mexican food when I eat it, I mean it. And this place has the best Mexican food I've eaten in YEARS! Nice clean restaurant, extremely polite staff, and fast service. But the food.... everything from the salsa to the fajitas were amazing. More important they left out the tamales that are supposed to be in the Guadalajara Special. My new favorite Mexican restaurant. The food is delicious. I'm a vegetarian. They have Impossible Beef as an option which I love. I've had the Baja taco and fajitas. Both amazing. Today was our first trip to Sabor. We generally dine out twice per week and we were in the mood for Mexican. We made reservations, but did not need them. The place was maybe 30% full. After being seated, it took at least 10 minutes for the waitress to come over and take our drink order. It was another 10 minutes before she came back. We had the Guacamole made tableside. It was okay, but such a small portion was not worth $9.00. Partner ordered the Molecajete. It was a big portion, but it was bland, dry and overcooked. I had the Guadalajara Special. Again, it was a lot of food, but it was essentially tasteless. Throughout the meal, I continually had to flag down other waitstaff for napkins and drink refills. Our waitress was completely uninterested. With such a small crowd, she could not have been very busy. She just didn't care. With bland food and uncaring staff, we will not return. I cannot express how good this was!! We had our food delivered and got the carne asada tacos and the baja tacos. They both came with their own big serving of refried beans and rice. The Carne asada had a spicy salsa and limes. The baja had guacamole, sour cream, and tomatoes. Both were absolutely fantastic! They threw in chips and salsa which was very good. Everything was fresh and delicious. Tacos were individually wrapped and we added the beans and rice as we pleased. It was so so so good!!! We will absolutely be getting food here again!!! read more

The house margaritas were passable & the tortilla chips were good as was the salsa. That's the best thing I can say. The enchiladas & quesadillas with chicken were EXTREMELY skimpy & VERY dried out. There was at least a half inch of nothing at the edges. I'm so very disappointed as we were hoping to find a decent Mexican restaurant near home. The food was good however the portions are quite small. I got a chicken dish, pollo fundido. It came with a huge heaping mound of veggies, peppers, onions, etc. However the chicken was nowhere to be found. It was at the bottom and paper thin. It was under the size of half a chicken breast, cut into two very thin pieces. I was very disappointed by this since the dish was $15. Again, it tastes good but there was barely any meat. The server also charged me for a full quesadilla meal even though I bought it al a carte for my boys. I didn't say anything because it was a $4 difference so I just "ate" the cost. They also forgot my wife's quac. The service was a little slower than expected and it wasn't even busy. It took forever to get our margaritas but I will say the margaritas were very good. read more

We tried this place three times. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. The place is beautiful! Just really inviting and colorful. But the food is not good. I just don't understand how a Mexican restaurant does not know how to make pico de gallo. I assure you, it is not a pile of chopped up tomatoes. No authentic cooking, just the addition of meat and seafood to boxed rice, jarred sauces and seasonings. Very disappointing. read more

This restaurant was not good at all. I am latina and do not recommend this place. There was no salt or pepper added to any of the meats. It tasted really, really bland. What an insult to Mexicans and Latinos that cook with seasonings. There is a better Mexican restaurant Across the way called LaFiesta. Or the new Toro in Colonie. This place was horrible. I mean it. I dont even use that much seasonings but this had nothing. My daughter ordered the steak and it had no salt or pepper and on top of that they didnt give her a steak knife. Like really???? WTF???????
