Dan once again travels in search of unusual plants ideal for temperate gardens. This is worth visiting just for its park value, and definitely worth a special trip even from far off, though always make sure of the hours before setting out; they keep limited public hours (generally Fridays 10 am to 3 pm, but sometimes other days and longer hours depending on events and special sales and such). The plant collection is unique; the park areas and buildings can be rented for weddings and private events; and the nursery arranges all sorts of seasonal public events worth attending. He was friendly, super helpful and willing to answer all of the bamboo novice questions we had about it. Clearly the man is passionate about bamboo and it shows. We ended up getting 7 large Dulcis plants to use as a screen in our backyard and couldn't be happier. George also offers services to deliver the bamboo and install it with the barriers needed for the roaming variety. We'll definitely be returning to get more bamboo in the future!

Super friendly and engaging customer support. The folks at work here really do seem to care. That they have those things has helped me grab some last-minute birthday and other holiday items for friends when I would have completely forgotten the special day. As a general contractor and also in…read morethe process of remodeling our home here, Henery's has been an invaluable asset, literally 2 blocks away. At the onset of the pandemic, Henery's took charge and implemented numerous measures and protocols to keep patrons and staff as safe as possible. As of this date, May 18, 2020, however, things have deteriorated greatly. 1 of 5 employees I encountered wore a mask. 1 of 5 wore gloves. 2 passed within six inches of me in order to stock shelves on the same aisle I was on, neither wearing masks. Following the example, 2 of ten customers wore masks and also made numerous attempts to get less than 6 feet from me. There are no requirements for employees nor customers to wear a simple mask. Here's the thing. The measures we've used state wide and been enormously successful in reducing the spread of Covid 19. So much so, my wife and I thought it relatively safe to continue to shop in places like Henery's. Fact is, we have a 19 year old quadriplegic at home with 23% lung capacity. If he gets this disease, he dies. Full stop. As a result, we rely on the mutual concern and professionalism of establishments like Henery's to help maintain that level of safety. Henery's isn't doing that anymore, despite the lack of a vaccine and dire warnings from the CDC and epidemiologists globally. We cannot take the risk of killing our kid. So it is that today was my last trip into your store. Life will run a bit slower for us, as we order everything online and have it delivered, but seeing our son reach the age of 20 will make that well worthwhile.
