We got tacos al pastor and those were amazing as well, although next time I will ask for extra onions and cilantro, they were barely visible and | like a lot on my tacos. Other the tang I'll be back for sure! Absolutely recommend this place! Authentic for sure!

For $55 we got 2 horchatas, a small chips and salsa, shrimp taco meal, and the breakfast number 1. My daughter really enjoyed the homemade horchata, I like mine with a little more spice but it was very creamy, lightly sweet, and I would order again. Salsa was processed smoothly with very few pieces of veg if that's how you like it, the flavor was good, very mild. The chips were not homemade but also good for being the standard tortilla chip. The tacos are American style with flour tortillas, cheese, and sour cream which is not our preferred way to eat tacos so that's on us. If you like American style these were spot on. The rice was fantastic and the side of beans were pinto beans and not refried, also tasty but soupy. The scrambled eggs with carnitas were so oily that they were swimming in the bottom. Additionally the menu indicated they came with cheese and hash brown but mine was missing as can be seen in the photo (rectified immediately and kindly so absolutely not a complaint). The green salsa was minimal, would have preferred more as that was where the only real flavor came from. I wouldn't order again due to the oil. We may return and try again as the food was fresh, nicely cooked, the service was fantastic, and the place was spotless. We just like a little more authentic with perhaps different spice levels of salsa (little more spicy).

I found Rodrigo's Tex-Mex online via a Google search. from home in Chicago. We had a long drive…read moreahead of us and we had been on the road for well over 8 hours. WE WERE VERY HUNGRY! We found ourselves inside of Rodrigo's at capacity and there was a 20 minute wait so we settled for seats at the bar as we were needing to ingest some flavorful cuisine. As it turned out sitting at the bar was a very worthwhile experience. We ordered our drinks which were prepared with precision and care right in front of s as our appetizer was served. We opted for the Rodrigos Queso with beef smothered in delicious creamy Mexican queso along with lots of black pepper and a hint of jalapeno! ! Possibly the best I have ever had! I actually inquired how it was made. The staff were very fun and friendly and we were both equally impressed with out entrees. My friend has fajitas and i went right for a trio of tacos. Traditional soft traditional tacos with shrimp, carnitas and beef. Full of flavor. The tortillas as well as the chips were all made in house and were over the top. Going to a touristy destination in far north Michigan the skeptic in me did not expect quality Mexican food but was wrong. Rodrigo's far exceeded my expectations and was filling thus solving our hunger issues and we had a pretty good time as well. Big thanks sand applause to the cooks and the staff at a wonderful and worthwhile dining experience.

Also fill up the first complimentary salsa bowl because then you charge for more when it's like 4 oz for two people? Charging for extra chips also a bit annoying if you're charging outrageous drink prices. The positives- our friends loved their soup, beer was cold, margaritas $15 which again is pricey considering your charming $20-25/entree. I get inflation has hit us all but I doubt we will be back. Red mesa in Boyne is closer, just as tasty or tastier and about 30% cheaper. Place is tiny. Couldn't move around the dining room but it was cute and themed

The distillery had great flights and if you buy the $10 flights you can apply to a bottle! I had and excellent Gin tonic and husband loved his dirty martini. Crazy that this Mexican food eatery with a small yet delicious menu sits within a 42,000-square-foot building that formerly served as an equestrian center. Now it's an eatery inside several rooms - a part of the largest distillery in Michigan. The BIG room, on a colored, swirling and polished cement floor is decorated with couches, picnic tables, a large screen for videos and corn-hole boards and other games. My spouse and I ordered a quesadilla filled with chicken, avocado, peppers. onions and cheese ($16). YUM. Prepared on a 10-inch tortilla, it was served with limey-tasting sauce of sour cream in a tiny ramekin. We picked it up at the window in the long hallway on the side of the distillery and ate at a picnic table with our bottles of Mexican Coke and Lime Jarrito in the big hall. Although the price is a bit more than we usually spend for a top-notch quesadilla, we probably will return for fish (cod) taco $6.00. The only major drawback is the distance between the parking area and the restaurant and distillery. It's up a myriad of steep steps, although there is a drop-off area near the building for those who are physically impaired.
