Started with a few glasses of wine and a beer, all on point. Then came the food. The mussels were really original. They came in an Italian sausage sauce, thicker than your typical white wine broth, unlike anything I've ever had with mussels before. A little salty, but the mussels themselves were good quality and it came with bread for dipping. For the main, I had the rigatoni with chicken, which had a somewhat similar sauce with great flavors. Both dishes showed some real creativity in the kitchen. But what really sets R Wine Bar & Kitchen apart is the environment. This place has a vibe. I ended up meeting some cool people traveling through from Tennessee and had some of the best conversations I've had at a bar. Really friendly people all around. That kind of atmosphere can't be manufactured. The Verdict: R Wine Bar & Kitchen is the real deal. I knew right then I was in for a good meal, but I had no idea that I was going to be eating a piece of steak that was like butter in my mouth amazing flavor. The gnocchi was cooked perfectly not too much Gorgonzola just the right amount of black pepper, cream and butter I give it a "10" our server Addie was top-tier. She recommended delicious wine pairings with everything we ordered. The prep on the muscles was like nothing I've ever tried, but it was really spicy and delicious. I will definitely be back. The atmosphere was lively. A musician was playing the guitar and played my favorite Alicia Keys song. came over and talked to us. She was lovely introduced herself. A very friendly place to spend a Saturday night with friends.
