I'm writing this review in the hopes that the restaurant will see it. We generally have our food delivered via DoorDash. But even if consumed in the restaurant - please! Please!!! Remove the shell/skin from the prawns in your dishes! Especially if there is a lot of sauce or if the dish is particularly hot (in the case of fajitas) is is difficult and extremely messy to remove the prawn shell (tail, etc). I've had this happen a couple times now. I won't be ordering prawns again (even though chicken is getting boring). Otherwise, food is decent Mexican fare. read more

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Seattle! I'm from the south where there's a lot of authentic Mexican restaurants ran by Mexican families, and this place tastes just like home. The service is always excellent (shout to Martín, he always takes care of us!), and the ambiance is cozy and fun. Large portions for a fair price, and the margaritas HITTTT. Best frozen margs and queso! If you're looking for upscale, gentrified Mexican food, this isn't the place for you. We walked right into the bar and snagged a table. The restaurant didn't appear to be busy, but the bar was empty. The bartender was quick to bring us chips, salsa and menus. After giving us a few minutes, he came back and took drink orders. Upon delivery, he asked if we were ready to order. We were. The menu is large in size, bright in colors and offers familiar items. The pricing appears to be reasonable and for the most part, is. When the food is delivered, it is also bright in colors, especially with the contrasting colors of shredded lettuce, yellow cheese, red tomatoes, guacamole and sour cream. If we stopped there, I could easily give 5 stars. But we come to eat, and that counts a lot toward the score. I got a combination that came with a Enchilada (I got cheese), Taco (I got hard shell Chile Verde), Tostada (seasoned ground beef) and Chile Relleno. I also paid $4.50 to make my meal "deluxe". That adds one small scoop each of guacamole and sour cream. The Taco was okay but the pork was on the dry side and lacking any fat. The Enchilada was also okay but nothing special. The Tostada was the best item on my plate with the crispy corn tortilla, well-seasoned ground beef and a ton of lettuce, some cheese and diced tomatoes. This is where most of my guac and sour cream got used. Some old timers might remember Taco Bell's Beefy Tostada from days long ago. This was like an upgraded version of that. The Chile Relleno was terrible. Dry, hard cheese, no egg flavor, this made me think of something I might get out of the freezer and put in the microwave. My meal also came with beans and rice. She got a Chile Verde Burrito with a Chile Relleno, no beans, no rice. Her feeling on the Chile Relleno was the same as mine. She ate 1/4 of her burrito and stopped. Inside appeared to be nothing but dry Chile Verde. On top was guac and sour cream. Our friends each got a Tostada. She got Chile Verde and managed to finish 1/2. He got Chicken and finished his meal. For drinks, one of us got a beer, two of us got Diet Pepsi and one got Ice Water. I was not offered a refill on my drink. The portions are reasonable large, but the value is not there. Flavors are not strong. Service was mostly okay but that alone can't carry the meal. My wife and I would not return. read more

The staff was very nice and the place almost empty for a Seahawks game with a ton of TVs so it was awesome in that regard. Most of the TVs had the brightness set so high black was bright gray on the screens. It was hard to even tell what was going on during the game because the screens were so poorly adjusted. Less good was the terrible food. We had three orders of nachos and each of the three were terrible in different ways. They were very inconsistent except in sogginess. The chips were soaking wet and mushy. There was some meat, but it was so mixed with this rotten tasting white gunk that none of us ate it. My friend that is a chef at the chain of restaurants where work said the green gunk on the nachos was miracle whip with green food coloring mixed in it like we did for St Patrick's one year. It was gross. The beers we had were all flat and tasted like they didn't properly clean the lines, but the margaritas two of our party had were huge. They looked good. The bartender was fun and a huge football fan so that was great, but he didn't seem to speak enough English to understand our orders. I tipped him very well just because he made people happy even if he was terrible at his job. read more

Came here after watching a movie with my Buddy. It's very convenient as it you don't have to leave the parking lot to come here from the nearby theater. Mazatlan is a large restaurant that encourages groups as we were seated near a family of at least 10 celebrating their Birthday. I know this as the staff came out and sang 'Happy Birthday' which was nice as my friend, and I humorously joined in. Feeling pretty good, and planning to split, my friend and I kind of went all out - drinks, apps and entrees. As with most Mexi spots, chips and salsa is free and although they say they charge for additional (which would be silly), they didn't as we ate through the first batch quickly. We got some guac which was ok, not the best guac I've had, but it was a decent amount for sure. For drink I got a grapefruit Paloma and my buddy a Bloody Mary. both Interestingly served in a pint glass which I didn't complain about as that's more for the value. For entree I got from the grill section, A La Parilla - Carne Asada - 'Skirt steak charbroiled the Mazatlan way. Served with guacamole and pico de gallo'. The steak was a tad overdone, but still good and had great flavor. Food was good overall and would for sure come back, especially if I'm hungry coming out of a movie as the theater is so close by. Ordered takeout and got a chicken quesadilla, rice and salsa. The chicken quesadilla was 98% veggie. The salsa smelle/tasted like chemicals and was watery. The rice had no flavor. Not worth the money. Azteca/Taco bell has better food than this. read more

I'm torn about this Mexican restaurant. I want to like it because of the space, but it's just another typical Mexican restaurant in America with the same feel as Mexican chains. They have a happy hour menu, but no prices are listed on the menu. When I asked the waiter for prices of some of the items, he told me they aren't able to make certain ones (mainly the fish items on the happy hour menu). It ended up being most of the items I was interested in. I don't know why they bother having the happy hour menu then given both these issues. I ended up getting the chicken taquitos for simplicity. They offer free chips and salsa, which I always like and expect of Mexican restaurants. At one point, the waiter gave us a bean dip, which was very nice. However, the taquitos and chips & salsa, along with the difficult happy hour menu, aren't enough for me to come back any time soon. read more

Wow, this place is terrible. Bad drinks, bad food, worse service. Most of the food came out cold, including the fajitas which really boggles the mind. Cold fajitas!? It took them 15 minutes to get the tortillas for the cold fajitas. The enchiladas tasted like hose water. Diet Pepsis were never refilled a single time. I came here after being at home for three days. I had some laser resurfacing for a few spots of skin cancer. I looked a wreak. Had to get out of the house and reconnect socially. My first impression at this restaurant was from a young man who stared at me horrified. Ok, almost left. But my server was so gracious to me. My daughter and I stopped into Mazatlan for lunch after hitting Double DD Meats. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. This location has a much larger lounge and outdoor seating area than the Everett location. Unfortunately the lunch menu isn't offered during the weekends. Complimentary chips and salsa are provided. I slurped on a pint of Dos Equis for $5.25 and my daughter slurped on a bottle of Angry Orchard for $4.50. My daughter ordered Three Enchilada (ground beef) Combination plate for $13.99. She substituted the rice for additional beans. She enjoyed her lunch choice. I ordered the Enchilada (chicken) and Burrito (ground beef) Combination plate for $13.49 +$0.25 up-charge for chicken. I too substituted the rice for additional beans. I'm a regular at the Everett location so I was pleased that this location offers the same quality of food and service that I value so much from the Everett location. Mazatlan is a bit pricier than other Mexican restaurants; however, the quality is far better than those cheaper restaurants. read more

Don't go there for the basic enchilada/chimichanga stuff. Go there for their signature dishes. I had their enchilada/chimichanga combo which was alright, honestly had better, but their signature dish called Mazatlan Molcajete won big praises from my husband! The service was pretty quick and we ate outside during the sunset which was nicer than expected since it's by a pretty busy street. They have a large menu to choose from. I found this place via Uber Eats, which is sort of funny because I actually used to work at Cinebarre about 9 years ago and I just never got around to going to Mazatlan. This place is amazing. After losing my most favorite Mexican place in late 2019 (they closed) I had been on the hunt for a new favorite. The staff and kitchen always remember to prepare my food the way I like it, AKA they follow order instructions. The portions are large and decently priced. What I have ordered I have really enjoyed, although I did order the Mexican Pizza and it was too greasy. I always get the Enchiladas Verdes but I sub the pork for chicken and sub beans for more rice. It is so good! I think I'm ordering almost every week now. They have a picture habanero sauce that is delicious as well. Thank you Mazatlan for becoming a COVID-19 staple for me! read more

Been here a few times for dinner. This was our first time in the bar and in time for happy hour. $2.00 off the bar menu, not a bad deal! We ordered the mushrooms, clams, and fish tacos, along with a drink each. I prefer my gin & tonic while husband likes his margarita on the rocks Generally we order full blown meals with rice and refried beans. This was so much better, sharing 3 plates, trying 3 different foods, and not feeling like we've over eaten but with full bellies. Atmosphere in the bar was so much warmer than in the regular restaurant where it is almost always less than half full. Several televisions to watch your favorite teams play! Do they even care about service???? Walked in after a long shift for a well earned drink. They were busy, so I went straight to the bar to order in person as I knew the servers were overwhelmed. (Was one for many years) The bartender looked at me but ignored me while he cleaned glassware, then about 5 minutes later - as I continued to stare at him - he came over and said "are you sitting here?" (not hello, not how are you) and I said no, but I just wanted to order a drink so I can go sit down. He said "well go away,. Go sit where you're going to sit, and a server will come to you." I asked if I could order a drink first? He said, "Well, are you sitting here?? I asked him if I needed to sit here in order to get my order of a drink, and he waved me away and said, "Go sit at a table. A server will come to you." So I did. 7 minutes, no server. So I moved back to the bar and actually sat. Because apparently I have to be sitting there in order to get any service. One of the customers right next to me said " I'm beginning to feel really sorry for you. " as he watched all this. So the bartender came up and said "What.?" And I said I would like to get a drink. And then he turned and started talking to a friend of his at the bar shop and took his drink order instead. When I grabbed a passing server and complained, the bartender came back and was like, "What do you want?" I told him what I wanted, and he brought it to me without any politeness, printed up my bill and slammed it in front of me. Didn't return again. This is service??? Damn. F this place. *** the bartender miraculously appeared when he saw me talking to the manager. He said something to the manager real quick in Spanish and walked away. I guess he didn't realize I speak Spanish.... and it wasn't nice. Management apologized and said it wasn't the first time with this bartender in particular. Another Covid review: completely serviceable Mexican food that arrived hot via the delivery service. The chicken fajitas reheated well but for some reason, they served it in a massive takeaway container (see photo) with only 3 tortillas. I don't know if you get more when dining in but a trifecta of tortillas wasn't enough for all that meat. I was also a little disappointed in the taco salad. The takeaway container crushed the taco shell which also tasted as if it was on the older side. I might try them again but I'm in no hurry to do so. There are better places closer to the house to sate my Mexican food fix. read more

I've figured it out. Find Hilda in the dinning area, order a Margarita, listen to Hilda, ask what she recommends, of her recommendations pick one. Hilda for me has been far superior in every way I can think of in a restaurant. She is very sweet and does her job well, and I truly feel she really cares how you feel about your time spent in this establishment. first time here but i had to write a review because i really, really, liked the dish i had. i will definitely return to try more of the menu based on my first visit. first, the service was very good, attentive and respectful. the food arrived quickly, but not too quickly to make us suspicious about how pre-prepped the food and cooking was. our server was very accommodating to requests of "no rice" and a low carb tortilla. the obligatory chips were fresh and the salsa was tasty. i had the Chori-burrito. the amount of chili seasoning was perfect and did not over-power the chorizo flavor. the scrambled egg was not dry. i loved the burrito sauce. personally, i would have preferred a tad bit more of a jalapeno kick in the chori-burrito, but i will return to Mazatlan if only to eat the chori-burrito. read more

I stopped by this restaurant yesterday with my family for a take out order and I can't event count the number of times I asked the person who took my order (Nataly129 is what's listed on the receipt) to remove all dairy products from all the 4 items in my order. I get back home with my order and found there was a lot of cheese in one of the items. I called the place at 2:01PM, I get someone on the line saying the manager was not there by then but she gets all the details and she started the manager will call me back as soon as he gets in. The manager calls me back at 3:52PM. After providing all details, the manager asks me to please stop by sometime this week to get the same item at no cost for the mistake. Today I stop by and I inform the person in charge (Martin) about what happened and he literally asks to confirm the name of the manager I talked to. I didn't get the manager's name on my phone call and Martin stated he needed to know the name so he knows who to talk to. So my point was shouldn't he know the schedule of each manager and determine who the manager by that time? His attitude was really disappointing, he treated me like I was trying to get some food for free. I paid $83.49 for my order of 4 items and wanted to leave everything as is after calling. The only reason why I came back is because the manager asked me to do so. I have eaten at many Mexican restaurants and have NEVER received this treatment. Being Texan, and knowing my way around a bowl of queso, I was floored at how incredibly delicious the queso here was. Could quite possibly be the best I have ever had. The vegetables are fire roasted, and the queso is made with white cheese and very runny good. They also sprinkle it with a dryer cheese on top and then obviously put it in a oven. It almost looks like crème brûlée when it comes out. On top of that, the chips and salsa are to die for. If you like a nice, thin, slightly greasy chip, this is the place! The cheese enchiladas, rice, and beans are absolutely delicious. Exactly the way I like them. I can't express enough how wonderful our server was, and the other servers. Extremely friendly, sweet and funny. I live in Bellingham and can't wait to make the drive to go back! read more
