Good food, but their service could use a better method for taking orders. I ordered four tacos when I visited and received two and was told my other two were coming. Fifteen minutes later I inquired again and they had forgotten about them, so refunded me. Granted the line was long, but having a lot of orders still isn't an excuse for not fulfilling paid orders, and/or forgetting them. I love this addition to the behi hood! Located across from the light rail and Red Apple. A fun festive truck playing Mexican radio lures you in. They serve everything from tacos, tortas, tamales and burritos. So far, I tried the fish tacos which are tasty small bites, I really enjoyed the chipotle mayo and lime, great flavors! And the $7 burrito is huge and tasty! They have meat or vegetarian options are available here for you and there is a nice lil covered area to pop in for a quick bite. Will be back often. read more

I just keep coming back to this place. I started with the beef torta and stuck with it since it was so good, but today I wanted to branch out and asked for suggestions. The chef offered me a custom zucchini torta and it was also really really good. Combined with the fact that they are right next to light rail, I will be here often. read more

I wanted to love it but for some reason I didn't. The chicken was a low quality dark meat which is an immediate turn off for me. The flavor was there but I could have handled a little more kick.. the tortillas are very good none the less. Staff is very friendly and happy which is nice, and I like the bottled coke. I feel really bad about this...I really want to like them and was excited to finally get some strret food carts on beacon. The first time I only tried a bite of the vegetarian torta that my girlfriend brought home. I was not impressed, because all I could taste was the sauce. I wanted to be fair as this was not enough to judge them on. I gave them a second chance and ordered a variety of tacos. I got 1 chorizo, 1 chicken, and 1 pork. Here's why I gave them such a low rating; 1. They all tasted the same (again the sauce covers up everything). 2. they are $2.50 each...that is double what a lot of taco trucks charge. 3. The flavor just wasn't very good. The chorizo (which they bragged about) was flavorless ground pork. And I couldn't really tell the difference between the chicken and the pork. I'm pretty sure they are braised in the same way. I really wish this place was better, but I'm sad to say it just isn't very good. read more

I ate here yesterday for the first time ever. We sat in the sun and ate our tamales while waiting for our tacos. I had the camorones and the pescada tacos. The woman at the counter was soooooo nice and sweet. Also, after we got our tacos, she gave us 2 more tamales and thanked us for waiting. Hugely disappointing. I was raised in Southern California and I love authentic Mexican food... I've been hungrily seeking authentic flavor in Seattle much to my dismay. We wanted to love this place, the seating is all very random and funky and in my experience shabbier the appearance, the better the food. This was not the case here. Our tacos took a really long time to get to us, and the pork inside looked like cat food. The meat was really hot and really cold in different spots like they heated it up in the microwave. I am POSITIVE that they did. The flavor was disgusting and they topped it with cole slaw and thousand island or something which is NOT what I want in a taco (unless I'm at some kind of Guy Fieri fusion abomination...in which case I'd order flamin wasabi chicken strips platter anyway.) gross. We went here one cooooold night recently, and I was happy to find that the truck has some covered semi-"indoor" seating, complete with space heaters, a tv, books and games. The food was delicious, inexpensive ($8 per person for enough food to make two ravenous people totally sated), and best of all, the cook/waiter (I am sorry I don't remember his name anymore :-( ) was very friendly, seemed genuinely enthusiastic about his job and about building a reputation in Beacon Hill. He even offered us a free sample dish as a parting gift. The one thing I missed was having pickled carrots as a condiment (they had radishes, limes, and salsa). With that one additional touch, this taco truck would reach perfection, and all the other taco trucks would have to shut down in shame. read more

We had omnivores, ovolactovegetarians, vegans, and gluten intolerant guests. Our menu covered them all and none left disappointed with their dinner. Beyond the food, the staff at El Sabroso were organized, flexible with some last minute changes we requested, and took the initiative to make a site visit to our wedding location 45 min away weeks before the event. OOO EEEMMM GEEE This is exactly what I needed. A taco truck that has something new different and healthy. I never eat at the taco trucks because even though they say vegetarian the beans have lard in them and the rice is made with chicken stock but this place is the real deal. I had the veggie torta that came with refried black beans, no lard, grilled red and green peppers, portobello mushrooms, salsa and finely shredded cabbage. The non vegan option comes with goat cheese, chipotle mayonaise and avocado cream. My sandwich was perfect, huge and only $5 what???? I am officially a loyal customer forever!!! read more

I made a reservation for the class and showed up for it and no one was there! I sent a followup email and got no response. Lame and unprofessional! Terrible service! It's the second time I go there. You can't even tell if they are closed or open. They have their window shut. I was standing there for several minutes trying to catch their attention and nothing. The person that is suppose to be the cashier was playing with her computer the whole time, I was about to walk away when the other guy finally saw me. This guys are greedy. Let me star from their beginning. When they first open about three months back I think, I was one their first customers; I used get always two tacos. They used to cost each taco $2.00 dollars which I used to think it was a little bit pricey but I didn't care much because I like their tacos. Two weeks later they rise their prices from $2.00 to 2.50 because they said they have charge now taxes. Well if someone buys any item of $2.00 dollars elsewhere plus tax it wouldn't be $2.50, if we do the math $2.00 plus tax its like $2.18 not $2.50!! That's a ripoff but whatever. Anyway I kept going because like I said I don't have problems with their food; the beef torta its so good the chorizo as well. Ok now for my surprise I went the other day and will be my last that's for sure, because Im done with this taco truck; I purchased two tortas to go and they charge me extra .25 cents for each item because I wanted it to go. The person charge me each container plus another $.25 cents because I paid with visa card which is fine with me but paying for the containers that they were going to use for my food that's outrighteous! What a shame!! And she told me that so she can waive that fee I have to bring my own containers. Is she out of her mind of what?! And that's not all, when I received my food they squeeze my two tortas in only one to go box no even a plastic bag, even when she charge me two times extra $.25 cents. and I said to myself: WTF!! This place is getting so ridiculous everyday. To me it's like if I go out to a restaurant and after eating my dinner my waiter come to me tell me something like this; "sir, you gonna have to wash your plate, your glass and your silverware as well because if you don't, we are going charge you an extra $9.00 dollars (because I would guess that's how much a dishwasher makes by the hour nowdays) because our dishwasher will do that for you" Isn't this stupid?? I know it will not take an hour to get my plate, my glass and all that to get wash but here Im talking about being greedy and cheap like this one taco truck. I hook them up with some friends because I mention them that those tacos and tortas are good but now I'll do the other way around.
