What a cozy spot. For food, I only had an appetizer and took dessert home for later. The appetizer that I chose was the pretzel and chardonnay cheese. I had some Santa Barbara Chardonnay, too. Nostalgia laced for this CA transplant of going on 18 years. Pretzel - sharing size, or eat your feelings size. We listen and we don't judge. Wine cheese- so, I usually love beer cheese, this was a 10, absolutely. Dad and I agreed, the baklava was great, also. Service- thoughtful, intuitive and non-hovering. I was absolutely appalled by my food experience at cellar 152 tonight. First it was a Tuesday night and they had no whitefish and it was only 6 pm. So I ordered the chicken piccata. I originally went there for the chicken pot pies which I was told they no longer have on the menu. The chicken piccata had the texture of rubber. It didn't taste like real chicken. I asked the waitress to tell the chef. She said he just shrugged and said there was nothing wrong with the chicken. He didn't bother to come by my table to get further info. I guess restaurants like this know that they can get away with delivering sub par items because the area is very popular. Well I will not be returning there. read more

Atmosphere was nice. Staff were friendly and attentive. We were there for lunch Please, do not order the delicious looking Pot Pie unless you like very undercooked potatoes. Send it back cause not hot. Returned but potatoes were not done. Ate 1/4 quarter of it. Ordered one to take home and assumed it just.needed more baking. Baked both an hour more and potatoes still very hard. Shame the potatoes were not pre-cooked before the Pot Pie was assembled because the rest was delicious. Crust, chicken and other veggies. It started out well with us being seated quickly on the back patio and ordering the pretzel as an appetizer (huge and delicious). Unfortunately it went downhill from there. My mother is dealing with some diet early restrictions, and she inquired about the whitefish. She was told the lemon was on the side, which worked for her. She mentioned some of her restrictions and was told it should be fine by our waitress. When it arrived, the lemon was seasoned on the fish, not on the side, and the fish was COVERED in pepper. My father, who loves pepper and puts it on everything (including, perhaps, things which should/do not need it) said it was too peppery for him to eat. My mother mentioned the discrepancy in the lemon preparation to the waitress, who had no response other than that wasn't what she thought. You would think the staff would be more precise when dealing with medical dietary restrictions, but unfortunately that was not the case here. No effort was made to remedy the issue, in terms of getting her a replacement item or issuing a refund. My husband and father also both attempted to order the meatloaf. Shortly after ordering, a person we assume was the manager came out and apologized, indicating that only one meatloaf was left and that the quantity in their system had been wrong. My father ordered something else and updated his wine order accordingly. Imagine his surprise when our food came out... and he was served meatloaf. Communication between our server and the kitchen seemed to be very lacking that night. We also experienced generally very slow service. The second glass of wine my father ordered (adapting to the change in entree) did not arrive for another 15 minutes after our entrees, which baffled us. Overall, the poor service and less than stellar food means we are unlikely to return, though restaurant options are lacking in the area and we have had better experiences in the past. If you do come here, I would recommend sticking to wine (the cocktails are not very good) and bar food type options - the pretzel was fantastic and the burger I ordered was quite good. No need to order the more expensive items - they seemed to be poor value and poor quality. read more

Recent dining experience was disappointing. Food was just okay...had olive burger, fries, cup of tomato bisque soup. The latter was a liquidy mash of onions and with some chopped tomatoes....nothing bisque about it. Olive burger had promise but the bun was dried out from being over toasted. Fries were nice & hot. Service was poor. The waitstaff person was more interested in a female co-worker than being attentive to his tables, ours particularly. Very good service! Our waiter really knew all the beers and food and was very friendly- and they have a wonderful little patio out back with sun umbrellas to enjoy the weather. Compared to Local however, I'd say their food isn't quite as good and their prices are much higher. We enjoyed the whitefish pate- but it only comes with round crackers, no veg or even a cracker/bread mix. The tater kegs were fun. The quinoa and market salads were good but if you add a protein, they're $20-$25 and they're just not worth that. Same with the side slaw, which is $5 and about an ice cream scoop size. (And we didn't really like it) The burger seemed to be the winner at the table. And the waiter- he was great. read more

Pretty average place. Food wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't good. The BLT was so so. It definitely was lacking in the B department, and the toast was not very toasty. In fact it was pretty soggy. There's a reason why the B is the first ingredient in BLT. And the whitefish pate flavor was mediocre and had way too much cream cheese. Whitefish should be the star of whitefish pate! Also surprised by the lack of local wines on the menu. On the positive side the service was very good and the outdoor seating is comfortable. Service was terrible. Doesn't seem anyone there knew a thing about wine, and the bartender wasn't even sure where the open bottles were from. They do have some decent wines but would be nice if they had knowledgeable staff that could talk about things other than sports. There's a library ladder to reach the higher shelves and apparently it's up to customers to get those themselves. I'd hate to be a senior or someone with disabilities and need a higher up wine- it wouldn't happen from staff. Really disappointed that such a high end town has a wine bar with so much potential and such terrible staff. Bartender was borderline rude and didn't say a word to me the entire time I was there aside from asking if I wanted a menu, then laughing and rolling eyes when I later asked for one after initially saying no. A couple minutes later the server walks up and says "are you here for dinner" and we replied "yes" and she slaps the menus down and goes "k" and walks away. Then we sit there for about 7 more minutes trying to give her the benefit of the doubt but she just continued to do everything else but help us (like take care of of the dishes in the dish tub) I rarely take the time to write a review but this server with shoulder length brown hair was very rude. This restaurant is a great spot to stop and have a nice meal after spending the day at the beach. I ordered the Brie and Fruit board which was fresh and tasty. it was a great starter to have. The whitefish I ordered for my main meal was good but it was dry. They had pieces of broccoli alongside The fish that were basically raw and not seasoned. I didn't care for it. This was my second time here. The first was this summer with girlfriends for lunch. We all had salads and they were excellent. The weather was warm and we ate in the back deck, very nice. Today we stopped for supper. We had an extra surprise of live music! The singer guitarist was excellent. I had the planked whitefish . The portion was large and the seasoning perfect. The mashed potatoes were served in a ramekin so they stayed hot ! Also had roasted green beans. My DH had the Jamaican jerk chicken sandwich which he said was spicy but very good. Very disappointed with our most recent visit. Our food came out cold, after everyone who came in after us was served. The server never asked how our food was, although she asked everyone around us how theirs was more than once. The BLT has only two pieces of bacon and was not good cold. The burger was good. She came and had us pay our bill and again did ask not ask how it was. I suspect she knew we got it cold and that's why she never asked - she didn't want the answer. read more

I want to like Cellar 152 - great location and atmosphere, but the food just doesn't cut it. Went for brunch this weekend and ordered the fried chicken salad. Was very disappointed when my salad arrived with a gross glorified McChicken patty on it - not real chicken breast. Inedible. My husband's salmon salad was better though the $24 price tag seems hefty. Hope they can up the quality for next season. On a positive note, our service was great. read more

We live in the next city over, but thought it was a good night for a drive (only 20 minutes from TC). It was my husband's birthday and he chose this restaurant from their delicious looking Instagram account. And yes! It was yummy and cozy! We were not disappointed! The atmosphere is so fun and young, a casual but very nice place to be on a snowy evening. We were a little thrown off at first, because there is a deli and trendy shop in the front. It turns out that is all part of the charm! You can have take away or sit down service. We sat down and had Alex as our server, and he was wonderful! After a very new twist on a classic Old Fashioned cocktail, we had prime rib and roasted root veggies. I asked if there was any meat tenderizer on the prime rib and was told that they didn't use it. Always a good sign! Thanks to Alex for texting the chef to be sure (what service!) Wow! What an incredible cut of meat, with root vegetables seasoned perfectly! We both had Americanos and the chocolate, chocolate, chocolate cake (Birthday Boy's choice!) Right about then, the live music started with Blair Miller. Delta blues! Yaaaas! It couldn't have been a more wonderful end to our evening. Awesome staff, great food, and exceptional live music. One of our favorite things about this place was that you saw people who were obviously a bit older and out with friends, young couples with babies, the guys having cocktails, as well as romantic dates. The bartender claimed the potatoes were real, but they were at the least days old and quite reminiscent of flaked potatoes. 80% of the green beans were burnt (not charred) and Mama's lasagna was very dry. They just want to get out exactly at 8pm.
