Let me set the tone. Monday ... Cinco de Mayo. 9:30ish. We are in need of a Mexican flag for an annual Cinco de Mayo celebration and cancer fundraiser. When I was driving up I noticed the blinking "OPEN" sign (which was crooked), but that is just being picky, but could also be something to think about when shopping at a store that doesn't pay attention to the details. You can see the crooked sign in the picture. Plenty of street parking so easily accessible. Parked and walking to the front door, but still not sure if the sign is correctly stating "OPEN" because it is so dark inside. I actually double-take before even tugging on the entry door because I can't see anything inside the store that would suggest "OPEN". Since I'm there, I must try and yes. The door opens. I walk in and there's a man behind the counter with his back facing me. He doesn't turn. I ask, "Are you open?" and he says "Yes" without even turning. Maybe he saw me parking and walking to the store because there was a window where he was sitting looking out to the street. I should have immediately waved the white flag and just turned and left, but I was on a mission to help my father. Here's the conversation and series of events: Me, "I'm looking for a Mexican flag for a Cinco de Mayo celebration" Him (and still not turned around), "What size?" Me, "Probably 3x5" Him (turned around now), "that's a 3x5 over there (pointing)" Me, "Ahhh, probably too big." I start looking around at examples and say, "probably between this and this" referring to the size I need. He walks to the back and returns with a box. "I have a nylon one" Me, "How much?" Him, "$49" Me, "How does this hang? I have a pole already so will that work?" Him, "It has graumets (pointing to the example in the store) Me, "Okay, I'll need to call to see if this will work" Him, "Okay, but I already went to the back of the store and I'm not going back there." So at this point, I should've just left. You may be asking "why didn't this guy just leave." Well, when your father asks you for help to find a Mexican flag, you just find a Mexican flag. Me (on phone) to father. I found a flag, but just need to know how you would hang this up. It has graumets in the upper and lower corners. It's about 2x3 size. My father confirms this would work, but found something that will work locally. He did ask how much to which I responded $49. The person in the store could hear my conversation and said, "$42" and I told my father this new information. He still said that's okay and I ended phone conversation. Me, "That's okay." Him (again with his back turned at the same location he was when I entered) - no response. Me, "I'll just leave this (referring to the box) on your counter" Him - no response. Me, "Well, thanks" Him (still with back turned), "thank you" I left the store. VERDICT & RECAP 1. Store was extremely dark. No store lights on and only partial natural lighting coming through the windows 2. Store representative didn't even bother turning around when I entered 3. Store representative actually told me he didn't want to have to go to the back again 4. Store representative turned his back on me again and didn't respond to questions WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS STORE - No SIDENOTE: - I also posted this same review under Sacramento Flag Works (two words). If I could rate the store zero I would. Showed up on a Saturday a few weeks ago and got some info on flagpoles. The male working there answered our questions. Showed up today (Friday) and spoke with the same male salesperson. Getting details was like pulling teeth. We were looking to buy a $700+ pole and asked about finishes. Male advised to "google" it to see options. Two customers came in after us. He went to help the 2nd customer, then the 3rd customer. 2nd customer asked for additional help and male advised him he needed to help us since we were first. We advised him we wanted to order and pay for the flagpole. We told him we would pick it up and install it ourselves (he previously told us install was about $1,500 and delivery $200+.) He said he needed to check on the availability of the pole and thought he had one in the back. We asked to pay for the pole and arrange for pick up. He said to call later and he would set the price then. We asked to see the finish on the pole and he said he would have to help the 2nd customer first. After a total of 25 minutes we walked out. We will buy our flag supplies elsewhere! read more

Expensive and very cheap flag and flag pole. Don't go here. I only went here bc long Amazon wait time for Ukrainian flag. The Ukrainian flag I bought here was a 3x5 majorly cheapo affair with permanent fold creases (I tried ironing it flat but impossible to remove creases) for $25. The fabric tore from the eyelet a few days after purchase on a mildly windy day. They may have raised the price of cheap flag bc in demand? I do t know. The metal flag pole was the cheapest they had and it cost $25 as well. It sucks. I had to improvise to actually get it to work. I will never set foot in this store again. read more

Shocked at the negative review on here, but viewers note: these were from when the store was owned by someone else. I emailed Alison to ask if she had the flag I was looking for and she responded right away. We exchanged emails and she was so prompt and nice! I went to the store and it was a tiny cute little place. Alison was wonderful and helped me. It was such a pleasant experience and makes me happy to support a local business. And as icing on the cake, her adorable labrador is often in the store! read more

Allison and Ryan installed a 20 foot flag pole for us in cement and did an amazing job! With our new pole our flag is no longer snagging on our gutter and roof. We are proud to fly it beautifully now. They were friendly, professional and cleaned up after their installation. I highly recommend them for flags or flag poles. This presentation included the national flag, state flags, confederate flags, and city flags. Allison gave me a number of small American flags. I gave them to the people who came to my presentation. The flags were really appreciated by the people who attended my presentation. Some of the low ratings are due to how the store was run in the past. I'm really frustrated with this store and I have yet to even step foot in it! I have been calling this store since last week to find out the business hours and never has anyone answered. Today I decided to show up in hopes that they are open as the website sends me to a home and garden page and Google states they are open 24hours a day. Wrong! I show up and find a sign on the window that says for assistance please call this number and apparently right now they are out to lunch until three according to the sign on the door or at least I hope as I have to be back at work soon myself. Luckily the owner was back right at three. He was nice enough and helped me get what I needed. I suggest he clean the place up a bit and fix the hours and website. read more

I've been meaning to stop in here for years and never did. Lately I had the need for a California flag and checked the reviews--not good! But I was nearby and stopped in. They were wonderful! I got a California and a U.S. flag--unfortunately they were short on rainbow flags in the size I needed due to the recent Pride festival. The woman who helped me said she had taken the business over from her grandfather. She was very friendly and helpful and the shop was clean and bright. Prices had been dropped as well! This is the kind of store you drive by a million times, maybe you think to yourself "Why would they need a whole store for that?"... until you need a random flag item and suddenly it's "Crap! When I need a venue for Sheldon Cooper for film 'Sheldon Cooper presents Fun with Flags'- Flag Store! This shop may be small but it is brimming with everything bearing a flag: decals, bumper stickers, magnets, keychains, pins, pens, banners, streamers, decor, toothpicks, napkins, and oh yeah, flags. I had a great experience here for several reasons. I walked up to the door to find it locked and closed down but the owner came up and let me in even though he was about to leave for the day. I told him what I was looking for and he retrieved it and everything looked in order. I paid (a little higher than I thought it would be but that's ok) and afterward, he gave me two flag pins! Well I wanted to buy a flag here, but I now refuse to my reason being is I called to check if they had a certain military flag. Well some man answered and when I asked if they had it, he asked me a question, but I didn't hear the full question, I told him "I'm sorry what" And he decided to yell at me. i called to ask if they had rope for my flag pole on Thursday they said yes but not tell the next day because they where using it to do some repair work in the bay area . i said i didnt plan on going down there tell the Friday got there and only had to wait 10 mins for the owner to get there. she was very nice and helpful . she hooked me up with some VERY good rope ,way better then the junk i got online less then a year ago. she was very nice to work with . well be go back any time i need flag pole parts or a new flag . very good prices on flags and rope .thank you for the help read more

There's a reason Sacramento Flag Works is contracted to work with the CA State for projects - THEY ARE THE BEST! The owner, Allison, is an expert on all things flag poles, flag materials, sizing, etc. I had no idea what I was doing when I installed a flag pole in my front yard. She could have just tried to upsell me but she was candid, honest, and so helpful in getting my installation done. She also offered a FREE consultation to make sure the job could be done. This place is an absolute joke! I work for a large company that maintains a lot of facilities with poles. We have several that needed service and I have spent MONTHS trying to get an estimate from these jokers. The response is: "I sent it yesterday", "Sorry, we're having computer issues", or "I'll send it right now". It's not true! He has never made an attempt to send anything. Aside from the complete lack of customer service, the store itself smells AWFUL!!! I can't tell if it's dirty, or they let the dog pee on the floor, but regardless, it is almost unbearable. The smell will stay in your nose for a day or two. There are many other issues with this "business" but I don't have all day to waste on this place. Advice: DO NOT waste your time! Shop online or find another local store. If you need pole service...... good luck... I'll update if they EVER get back to me. read more

I drove all the way down to the store from Lakeport. Roughly a 2 Hour Dr. each way. Arrived at 11:32 locked door with a handwritten sign that said closed early sorry. I even called on my way down to make sure that they were open. Got a busy signal which I thought was a reasonable indication that someone was there and on the phone working. Went by to by flags for an event we are putting on in the area and the hours of operation show as 10-3:30 was on the doorstep at 12:47pm and doors were locked tired calling and was told they were all out to lunch until 1:30pm. So against my better judgment I decided to go back after to pick up flags from them arrived at 2:30pm only to find them still closed so once again called them and was told he went to the DMV an you know how long that takes the lack of abilities of these people to run a business amazes me that it even exists. read more
