Sacred Grounds is our go to for coffee! It's close enough to not be too far and they always have all the goods. I personally love the staff and how kind and knowledgeable they are. Now that they're only operating through a little window it's even better. You get out of your car, ring the little doorbell, someone awesome comes out to take your order from the menu on their window. You ask questions, they answer them all and recommend to you a custom roast right for you taste! In these times it's so important to support local business but also people that are passion about their work and what they do. Coffee is an art and I'm thankful that they're open and let us bring home all the goodness! Coffee is community and sacred grounds is AMAZING.

Sacred Grounds is a wonderful, wonderful coffee roaster with coffee and light snacks for takeout, "hidden" (but not really) right in the middle of our one-stoplight town. Yelper Don F. finally gave me the extra nudge I needed to stop in... and now I'm seriously mad at myself for not trying Sacred Grounds sooner. All coffee sold here is organic and fair trade, roasted with a light hand to minimize bitterness and maximize the nutty / fruity notes. To channel my favorite Top Chef contestant of all time, Carla Hall, this coffee tastes like it's roasted with love! I can't say enough nice things about the owner, John Rich, who works the COVID-safe takeout window and has evidently donated coffee for Sherman School SPTO meetings for years. He's kind, friendly, low-key and welcoming. (Nice profile here: https://candlewoodlakemagazine.com/2016/02/22/sacred-grounds-coffee-roasters-brewing-up-a-successful-business-that-rocks/) Sacred Grounds is conveniently located right across the street from school, next to the Painted Lemon (though in this town, what isn't? ;). It feels like a wonderful mini vacation to drop the kids off, get my beautifully made cup of drip coffee served in an environmentally friendly-ish paper cup (post pandemic, I wonder if I could bring my own mug?), and drive somewhere for a nice morning hike, coffee in hand, before commuting back to my "office" (guest bedroom). Two human kids and one pup in, I'm no longer a coffee snob. (At 5 a.m. after two hours of sleep, sometimes instant coffee is just how ya gotta roll.) But even I can appreciate the quality of the roasting here, and recognize that I have to give it the time it deserves to properly enjoy it.

If you want some solid coffee, this is the place to go. The man roasts the coffee himself! Reasonably priced with good customer service.

Coffee by the half or full pound. Whole bean or freshly ground.

Best roasted beans in the area! When we have friends and family visiting, we always have them stop in. You can also get a cup to go.

Reverie Coffee - Lavender latte, street corn toast + gf waffle

So happy to have Reverie back but (in my opinion) even better than before!…read more This time, they're located inside the Promenade with the coolest little vibes surrounded by other great businesses: acupuncture, permanent jewelry, pop ups and more. The only "downside" here is that they don't have a full kitchen like they used to but this doesn't stop this awesome **woman owned** biz to bring her best to the table. From street corn toast to liege waffles, yes, they have nutella too :') - this place has all the basic things you need for an amazing coffee break. While covering your vegan and gluten free needs with plenty of options. I will say, the gf waffles are the frozen toaster ones (which is totally fine because no kitchen so there's options for everyone!). Can't wait to try the liege waffles next! I have my eye on the mushroom and onion avocado toast but I can assure you the street corn chickpea stands pretty great on it's own. Expect tea and coffee bags and lots of goodies available for purchase with an awesome seating area just perfect for hanging out or doing some work while you sip and snack. OK. I never get lattes and the lavender latte possessed me and made me order it. On a hot day I never even said how I wanted it. Somehow someway, the awesome barista and owner KNEW to make it cold, and I'm SO glad I had this lavender iced latte EXPLODING with lavender. Not overly sweet, just right and fully natural. Basically it didn't taste like a fake lavender simple syrup combo. Oh, best part, milk options are endless. Oat and COCONUT are in the house. Of course, I got the coconut! You can order other great beverages like the pea lemonade (the pretty purple one!!) and other plant derived natural elixirs. Can't wait to try!

This is an updated review based upon my first visit to Krafted's new location in the same building…read more I suggested their old location wouldn't win any beauty contests. Well now, they're Miss Freakin' America. The space is gorgeous. And they aced the talent competition too. I almost exclusively drink iced coffee, and I don't always love Iced Americanos. But here, they were up front about the fact that it would be an Iced Americano, when some places are sneaky about it. I appreciate that. I also liked that they offered three single origins as options. I went with the Papua New Guinea. It was great. Krafted is serious about coffee. Now they have a serious location too. 5 Stars

This coffee roaster is tucked away on the side of a building and offers the best beans you will get anywhere. They roast their own in house and so far my husband and I have tried the Bantam, Mexico and Nicaragua blends and all are fantastic and so unique. Our go to order is the maple latte which I will rave about until the end of time to everyone. They also have a small but delicious selection of baked goods to choose from but our personal favorite are the chocolate chip cookies! The workers and owner are also so kind and have great recommendations! Krafted Brew Lab is a must visit!

It was literally the only place I could find on short notice with reservation slots available, which maybe should have been a sign (and certainly a reminder to me to be much more proactive about this sort of thing in the future). This was sort of a meet in the middle for us; she's in Redding, CT, and I'm in North Jersey. Common Grounds is located at the end of a strip mall, though arguably a higher-end one. The parking lot was VERY busy and while spots were relatively easy to find, I had to settle for one further away close to the bowling alley next door. All good though in that regard. The first hint that this was going to go downhill happened almost immediately. Despite having made the reservation for 11, our designated table wasn't available for seating because the prior party was "lingering." There wasn't a time limit on the dining parties so it seemed like Common Grounds just made assumptions on when people would leave, which is probably not an exact science on the best of days, and certainly not on a day where you might have a family reunion element. We were offered a large high-top table to sit at instead, which my mother isn't comfortable with, and after a few minutes of sitting there, were instructed to take a "normal" table by the window. I will give props for the hostess reading the room in that regard and doing what she could to give us an optimal seating situation - the wait and miscalculation wasn't her fault. She was also very nice to my mother, which for sure counts for something. It took probably 15 minutes for our waitress to come by and ask for drink/food orders, which isn't great. I'd decided on the Blueberry Lemon Ricotta Pancakes from the Specials menu, only to be told by the waitress that they were no longer available. I then had to quickly pivot to the French Toast from the regular menu, but lack of availability is something that should have been mentioned when we received the menus, not while we're ordering. And it wasn't even noon - a little concerning. I don't know if it was just a bad day behind the scenes, but it took over 45 minutes to get two pretty simple brunch entrees to us, and almost as much time to get our beverages. That would at least be understandable if the place was packed and everyone was busy, but that wasn't the case - a lot of tables emptied up within 20 minutes of our arrival, and in a pretty troubling optic, most of the front-end waitstaff was literally just standing around by the coffee station not doing anything. That's bad management, and could have helped alleviate whatever was happening in the kitchen. You have five minutes to kill? Okay, stop by your tables and apologize for the delay. Help bus and turn over the recently vacated tables. Maybe refill my water glass, which was empty for most of my meal. There's just no excuse for that. And it's a shame because my Cardamon Rose Latte was excellent, and the French Toast was very good as well. French Toast isn't one of my go-to's, but when I have it I prefer it to be softer and not as cumbersome, and this fit the bill. But because the wait time and overall service was mediocre at best, I didn't even want to go near a dessert menu or consider having a second latte - that probably would have tacked on another hour. So by virtue of not being attentive and efficient, Common Grounds left money on the table. A real shame; and frankly, surprising to me given that this has to be a very notable day on the calendar for brunch places. I'd ensure everything was well-oiled and ready to go, and it's clear it just wasn't. I overheard quite a few people outside singing the praises of this place, and I saw enough to probably understand why. But we weren't the beneficiary of most of those qualities.
