So disappointed with Sabrosa. I ordered a Burrito Bowl with "Lime"White Rice, Pinto Beans and Carnitas. Flavorless. I tried to add more hot sauce to it to give it some flavor. Unfortunately, that didn't help. I also ordered chips and some pico de gallo. Again, flavorless. I will say the portion size was good but I gave 3/4 of it away because it just wasn't tasty. I wanted more salt, more Mexican flavors, and I wanted it to at least taste as good as Chitpotle. Sadly, I did not have a great meal here. Ordered 2 chicken burritos with avocado, total $36.50 + $2 tip. Gave them the benefit of the doubt that the food would be tasty and worth the price. Not the case, beans are bland, rice is plain, sauces are extra. There was no flavor. Also everything was measure with a scoop smaller than an ice cream scooper. Dear sabrosa, what happened? You used to be my go to for a good reasonably priced meal. Now the price is still good but what happened you quality control? I cake in on an evening to get a burrito bowl. As always ordering and getting out the door was a cinch! But, when I got home, opened up the container and took a bite out of the food- it was terrible! This is our first visit here. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The food was reasonably priced and a good portion. My wife and I split the Ultimate fajitas. It was very good. The steak was seasoned perfectly, however, just a little tough. Although, to be fair, it is hard to find a tender steak for fajitas after they have cooled for a bit. Made happy plates. Love everything about this place, except for my experience last night. The girl who served me and rang me up felt the need to nickle n dime me while making a burrito bowl that cost $17. When I asked why she said "oh you got quinoa, onions / peppers and guac" and just turns around to help the next customer. My bowl was technically half quinoa half brown rice and for a few onions n peppers. Mental not made, next time she does that she can keep the bowl and eat it herself. You can say as I ask for the items that they cost extra. I have been here several times, so my review isn't based on one visit. Food: 4/5 stars. It's yours substitute chipotle because there isn't one for many miles. You can see they're trained to not put much into the food based on how they very gingerly scoop the rice and even the sour cream. It's descent and properly priced for the region. Service: each time I have gone here, I was never greeted when I first walked in, and I typically had to wait about five minutes before someone took my order. Mind you, I am the only one in line and just standing there waiting. I am also standing very close to the ordering area, not standing far back as if I was still pondering what I was going to order. Even when someone comes to take my order they just get right into it without even a greeting. On one occasion I ordered a burrito, and the employee had torn part of the shell, but just try to cover it up and still served it to me. In my experience at other similar locations and restaurants, The employee usually replaces the shell itself, which makes sense because how am I supposed to eat a burrito that's falling apart? It doesn't feel like anyone there is actually interested or happy to work there. Parking: easy to find location, with ample parking. read more

Soooooo tasty! I had the tacos -- 3 on a platter, mix and match the fillings -- and my husband had the burrito salad. Oh wait, no. He had TWO burrito bowls. My wife, two kids and I went to Sambrosa earlier this week. We LOVE this place. The food is delicious, fresh, and filling but not heavy at the same time. Wow...I live just a few miles away but never stopped in because a friend said..."it's like Chipotle" I loathe Chipotle. As I finished up at the service station next door...I thought "what the hell." I walked in to a spotless, bright cafe with a welcome from the ordering staff. Not sure what to order...I took the mahi-mahi fish tacos along with a side of quacomole and chips. SUPERB! Finally a place for good Mexican food on the east end. I passed this place every day to and from work and finally decided to give it a shot. My GF had a chicken quesadilla that was "on point" - I didn't try it, as I was consumed w consuming my massive burrito, but it surely looked delicious. We shared the corn chicken soup which hit the spot on a cold winter day. My burrito was awesome especially the smoky special sauce. I'll def be coming back here again that's for sure. Add another veg friendly place that won't break your bank to visit to the list! I mean, the burrito is a normal burrito, can't complain. There's not too much flavor like you would get at Cilantro's or La Fondita, but it's also much much cheaper. Burrito bowls are everything you'd get in a burrito, without the tortilla and the quesadillas are average. Pros: -Veg friendly! (They even sometimes have tofu and chili!) -Cheap (hard to come by out here) -Custom order assembly line -Organic, Grass-fed, Natural and Hormone free. -Their XX-hot sauce is actually spicy (more of a personal thing) Cons: - Not amazing, I'm sure they're still working out some kinks, but the foods not extraordinary - Menu is so limited. And the burrito bowl should be called a taco plate. - Veggie selection is also limited -Burritos are large, but everything else isn't equally portioned (even if it's more expensive). -Bland atmosphere. I remember when this place opened and i hated on it - has got a very chain restaurant feeling in a pretty local place. But it has grown on me - and really the size of the burrito you get is excellent for the price. The staff is good and there's usually not a big line in there. The ingredients arent top knotch but again for how much you get its a good value. I'd say worth it 70% of the time. Don't get the extra hot sauce though. I love hot sauce and its just wayyy too much. From the menu (burrito, burrito bowl, tacos, salad) to the meat add ons (barbacoa, carnitas, chicken, steak and the associated price points), and the seating layout, hot sauce selection, and silver trays the food is served on, this is Chipotle. But since I like Chipotle, I was very happy here. They had the same choices for rice and I enjoyed the white rice with lime/cilantro; however the steak in my burrito bowl is better at Chipotle. I'm disgusted. I go to this sabrosa with my family frequently. Most time the stuff is okay except for one, an older hispanic woman. She is short and wear glasses. If you are white, she'll give you a super small bowl or burrito with little taste to no taste. I watched her most carefully and I witness her making a giant bowl to a hispanic male costumer but prior to that, she made an awful one to me and my husband. So, If you are white don't go to her. She shouldn't get way with this. I mean does she even want to work here? How does her behavior towards whites makes any since. This is the closest you will find to a Chipotle in the hamptons... at least southampton, that is. Its a good mexican restaurant with decent food, but wouldn't say its anywhere as good as the king chipotle itself. I liked that they have deals on Tuesdays on tacos, but its not much of a deal if you really think about it. Their sauces are good, and that special hot sauce will absolutely burn your mouth. If your into heat, I highly recommend it. Initially it was kinda mild, but then it hits you, hard! I scarfed down my food trying to mask the heat, but it only made it worse. There is nothing impressive about the food, the rice isn't great, the chicken is alright, but can be dry later in the day. They always try to up sell you on the guac. Stumbled upon this place completely by mistake but I am so glad I did. So it's definitely like an average chipotle but healthier! And I must agree with another review posted that the portion control is just right I had the salad bowl with quinoa black beans veggies (fresh and ripe) chicken and guac. The guacamole was very fresh and had a lot of flavor. Also they had an infused water that they make, wasn't thrilled about paying 2.50 for it but it was refreshing. Place is impeccably clean. It's a better, locally owned, version of a moes or chipotle. Fresher food I consistently get the burrito bowls. husband gets steak I get shredded beef (I like the texture better) and they are always fresh We frequently see the guys/girls making new protein on the grills.
