Rumors Café in Danbury is such a vibe! I went on September 14th and loved the cozy, cute ambience--it's the kind of café that makes you want to hang out a little longer. Their menu is packed with fun, creative options, which makes it hard to choose just one. I decided to try the drink of the day, "Raspberry fluff" I chose iced with oat milk. It was light, refreshing, and had just the right touch of sweetness without being overwhelming. While it wasn't my personal top pick, I still enjoyed it and could tell it was crafted with balance in mind. Super friendly staff and coffee came quickly. It is tiny inside but offers a few outdoor seating. I ordered a signature latte the Vanilla Bean and had it iced. It came to around $6.30. It was very tasty! They use Monin syrups. I was hoping they made their own syrups. read more

My partner and I googled a coffee shop as we were passing through CT on our way home. I'm glad this is the one that popped up. The inside is small but welcoming with fun mismatched furniture spread out to accommodate individuals and groups. Some of the paintings on the wall have little price tags and are for sale. The one that really caught my eye was already sold but I took a picture of an AT-AT in Van Gogh's Starry Night for my friend who is a big Star Wars fan. My partner and I each ordered a coffee and a pastry to stay and later a coffee each, and a bag of beans to go. I had the Lucky Charms latte and it was delicious. It was perfectly flavored so that it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet or weak in flavor. The pastries were amazing; my partner had a Danish and I had a muffin, warmed up and delectable. My second latte was the Raspberry Almond Crumble latte. This one was also good but I wish I'd had them in reverse order as I'd rather save the best for last. The raspberry crumble was also delicious and again perfectly flavored. The owner was speaking to somebody else in the shop as we waited for our order. If a customer comes up with a delicious latte idea, the shop puts it on the menu under the customer's name and they pointed out The Dario as a customer creation. All and all I wish we lived closer but maybe we can stop in again our next time through the state. read more

Inside, like everyone said, is so cute. My theory that anywhere with mismatched chairs is fantastic holds true! I got a dirty chai (hot with almond milk) just to hang out and read for a bit. It was nice to hang out on a comfy chair and finish up the terrible book I was reading. (The chai is definitely made with a powder mix versus a concentrate, because it was super sweet, so next time I'll just get a coffee....still 5 stars for the vibe and friendly staff). read more

What a unique and decorative little cafe with great personality and a big comfy couch! I love the list of latte flavors they have, plus the variety of pastries available. FYI, their Yelp page shows bagels available, but they don't sell that. I got the pumpkin patch latte, banana foster latte, and blueberry granola bar. Everything was light and delicious. Lattes didn't have very distinct pumpkin or banana flavors, but still enjoyed them because they didn't taste artificial or too sweet. The lattes were perfectly thick and foamy, with excellent caffeine-to-milk ratio. They do have a TV that was loud at first, but they turned it down later on. read more

I've had oodles of lattes and pastries in my time (arguably too many), but Rumors has some of the best of both I've ever had. My mom and I stopped here for a bite on Monday around mid-day. The location is arguably not ideal, depending on your perspective. We were coming from Redding so our trip involved navigating around 84 and then slowly making our way down a busy county highway to make sure we didn't miss it (sometimes I let my Google Maps rest so I can live on the edge a bit). It's a little chaotic but also convenient in that it's a pretty direct route. I also enjoyed the fact that there was an intriguing canine grooming facility right next door though I didn't have the good fortune of encountering any of its customers. Rumors is very cute inside; I feel like every coffeehouse is sort of unique/quirky in the same way, and this was no exception. There was a giant furry spider decoration encircling an entryway to the bathroom, a lending library and - my personal favorite - a TV showing videos of puppies and kittens. The only way to improve it would have been to have actual puppies and kittens roaming around, but I can only imagine the potential health code drama that would ensue. No matter. I ordered their seasonal strawberry rose latte, along with an almond Danish. The latte was perfect - it had the perfect balance of flavor without being too subtle or too overwhelming. The Danish was more than up to the task of matching that performance too. Danishes aren't my go-to pastry; they're often too flaky/crumbly, basically the bakery version of a Nature Valley bar, and like their croissant relatives, often don't have their filling evenly distributed. This had great consistency in both texture and taste, and every bite was scrumptious and flavorful. Despite trying to cajole my mother into getting a latte, she adamantly refuses to drink coffee products and instead opted for a hot chocolate (served in an owl mug that I was pretty jealous of) and a cheese Danish. She enjoyed both and hopefully will be providing her own account of this experience. Great discovery - it's always pleasing to find an establishment that matches (and possibly exceeds) the hype. read more

Have visited this place a handful of times, always ordering regular hot lattes with brown sugar. Baristas are nice, always putting some cool looking latte art that makes me smile while I'm adding sugar. Star Wars seems to be the overarching theme with legos, pictures, and references seen throughout the establishment, but it has more, it's a unique place. There are seating areas where you can enjoy one of their several sweet treat offerings. We sat facing out the window watching both the traffic go by and patrons sip their coffee while enjoying the outdoor seating areas. Sweets look really tempting as do the numerous options for delicious sounding caffeinated beverages. One of these days I will go bold and visit flavor town. Definitely worth a visit. read more

I here to get a coffee. There is no line but the barista's were making a cup for they asked me to wait. I waited about five minutes sitting in front of the register and another lady came in and they took her order and started making her coffee address me at allso after they took hers, I walked to the register to give My order and both barista's continued to make the other coffees, including the new one for the last customer and then an address me at all for about four more minutes, so I just walked out and left and got a coffee elsewhere. You guys should take customers orders when they walk inside or at least address them in order if you are going to ask them to wait. Would not go back here. read more

Customer service was perfectly attentive, the coffee was fresh and delicious, and their wide array of specials are all made with care. The flavor combinations on the specials (I tried the Nonna's Biscotti and The Dario) are outstanding. My friend even suggested an entirely different drink and they nailed that for him, too. I ordered an americano with vanilla and a splash of oat milk. I'm not sure exactly how the owner who made my coffee did it but it was next level good. Whenever I have business at the optometrist's in the next parking lot, I make it a point to come here for a latte and/or a pastry. They also have sandwiches. The service is great and the cafe latte or cappuccinos superb. On fine days you can choose to sit among the outdoor tables. The coffee shop has a good vibe and is highly recommended. I love this place! They always have outlets for my laptop and comfy chairs should you just choose to read. They also have their own games in-house so you and your friends could have some fun while you drink (and/or eat). I always just ask to make me something kinda sweet--one time he made me this coconut latte and it was phenomenal. I only wish they were open later so I could come in the evenings after work! The only downside is that the shop is small, not enough signs to indicate where the shop is. You have to drive slow in order to find it. But once you do, it hard to forget it.
