Abysmal Experience and Lack of Compassion at Wilson Trophy Company My experience with Wilson Trophy Company was deeply disappointing, bordering on disrespectful, especially considering the sensitive nature of my request. I initially reached out to the top executive with a unique and time-sensitive need: to have a custom plaque made for my father's blank headstone, matching (or closely approximating) one already installed for my brother who passed away in 1988. I was looking for a company with the expertise and compassion to handle such a personal task. Instead, my request was seemingly treated as a burden and passed down to a front-desk employee or operator who demonstrated a shocking lack of customer service skills, empathy, and professionalism. A Comedy of Errors and Excuses: 1. Poor Hand-Off and Lack of Oversight: The first executive's decision to hand off such a sensitive, non-standard request to an apparently untrained individual was the first major mistake. The executive never followed up to ensure a proper outcome, showing a complete disregard for my business and my family's needs. 2. Unnecessary and Questionable Tariff Fee: Despite informing the representative that I needed the plaque ASAP for my father's blank headstone, I was charged a bogus $25 tariff fee for an item coming from a U.S.-based vendor, at a time when nationwide tariffs were on hold. Her excuse for this fee was utterly unconvincing. While I begrudgingly paid it to move the process forward, it reflects a dishonest and opportunistic approach to billing. 3. The Unforgivable Delay and Deception: The most egregious part of this transaction was the failure to notify me when the plaque arrived. I stressed multiple times that I needed to know the minute the plaque was delivered so I could immediately install it on my father's blank headstone. When I followed up after the promised 15 business days, I was suddenly told it was ready. When I drove straight to the store, I saw a handwritten tracking number on an invoice and was told by the employee that the plaque had been there for "about a week or so." Upon checking the tracking number, I discovered the plaque had arrived at Wilson Trophy on August 19th--a full two weeks before I was finally able to pick it up on September 3rd. Her excuse for this monumental delay? "Well, no one told me." This is unacceptable. Two weeks--14 days--passed while the plaque sat on a desk, and my father's headstone remained blank. As a former business owner who understands that reputation hinges on excellent service, I am appalled that Wilson Trophy Company would entrust a sensitive, urgent customer request to an employee who is clearly not trained in basic communication or accountability, and whose lack of follow-through was then excused by a management structure that failed to follow up. I would absolutely not recommend Wilson Trophy Company for any custom work, especially if it requires a modicum of care, timely communication, or professional handling. Did business with Wilson for years. Never posted anything negative even when customer service with a rep hasn't been the best or small errors needed attention. They are now adding a Tariff fee to entire orders even for things purchased off their clearance table. I also know some of the prep work is done in house so why would we pay for this? We ordered pins from overseas during the same timeframe with zero additional fee. Seems fair to pay for items that had to be ordered overseas that are in fact tariffed, but when this isn't shown to the customer for transparency, it's not the sort of business I choose to trade with. Support your local trophy shop!!!! For years I personally have always receive trophies from Wilson trophies and as a player these are some of the coveted prizes I have from my days playing sports.. As an adult I have been participating in my kids softball for a while and every year they have lame trophies... well NOT this year!!!! I signed up to be trophy coordinator without knowing all what it took to order 196 trophies... as the end of the season came I was worried I wouldn't be able perform and trying to order off the internet was cheap but super frustrating since I couldn't talk with someone about what I wanted to actually do... So I look at one of my coolest oldest trophies and I see it's a Wilson trophy.. I drive to the warehouse and walk in totally overwhelmed and that is when I meet Elizabeth. She took time to help me with my questions and walk me around the show room.. I was able to present the proposal to the board and they gave me a budget.. When I called Elizabeth back she quickly got to work and called me back the same day.. not only did she come into my budget she totally went above and beyond to help me out on making some off the coolest trophies these girls will ever get.. Customer service is good but the need to pay better attention to details. They miss spelled the league name then they fixed that but then the year was wrong. Then the medallion was on crooked. And then the hat on it was broken then the name plate was not straight. Took 5 times but eventually they got them right. But very dissatisfied and disappointed that a manager or someone did not come out to apologize or anything. The nice lady at the desk even said that she went and got the manager involved. And he did go in back but then came back out and said nothing. Will not be going back. read more

Years ago I won my last roller skating competition (1975). I received a beautiful trophy and it has been packed away for years. When it was brought out of storage it was broken badly. I went into this shop on New Years Eve when every other place was closed. A gentleman was locking up and re-opened just for me. He kept the trophy for a few days to see if it could be repaired. To my surprise it was repair flawlessly! When I went back to get it, they did not charge anything for the replacement parts and repairs. I was so surprised by there being a business that would do such beautiful work and not charge anything. The best start to my 2019! read more

I can honestly say that I, myself, was proud to give such an attractive looking plaque of gratitude away. I can also see how this would be a fun place to get comical gifts... like a happy birthday bowling trophy for a friend who has never been bowling, or a medal for the friend who always arrives late (I deserve that one). The solution? Wilson Trophy. I had seen them driving to and from appointments, and I finally stopped by a few weeks back. They were incredibly helpful and responsive to my questions and concerns, and we eventually pieced together a heck of a trophy. I ended up with something MUCH less expensive than similar things I'd seen online, plus I ended up with a metal trophy instead of a resin one. I placed an order and according to the website it was good to go but then several hours later I get a call telling me it would be delayed several days because they don't have the manpower to pull my order and the only way for me to get my order in time is to pay an additional $150 in shipping. I'm not sure how you have the manpower to pull my order if I spent $150 to ship it but you don't have that same manpower to pull it because my shipping is only $40. I needed to purchase a few awards so this seemed like a good place to go. I was being helped by Christie?skinny long hair and glasses and apparently she prides herself with discouraging you with the pricing. I guess it's the way she said it, without drawing a breath "a small plaque acrylic, $79 and inscription $50, logo another $50. Oh and you don't have the logo in a ispecial format that's another $50. ". Basically rude as hell. Way to busy and needed to walk off and sit at her desk and finish the conversation from her, ( I run the company big desk.) FYI if you had any standing in that company as you act, your ass would've been in one of the offices with a door. I will never go back there Again. I ordered our Little League trophies well in advance with plenty of time for the order to take place... when ordering it did inform us that it could take up to 10 days... more than 10 days had coming past and I had not heard anything from them or received an email stating that the order was ready for pick up....they do not notify you or call you to inform you that the order has been complete I had to call and then I showed up to pick up our order and it was done incorrectly. I ordered silver plates not gold plates she looked at me like oh yeah he clearly says silver plates with black writing they messages put gold because the silver is too shiny said well I didn't order gold I ordered sober she says are you sure you want sober well yes I ordered our trophies with silverbacks over a month ago. I wouldn't purchase from them again. I placed one order for 2 sets of medals. the first group were gold medals with a red and blue ribbon, and the other was for silver medals with a teal ribbon. when they arrived in the mail, the medals were on the wrong ribbons, with the gold attached to teal and silver attached to red/blue. in addition the red/blue ribbon is emblazoned with women's softball logos (the medals were for work with computers). I was able to make a half-assed passable version by swapping the medals to the proper colored ribbons but the clips sewn into the ribbon are still the off color(gold clip holding silver medal, etc), and turning the red/blue ribbon inside out but it's still obvious to the person being issued the award that they are receiving a subpar item. I wrote a review on their website, it was never published by wilson to avoid bad publicity, that's not how reviews work. I'll purchase medals through other vendors next time. read more

I went to two other so called trophy shops but all they really sold was team apparel with a small section of average trophies. When I got to Wilson, they were recommended by friend who also had a great experience, I was very impressed with show room. Hundreds of trophies to look at and hold of all types not just on line photos. I was really able to get a feel of what it was I would be handing out. I came in looking for something very specific but didn't know what it was. Christy helped me find the perfect trophy with a combination of on line photos of many different tops and an actual trophy in the show room. Pricing from low to high with several different materials. I was referred to Wilson's from a friend because I had a bad experience with another company. Best decision I ever made let me explain. My 1st visit with Wilson was awesome...I can't remember the lady who helped me but she answered all my questions and was able to make sure my purchase would stay in my budget. I came back a few days later to finalize my purchase and thankfully the owner was able to help me because the store had already closed. I explained to him how grateful and amazing his company is. I also explained that the previous company I went through spelled some of my players name wrong, the print was smeared. The previous company wanted to charge me for shipping and to re-print the name correctly. The owner from Wilson's right away said bring the trophy in and I'll fix it free of charge...All I could think was Thank you Thank you!!! I Came back a week later spoke with Aaliyah who gave me the team trophy's, which look amazing!!! Aaliyah took the trophy back and had it done in 5 minutes.
