Had a nice little lunch on a Wednesday. Grilled chicken sandwiche was prepared perfectly as ordered. Huge thanks to the beautiful Alicia for running the order out as soon as it came off the grill. It was wicked hot!!

I loved this place! I also had a good experience and it was a busy night to boot! I ate outside on one of their beautiful raised decks and honestly it made me feel like I was on vacation. I ordered unsweetened ice tea and the Figgy Piggy Burger. Cheeseburgers are practically a food group for me and this burger was Aces! I highly recommend it! The combination of the sweet fig jam and the salt smokey bacon was right up my alley. I'll be back and if you haven't been, give this place a try.

I was at The Mill on Round Lake for dinner, as their parking lot is mostly packed whenever I drive by. It appears busy both on weekdays as well as weekends which is always a good sign. They have an immense indoor seating area and bar. Also a nice outdoor patio that is rather spacious and inviting with a pond next to it. Definitely a relaxing space that is fun and enjoyable. Upon arrival we were seated right away and we were able to get a table on the patio which was super. First off, their drink menu has a good selection of beverages both seasonal and regular offerings. Also, they have a variety of fun mocktails to try as well. Their food menu has the usual suspects of hearty bar fare along with surprisingly good additions that I really liked. We had a crock of onion soup, which was a little pricier than normal but well worth it. Also the siracha honey wings, and bangin shrimp to start. For our mains, the caesar salad, korean pork tacos, french dip panini with a side of tuna mac salad as well as the bruschetta chicken panini with tuna mac salad. The starters came out hot and all rather tasty. The confusion came when the mains were brought to our table. Everything came to our table minus the bruschetta chicken panini. It turns out that they mixed up the two panini sandwiches as the au jus was served with the chicken panini. It was hard to tell until half eaten as it appeared to have the makings of the other sandwich but with chicken. Another server appeared shortly after, but with the french dip panini. This server realized that the sandwiches were switched and kindly offered to remake me a new one. I appreciated this extra effort so didn't mind the wait. Unfortunately as the night went on, my party finished their meal. I never got my bruschetta chicken brought to me. When we asked for the check, we explained to a different server, what happened. She was surprised to hear that I never got my sandwich. The charge was taken off my bill and I was offered a bruschetta chicken panini to go. I felt that this was a nice gesture as it was getting late and I was sure that I'd be hungry once I got home. A gentleman who seemed to be in charge dropped off my to go bag with an apology which I thought was nice. All in all the service here, is a bit chaotic. Multiple servers help one another out, which is good. The bad is that things move quickly, so mix ups happen that way. I would still give The Mill another try as they do put in the effort and tried to make things right. They have a good attitude and are willing to make corrections as necessary. The ambiance here is quite nice and you should give it a go!

My sisters and I were looking for a place to have lunch and stumbled across The Mill on Round Lake. Great place inside and out. It was very busy due to a private "mug" event but the service was still great. We had the zucchini stink with truffle Parmesan. Very good. We also shared the bacon and fig flat bread, delicious. My sister had a burger which she said was cooked perfectly medium rare. My other sister had the original Mac and cheese. I had the Mexican salad. I have to be honest it was too spicy and I didn't even use the dressing. I actually couldn't eat it, but didn't want to complain. The Bloody Marys were very good. Love the atmosphere outside. We will definitely go back again.

I promised my husband to take him to The Mill on the River, in CT a year ago. He just decided to take me to The Mill on Roundlake, just to rub it in. Though the intent was wrong, I was actually impressed by the place and his thought. The place is a perfect getaway on a beautiful sunny day. The patio is planned and designed well. We only stopped by for an appetizer as we already had our dinner planned. Food was crunchy and mouth-watering (Nachos), though it was a stolen idea from a table across, as it looked good. Definitely coming back for more or may be try one of the other 2 taverns owned by the same management within a 5 min drive. If you are a local and like to socialize, try exploring The Mill Mug Club. Make sure to check the wait time or make reservations directly through Yelp.

Another amazing meal at the Mill. Went tonight for $.50 wing night and they were amazing along with the service. I'll be back soon.

There are dart boards and shuffleboard table, which were not in use. Our server was attentive and friendly, as were other staff we interacted with. As long as you like goat cheese, you should like this sandwich. I loved it. Other meals included the pulled pork sandwich and Reuben. All were good. The order of garlic and rosemary fries are very crispy - good for snack or just pair with some beers. Overall, decent place and service. I would return!

We stumbled in for a late bite on a quiet winter carnival weekend and there were only a handful of patrons, mostly locals sitting at the bar. The bartender (and our server) Edward was friendly and kept an eye on us and made sure we had what we needed. The food is solidly average pub fare, not bad and perfectly serviceable, but it shouldn't be your primary objective if you're a foodie hunter like me. But on a main drag littered mostly with mediocre bar-restaurants charging tourist prices for tourist indifference, I'll take "just fine" as a win. I'm not much of a drinker but my husband liked his can of Copper Legend lager so much that he ordered another one to go. The location is conveniently central especially if you're staying on Canada St. or doing activities at the lake.

Located right on the corner of U.S. Route 9 and Malta Ave in Ballston Spa, the outside is pretty low-key. The parking lot was a bit dark, with most of the light coming from the building itself but don't let that fool you. You walk in and you're right at the bar , with plenty of seating barside or table, if that's your vibe. Not into sitting up front? No problem, there's additional seating in the back for a more relaxed feel. Service was a win. Our waiter was courteous, attentive, and accommodating without hovering. Now the food, the Gooouda Burger caught my eye immediately. I ordered it bunless, wrapped in buttery romaine lettuce, topped with crispy bacon and fried onions. Paired it with their straw fries (seriously good) and a cold beer to wash it down. First bite? Exactly what you want. Food to temp, everything was crisp not soggy, the burger was cooked perfectly, even at well done, which is not easy to pull off. I can only speak for the burger, but based on that alone: don't judge this place by its exterior. Give it a shot, you might be pleasantly surprised. (And yes... the picture is of a burger I couldn't wait to bite into )

Mainly attributable to SERVICE which was HORRIFYING!! Ambiance was charming home setting outdoors and rustic wood vibe indoors. The food was average/iffy. Garlic peppercorn steak was encrusted with a layer of seasoning and yet it wasn't that seasoned in terms of flavor, was just ok. Ordered medium and yet it looked black on the outside and medium rare inside and beyond tough - I could not even cut the steak, I ended up just ended eating the whole thing straight up. So strange and not worth $30 at all. The Idaho skins were good just wish the potatoes were crispier. The signature applewood smoked wings were so overpriced and terrible. I could not taste any flavor, it tasted like boiled wings expensive 6 for $18. The worst part: service, or rather lack thereof.!! Upon entering, we waited awhile for someone to come greet and seat us and seemed to judge us when we clarifying what tavern was when we were asked if we wanted tavern or dining room. We were seated and took a LONG time until finally our server came to take our order. Then took an even longer time to get our food almost 20minutes. The other table that got seated after us the order the same wings at the same time, got their food 10 minutes earlier than us and their server was present throughout the meal . Ours just was nowhere to be seen throughout the entire time. Finally the food came, we ate quick, and asked for the check. We couldn't even find our server to get the check! The other table has already gotten the check and signing the bill. We then got up and tried to flag down our waiter to for the check and takeout box and after a long time she gave them but disappeared again for a long time so we tried to flag her down, again, so we could actually pay. When we did, she rudely said "do you see the things im carrying? can you wait?" Mind you, we have been waiting for nearly another 20 minutes after we finished eating for any appearance from the waiter. We tried asking the other waiter who was actually present if we could but said we needed to get our actual server. We finally finished the whole transaction (20min waiting for food, 20min spent flagging down the waiter for the check/giving the money), and frustrated we wasted so much time here while on a trip for just OK food, we just left because the server then disappeared AGAIN after settling our bill. Hilariously enough, the only time she seemed to care about us was when we left and she went RUNNING after us to ask us "you did not tip enough, did I do something wrong?" in a rude and fake overly concerned way. After we briefly explained, she proceeds to loudly shame us saying "you supposed to tip me xyz because I provide you a service and if not you're really disrespectful". The audacity. Service was beyond horrible!!! and still demanding higher tips calling customers disrespectful when we did nothing but wait and get yelled at by her for not waiting even longer and still needing to directly pay her extra tips. During that scolding we got, we saw her name tag: Avery. Overall: Foods ok. LONG WAIT for food and check. Horrifying service by one server: Avery. Perhaps other servers were better like the one who took care of the table who sat down at the same time and left 20 minutes earlier meanwhile our service was way slower, not as friendly, demanding tips, and public scolds/shames customers for it. This experience totally soured my impression of this place and now I'm questioning why people even recommended this place to me and why I went along with it!

We ultimately decided to leave. To make matters worse, the server attending the table next to us had about as much warmth as a block of ice, which didn't help the overall atmosphere. Really unpleasant

"We don't have a cocktail menu, but we can make anything you'd like."…read more That was one of the first things our server told us, and honestly, it was refreshing. These days, it feels like every bar has a cocktail menu full of creatively named drinks that require reading a list of ingredients just to figure out what you're ordering. At Governor's Tavern, if you want a gin and tonic, you simply ask for a gin and tonic. The only decision you need to make is which gin you'd like. I'm not much of a cocktail person, but I appreciate that not every place feels the need to reinvent the wheel. The place was packed at lunchtime, but we got lucky and grabbed a pair of seats across from the bar. The server who I quoted was genuinely friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Guinness, but unfortunately the keg had just kicked. She recommended the Samuel Smith chocolate stout instead and even brought me a sample before I committed to taste since I never heard of it, which was a nice touch. For food, we ordered the State Grill burger and the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. Both were excellent, and each came with Belgian-style hand-cut fries. If you're spending the day browsing the boutiques and antique shops along Warren Street and want a drink, a good meal, and a lively mix of locals and tourists, Governor's Tavern is worth a stop.
