Everything that can go wrong...DID, but lo and behold, the venue came to our rescue. Every issue = they had an answer. Our spring wedding here could not have been MORE perfect. We were on a strict budget and Sacred Mountain worked with us to create the most amazing experience that was by far the MOST reasonable out of ALL the other venues we had toured. They were HALF the cost of other venues that were more "central", but eh, we are a very outdoorsy, forest, adventure kinda couple so it only seemed natural to be more in a rural area. Just to start, our vision was always to get married in the mountains. Everything about it captured our happy place. Who would have thought a May wedding would end up with weather in the 40's, a wind warning, storm in effect, fog, gloom...chance of snow and pouring rain oh my! YOU NAME IT! That all sounds like a brides NIGHTMARE right?!?! Well, we actually embraced it because it made for such mystical, magical woodsy photos and the venue had a rain option b plan that came into effect just 24 hours prior to us walking down the aisle - oh boy, did everything change at the drop of a dime but we went with the flow and could not have been HAPPIER. Tip to brides, DO NOT SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF...and it's all SMALL STUFF! The venue was so professional, everyone we worked with was such a gem! The location was a HIT, everyone who attended could not stop gushing over the incredible scenic views. It was definitely the most perfect, magical day in our lives and I would highly recommend this venue for you to say "I DO". PS - I am actually thankful it rained, because without the rain we would have not needed the oh so adorable canopies that come pre-lit. They added such a fancy factor and kept us all warm. You can not tell from my photos it was in the high 30's, can you? he he...NOPE, you can NOT because the venue did everything to keep us comfortable. yay!

My friend/coworker got married here just this past weekend. I don't have a ton to say about it other than the fact that it was a beautiful location. Started on a high grassy knoll with a scenic view in the background. Shoot for a later wedding as the sun was in our faces. Waiting area and reception area were outdoors, but very classy and beautiful. Lots of bugs here though, but I think that's kind of Julian's MO. Good spot. If there's a hotel booking, avoid Julian Lodge. We had a super dirty room.

Sacred Mountain is one of the most unique venues we could have ever imagined. We did a retreat style mid week wedding, renting the facilities from Tuesday through Thursday. This allowed our wedding party and closer family to stay on site with us - a destination wedding even though we don't live far away. Across the three different buildings we had rented everyone had plenty of space in the serene and picturesque mountain landscape. The views from the residence is stunning with lots of natural wildlife and native trees and flowers surrounding you. The nights are so dark you can make out every constellation in the sky. The hot tubs and pools are a perfect way to end the day under the stars. We had our wedding on their summit plateau which gives views of the rolling foothills. Perfect for our sunset ceremony - even the wild turkeys were enjoying themselves. A gorgeous rustic elegance venue that matched our vision perfectly.

Hubby and I wanted to do something special for our daughter's 30th birthday. She loves spending time with the family more than anything else, so a search for a retreat on VRBO, that could accommodate all 12 of us led us to Sacred Mountain Retreat. The pictures on the site, do not do this place justice. With pictures you can't hear the quiet, feel the wind whistling through the trees, or experience the serenity that takes over once you set foot on these beautiful 8 acres. We met the owner at our appointed time and she gave us a tour of all 3 buildings and the grounds. It was better than we could have ever expected. Besides being able to accommodate so many people it was done with great comfort and with many upscale accommodations. It was as if our every need had been pre thought out and met before we even knew we needed it. She knew we had several children in our entourage and had pool flotation devices and bubble wands at our disposal. Sacred Mountain has been aptly named, you feel as if you are on a sacred land. There is lush foliage surrounding the main 2 buildings and pool area. There are hidden gardens, private spots, fountains and wildlife surrounding you. You hear the buzz of a bee in your ear, then turn around and see a hummingbird whirling away. It is magical when you sit in quiet and see everything come out to see you. There is a bird feeder on the main deck which you can fill with the supplied bird seed and watch them all come down to visit. I also bought some unsalted peanuts in town and fed squirrels and blue jays, the kids LOVED watching the wildlife come for a treat. There are 3 buildings, the main house which has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen and a jacuzzi tub. There is the 2 story guest house, that has 2 bedrooms and 2 half baths. Then there is the barn house, which has a HUGE entertaining area, a mini kitchen, a loft bedroom (with multiple beds) and one bathroom. The views from this house are amazing, I kept waiting for bison to come walking across the plains, that didn't happen, but I did see Wild Turkeys with their chicks, rabbits, squirrels, wood peckers and a host of other birds. Every bedroom has amazing bedding, the kind you want to sink into and not come out. Everyone had wonderful restful sleeps the entire weekend. The kitchens have everything you could need, all you need to do is bring your food and your appetite. I even found French Press to make my favorite coffee. The owner is so kind, she had filled bowls with fruit for our enjoyment, she had also supplied potatoes, onions, garlic and a host of condiments and extras. I have never been so pampered by a hostess. The towels for our showers and for around the pool were thick and luxurious and wonderful. She had provided robes in each guest room so that you really feel like you are a spa or luxury resort. The pool is simply amazing. A 20 x 50 ft salt water pool, surrounded by trees and grass. It has an inset jacuzzi and is perfect for a game of volleyball (we brought our own net). The family had a lot of fun playing against each other. There are outlets and lights surrounding the lounge area, so bring one of the Bose Sound Docks supplied and listen to your favorite music, we sure had fun dancing around the pool. The pool has a powered cover which keeps it clean and warm for your use. If you stay out there late at night and leave the pool cover open, you will see bats fly in to get a taste of water and fly off again. This was so exciting, the kids and I would go every night and watch them. Sometimes from the hot waters of the jacuzzi. There are BBQ's everywhere on the property, so you can basically eat anywhere you would like. The biggest problem we had was deciding where our next meal should be. There are dining areas everywhere too. Three dining areas at the main house (one outside), a large vine covered one at the pool level on the grass and another huge dining table in the barn house. We loved visiting all of them. There are beautiful plates and glassware to enjoy your meals on, and lot's of platters and serving bowls to set your food out on. Each meal was a beautiful setting. A few things you should be aware of if you choose to come here, you WILL be driving on dirt roads, you WILL be in the country, you WILL have animals and insects (bring some bug spray and if you are an arachnophobe like me, be ready) to deal with and you WILL be using well water. It is safe, it is sweet tasting and it looks off color. I was excited to find out that the reason it can be cloudy and slightly colored is that it has gold residue in it. The area used to be big gold mining town and some of that gold powder still finds its way into the water system. All I can tell you is that I didn't have to lotion after a shower here, but skin felt fabulous. This weekend get-a-way for our family was the best trip we have ever taken. It gave us privacy and uninterrupted family time.

I got married here on September 10, 2021. Everything was absolutely perfect! I didn't have to worry about a single thing on my wedding day. It was the best decision I made (except marrying my husband haha). They were so accommodating and able to work with our budget. It was everything we could have asked for and more. I 100% recommend this venue!!!

My husband and I got married here April 2nd and rented out the whole property for the weekend. WOW, did we have an amazing experience the entire wedding process. Michelle was our venue coordinator through the 10 months of planning. She was incredibly helpful with information and her prompt response time. When we did a walk through of the venue the month before, she was so patient letting us walk around to thoroughly look at all houses on the property. We had family and friends stay in the 5 houses on the property that were incredibly clean, well kept and everyone raved about how comfortable all the beds were! The day before our wedding the owner, Marti was there with staff helping set up to make sure everything was prepped for the wedding day. Day of our wedding, we couldn't have asked for better weather. Everything was set up so quickly by staffed and looked AMAZING. I could have not asked for a better wedding experiance. Thank you so much Marti, Michelle and Sacred Mount staff!

Oh how i feel in LOVE with this place. Not to far from San Diego. Although feels so far away, such a good get away place. I stayed here with about 12 other photographers, we had a retreat here and the place is just amazing. All houses, I love how many people it accommodates I love the property, so many little hidden gems. The owners and staff were all amazing too! I highly recommend this place and hope to do a wedding out here soon! http://www.byamylynnphotography.com/

Appreciated that there were some heat lamps available during the evening. I will say that there was a lot of confusion randomly throughout the day that seemed to be an issue with communication. After the wedding the couple wanted to have an after party with some of the guests and had some extra food sent to the main house. I was staying in the meadow house and preparing to get ready for bed, when someone came in saying that the after party was at our house. Apparently there was no communication about not allowing food in the main house, which is understandable; however, folks staying in the house were unaware and it was frustrating to hear that the maid of honor was told to gather the food from the main house herself to the meadow house (which is a steep hike in heels, in the dark, after a long day of participating in the wedding). Thankfully the groom came with a golf cart to help her. It just seemed like pretty poor communication and lack of support, which is highly unfortunate. Adjustments could have been made in advance had folks from the wedding been notified. Guests had fun regardless and those of us who were in the wedding party really appreciated being able to stay on property. The amenities were nice (shower essentials, robes, kitchen essentials, hair dryer, steamer, etc) and we liked being able to stay in property. It provided for a lot of great photo ops. It's such a beautiful venue I'll give it 3 stars, but communication could certainly be improved.

She did all the florals for our wedding, plus the arrangements in this photo that we used at our welcome dinner and then repurposed at the brunch. The venue is almost entirely gravel, so I would not recommend high heels or any kind of extreme footwear here. On the day of the event, there was no assistance from the venue or coordinator with setup of the tables, decorations, etc. Please plan to have people there early to decorate/setup/put out plates and silverware/etc. The wedding ultimately happened without issue. We received multiple comments from guests about how nice the venue was. I wasn't incredibly involved with the planning process. From what I've heard, there were some flower arrangements that were spoken about but weren't seen, and I believe there were supposed to be people there to assist with setup but there were not.
