Hip place that looks like it would be perfectly at home with the crowd in Greenwich Village. I had a chai latte, which was very good. It wasn't extremely sweet like most chai lattes can be (I'm talking to you Starbucks). I'd really like to report that this is a killer coffee shop. But it's...not. In fact, I'm not sure it knows what it is. A community center/new age tchotchke shop/open mic collective? Nothing wrong with that. But first and foremost they present as not just a coffee shop but also a Roastery that should on its face be able to make high-quality espresso based drinks. That is not what this place is. Again I wish I could say otherwise. The espresso I had was awful. Yes they roast their own beans, but their roast-master might need to reevaluate. It's always a mistake to roast in the same room where you serve food for consumption, unless you have exceptional ventilation. So of course the place smells of burnt roast and old bean oils. I drank my macchiato out of desperation for caffeine, but if I had had a morning coffee prior I would've just left it untouched after the first sip. Damn it pains me to say this. I walked in there with enthusiasm. But it just did not meet basic standards. Coffee programs require effort! read more

I'm originally from Fairfield but have been living in SD for years ...& along w/the weather, I really have missed my local coffee shops. This place is it! Cozy ambiance w/crafts from local artists. Roast onsite. They even leave their coffee grounds for those gardeners (very green). So much character! I just moved back to CT a couple of months ago & SO needed to find this place. I love frequenting coffee shops. My girlfriend and I like to spend many Sunday afternoons with our favorite board game (currently, Res Arcana), holed up in a coffee shop for an hour or two, playing and sipping. I have been here twice. The stars are most definitely for the decor and the lovely people working there. You will feel right at home with the colorful, Vermont vibe (if that's your thing-it is for me). They have a huge array of choices for beverages. My girlfriend, both times, ordered a coffee beverage and enjoyed them. I ordered a specialty drink both times-once with almond milk and the other time with oat milk. I'd like to say they were "great," but they were just "OK." The hot chocolate was nice, but somewhat underwhelming. The second time I had an oat-milk based, cold chai latte and it was a ton of ice and oat milk, very little chai flavor. The young lady appeared new, and that might have been the reason, but it was really just "OK." I will go back. I like the place. I'm hoping to discover more that they do well in line with their eagerness to do well. read more

I never post complaints on public forums, but I felt I needed to bring awareness to a situation I had recently at Molten Java. I like to support local business, especially Coffee Shops, instead of Starbucks or Dunkin. This past Friday, I visited Molten Java for a Friday afternoon pick me up coffee. I have had a few coffees from there in the past and have always been really good. I ordered an Iced Latte with Almond Milk and a flavor shot. Paid for my order and went home. Once I arrived home, I had a sip of the coffee and noticed all these floating particles in the cup, which was odd. I have had hundreds of Iced Almond Milk Lattes in the past and none of them looked like this. I tried mixing the coffee with another cup to see if would the milk would mix more. It didn't work. I called them and advised this coffee looked strange and tasted strange and I can't drink it due to all the milk particles. They advised they will put my name on a list and I will be able to get a replacement next time I go in. I was happy with that resolution. I went in today, to get a replacement Iced Latte with Almond milk. I told the barista my experience last time and she advised "that's how the the frozen Almond Milk looks and if you don't like it, then you should get something different." I was a little taken aback by her comment. Why should I change my order because you freeze your almond milk? All other coffee houses, the Almond milk does not look like that mixed in the cup. I just felt like she didn't want to be bothered with trying to make the customer (me) happy and said it's customary for their almond milk to look like that which was shocking. She issued me a refund which was great, however, I did not get a new latte, which was the point of my visit. A refund could have been issued over the phone when I called on Friday. read more

This place is the best café that I have ever stepped foot into. We walked in and couldn't figure out what kind of drink we wanted asked for clarification on a certain type of drink and he offered to make a certain drink as a latte for us such a sweet boy. We went around the café to explore and found jenga, banana grams and loads more. There are also several trinkets that are also available for purchase. How amazing this café is should not go under estimated I will be coming back molten java it will be seeing more of me. read more

Stopped in JUST before closing on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend because I really needed some good coffee. I ordered the Turkish latte (with cardamom!!! YUM!) and it was super delicious. We also purchased coffee bean chocolate candy and a pound of their Burundi coffee beans. This morning (Monday) we brewed up a pot and this is fantastic coffee...a bit bold, rich and full bodied. I appreciated the patience of the young man who helped us. I wish we had arrived earlier to browse a bit. The only downside was the absence of GF baked items though the did offer Kind bars for sale. Great eclectic coffee shop in Bethel. Been here a couple of times now and the coffee is fresh and hot. They have some bakery items, egg and cheese sandwiches and a good selection of vegetarian/vegan items. The inside has two different rooms with tables/chairs where you can drink your coffee. Get your zen on in this beautiful cafe. I am all about spirituality. This place will make you feel at ease with their art, decor, and delicious food and drinks. They have a ton of vegan options which is also great for those who do not eat animal products. At the counter, there is merchandise for purchase as well. Beautiful bracelets, charms, books, you name it. I had the vegan chili and an iced coffee. I love the quiet, tranquil atmosphere of this place.
