Great little ballpark, front row seats $12, $5 beers (and they have some decent local craft beer on tap).

The game had just started when we arrived. It was a playoff game, so it was packed. We got tickets at the gate for $15 each for left field, the only option available. There isn't a great way to get around the stadium. We walked in front of everyone in the stands and happened to run into Rawhide, their mascot! After a quick selfie, we found ourselves in the grass/dirt to get to our seats. I regretted my flat sandals. We sat in the bleachers out in left field. We could see and hear everything. The game was low scoring but entertaining. The announcer had events between innings for the kids etc and plenty of fun songs and sound effects. Players were hitting foul balls into the stands and parking lot. No one got hurt but I bet some cars were dented. They had chosen the designated beer hitter - a player on the opposite team. When he was up to bat, if he struck out, beers were half off for the rest of the inning! It happened at least twice. Food looked pretty good. They had a local restaurant set up under an easy up, cooking. It was called Jacob's and they have a restaurant one mile south of the stadium (Jacob's Restaurant). We left after the kids raced the players through the field which was about the 7/8th inning. I think the stompers lost as they were trailing for awhile. Bathrooms were in an elevated trailer, clean, air conditioned, separate men/women. I can see why the locals enjoy the games. It was fun. I just wish they had a better sidewalk around the field. And Rawhide's costume needs a good cleaning. Poor guy smells like several summers. Overall great value and a good time.

No outside food or drinks are allowed so you're kinda stuck. I don't even know how to rate this place so let's keep the 4 stars going simply because I love baseball. It was a unique experience, a bit hokey for me, and not something we'll likely repeat.

A River Cats game is always a fun time, win or lose because of the food, promos and vibes…read more I've been to games since they first became a team and love Sutter Health Ballpark's classic look and pretty views over the outfield. They've had a lot of great promos this season, and I love that they have new, creative food options every season like the burger combo that's served in a Tower Bridge box (I still need to try this!). It's fun to see up-and-coming ballplayers grow their talent and occasionally a Giant will rehab with the team (the River Cats are the Triple-A team of the San Francisco Giants), which is always fun to see. Parking is only $15 and it's easy to get a spot in the lot close to the ballpark if you arrive early. Pro tip: look up their bag policy before you go to make your trip as smooth as possible! I think small purses and clear bags are okay off the top of my head. I always bring my tiny black purse with no issues. There are different promo days depending on the day of the week that offer discounts on ice cream, hot dogs, and drinks. My friend and I caught happy hour last month and appreciated the $3 discount on our beers and waters before first pitch. I'm looking forward to my next game. Thanks!

Another great night at the Sacramento River Cats Legacy club for tonight's game…read more Not much of a crowd in the stands tonight for a great night of baseball, but there was quite a bit in the legacy club enjoying tonight's menu. Besides the salad bar, the menu included barbecue chicken, smoked tri-tip, scallop potatoes, baked beans, broccolini, and rolls. Those shorthanded, Garry and Kevin did an outstanding job with the buffet. I love that they always keep it refilled and the counters and tables clean. It doesn't matter how busy it gets. They are always on their jobs and are so appreciated. The Rivercats had a special treat for us in the legacy. We were able to go down for Merlino's, and it was so good. Tonight we also picked up our Member gifts, which was a pennant, a pin, and a baseball. Another great thing is that the Rivercats won the game!

Well, there's a first time for everything! And as it turned out , this was a pretty fun experience…read morefor us. We got some pretty sweet tickets for the event at Sleep train Arena on Feb 5th. When we arrived at Sleep Train, I had to deftly maneuver around the huge Ford F350 and Ram 3500 trucks in the parking lot. I found a space up in front and parked my hybrid right between two F150 trucks that were lifted. Got into the arena, and was surprised to see that the arena was completely packed with cowboys, and I mean real cowboys. Not the fake variety you see waking around midtown, but the real deal. We got settled, and the start time was delayed, as the security area was backed up. So they pushed back the start about 15 min. Then the light went down, and then announcer started the countdown to the main event. The brought out all of the participants and then we got ready for the action. One by one, they released the riders on the bulls. Some got thrown off immediately, some made it the whole 8 seconds, and a few got injured by the bull and had to be helped off. For the one's that made it the full 8 seconds, they got scored and the highest score was declared the winner of the event. I have absolutely no idea how they scored them. Maybe it was style points. We were in the suite, so not really close to the action, but the food and drink made up for that inconvenience. I'm sure seats right behind the fence would have been great. There also was an auction to the highest bidder who could go in the arena area in a small pen in the center and watch the action. All in all, a new , fun experience, and we had a great time.
