This place was a nice bright place to hang out. Personally I prefer a dark more quaint place but it was nice and clean. The drinks are served in small glasses unless specified. The menu is short but the queso was fantastic. I didn't like the salsa but I think that was a personal preference thing. I did love the music played there. The crowd was older and possible the same people that always come in there. They all seemed to know each other. Went there one night when they were having poker and it was a little difficult to get around but that's understandable with the amount of tables they had. I did really like the service the bartender provided but unfortunately I do not remember his name (he was the nighttime bartender and looked young, mid twenties). They did not have my go to beers on tap, but no bar in the area does. I will say, if I want to grab a drink in the Wylie/Sachse area I will go here (service + reasonable prices). read more

We have stopped by a couple of times. Decent bar food, but nothing to change the world. One visit the place was packed. The other time it was kind of quiet. Both times the service was super slow. You better order your second round as soon as the first drink arrives. We decided to keep looking for a local watering hole. This one kept us pretty dry. read more

I really enjoy Sachse Ice House, especially on Monday night when the burgers are half price. The beers are reasonably priced, and the burgers are excellent, in my opinion. It's kind of small, so if there is a sports event on it can get kind of loud and crowded; but good for them, that's the way a sports bar should be. read more

We tried Sachse Ice House after buying the Groupon and were not impressed with anything except the huge variety of beers on tap. I know it is called an Ice House and you go their for the beer, but we were so disappointed in every aspect of this place. Our waitress was professional, kind and awesome. A younger waitress was strutting around like she was working at a topless bar, even flirting with an obviously taken man right in front of his girlfriend/wife. Oh, she was also puffing on an electronic cigarette while working. The view from my seat went straight into the men's bathroom with a full vision of the urinal. Any seat at every table had the same view. Nasty. Our salsa had a 4" long hair in it. And, $6.99 for a small basket of chips, hairy salsa and a cup of queso is too much. We had two $7 each tap beers, a cider, a small burger and 12 wings...after the $20 Groupon our bill was still $19. We were hoping for a cool place to stop after work, but I don't think Sachse Ice House will be it. It already needs a make-over inside and would sun shades be asking too much? The food is FABULOUS and PLENTIFUL!!! They have terrific special deals most days. They have big screens, a touch screen jukebox, dart board with darts, and table toys (Rubik's cubes, snakes that can be twisted into different shapes, other hand type puzzles, etc). Our server, Christy, was awesome and very friendly. Our food came out too hot to eat right away and our drinks were refilled before we knew we needed them. We started with the queso- spicy but flavorful melted cheese (NOT Velveeta) with seasoned ground beef and freshly made tortilla chips. I had the chicken platter- 2 marinaded chicken breasts perfectly grilled with sautéed portobello mushrooms (I think they were portobello) and provolone, steamed mixed veggies with a tasty (read: not salty w/lots of flavor) seasoning sprinkled on them, and a HUGE side salad of fresh crisp lettuce, tomato, onions and shredded cheese. I'm picky about salad dressings and their ranch was fresh and not from a bottle. My guests had the Big Boy Burger- a 2/3 lb burger with all the fixins. The meat was fresh and cooked perfectly (not burned on the outside and undercooked on the inside) and the patty was thick! The onion rings and fries were very good too. If you like the hole in wall type place then this is a great hole to dive into. Great food and a small menu which they have always tailored my meals to whatever silly request I have made....don't be afraid to ask for something not on the menu. I always get great service, staff are all friendly, and they don't put up with idiots which is perfect. So if they ask you to leave...you might be one. It can get crowded during happy hour but otherwise plenty of seats and a nice relaxed environment. The smoking area is outside as you walk in which is fine. Get a mixed crowd of different individuals from all walks in life. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is they don't have Guinness on tap. :) read more

Read the reviews and was a bit disturbed about the smoking. We went to the Ice House because it was close to the relatives we were visiting. Wow, we were so surprised and pleased that it is now a non-smoking bar. We found a very pleasant atmosphere and the location had no smell. The bartender Hannah was more than pleasant and made us feel quite welcome. The drinks were a reasonable price and were made correctly. We ordered a hamburger and fried pickles for food. The hamburger was fine and the fried pickles were very tasty with touch of spice. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Ice House in Sachse to anyone. read more

Purchased a Groupon for Sachse Ice House and was pleasantly surprised. Our fried catfish, burger, and wings were very tasty, even the tartar sauce was great and tasted like they make it from scratch. The quality of food and service here is far better than your typically bar. I will be visiting again very soon. read more

I am local to Sachse and feel the need to try and support local businesses. I have been in "Sachse Ice House" several times now and have yet to be disappointed. The food is bar food; but it is really good bar food!! They have a nice selection of On Tap beers too! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice local Pub. read more

I only checked this out because Uncle Bruce's seems to ban all their customers sooner or later and they seemed to have instigated issues with this new bar opening in their area. I found Ice House to appear to be slapped together in design with the bar looking like they salvaged glass display cases from a jewelry department of a retail store and threw some broken glass and colored lights in it to get that "club" look. The wall to kitchen area are more like dividers, not sure if that's part of the design ambience or just unfinished work. I didn't eat but heard great things about the food. $7.58 with tax for two domestic taps seems high for a small bar scene. And the men's room literally has NO room- meaning no stall! So if you're a guy and have to crap your SOL. No signs saying they had another facility if needed and not sure how that passes an inspection. When we went the bartenders seemed early 20's while the crowd appeared late 30's. I wouldn't say I would never go back, but I was hoping for a more "complete" scene. They need to decide if they want to be a club, a restaurant, a sports bar, a neighborhood bar.... its a mix of unfinished everything. read more
