Saddlebags was unlike anything I ever expected. I knew it was a place where people went to line dance, but I really didn't think it was going to be as fun as it was. It was one of my friends birthday and she said she wanted to go out dancing. She has frequented this location by herself on several occasions, so she reassured us it would be fun. So a few of us headed out on a Friday night and after a $10 cover charge, we line danced the rest of the night. None of us had any idea what the heck we were doing, but after a few drinks and shots, we just followed along with the crowd. We had a really great time and all of us can't wait to return soon. The drinks were pretty reasonable and they offered food, I didn't have any but I did notice a booth serving food. From a suggestion of a friend I decided to try their wings at the walk up order window that they've established on the side of the building! The wings had a great flavor but they were overcooked to the point that some portions of the meat was dried out and hard! Also, I lost my receipt so I emailed them twice and called to try and get a copy for my expense report but no one answered and no one responded to the email! We went here on a Friday with a bachelorette party around 8pm. It wasn't crowded, but by the time we left around 10pm, the place was rocking. Be aware there may be a line getting in. There was fun music and the DJ does a great job keeping the room going. Brides ride the bull free, but they really need to get a new bull because what they have is not in good shape. read more

The woman working the door on st pattys day weekend was extremely solicitous and pushy when asking for a tip on an $11 cover. I appreciate all the work food/bev workers (I am also one!) especially those working on holiday weekends of course. Had a friend from out of town want to go out downtown Savannah. We went to Saddle bags around 11:30. We are both previous bartenders in night clubs for over 14 years, my friend was helping with clearing some cups and bottles that had been left on the bar and put them into a trash can, a security guy came and got up in his face for putting them in the trash can because a few fell on the floor because it was over flowing with trash. I am not one to complain nor EVER write a review,but I left this place HAVING to get out of the sketchy environment. I had to leave bawling at what occured with me. Leaving my friends, and getting air was the best decision. Mind you I was responsible, sober drinking redbull or water. I ordered food inside their bar. During this time, two others made orders. I am the only doritos locos order. I spoke with the man taking my order three times and stood very close because a creepy man kept awkwardly cat calling me with no one doing a thing. The restraunt is right beside the womens bathroom. My friend and another woman obviously have a "wtf is going on" look. Out of all the bar top, a grown man was sent to come into the bathroom, and we simply asked what was going on and he did not make eye contact and left quickly and concerningly. We all felt VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. I am still waiting on a doritos...$12 bag..so I can eat on my way home. 20 minutes... I'm waiting literally there. I could not get my order because I did not have my ticket. Somehow..I had all my things but not that ticket. I did not argue with him,but I was baffled. I said I had order 311. Doritos locos. Can't we check the card...MIND YOU THEY HAD 4 OR 5 ORDERS AFTER ME. Not insanely busy, knowing my order has been SITTING. I'd though he'd hand it to me. So I paid for food and was denied, not even offered to review my charges. I could literally show a bank statement from 20 something minutes ago. Had a great time here. They do line dancing so so fun to join even if you have no clue what you're doing and stepping on people's feet. No ones judging. The bathroom situation is very strange. The mens room is right off the dance floor. You have to walk all the way around the bar for the womens. And the sign isn't very big. So you could walk into the mens room without noticing. We had a great time here on a Saturday night from the time we walked in the door--the guy checking IDs was cracking jokes and made us all feel welcomed. $5 to get in and $5 to take your turn on the mechanical bull! I didn't do the bull--none of us did. Maybe next time. They were serving my fave, Angry Orchard on tap, nice and cold and in a big cup. Add a shot of Fireball to it and YUM. They were doing some country line dancing as well as playing some Hip Hop and Pop faves. Had a blast dancing to "Footloose"! Huge dance floor, great music and cold drinks. This was such a fun place to go!!!! We went with a bunch of friends and sadly I didn't get any pictures only because it was so crowed and loud! But I had no idea they had a bull riding ride there!!! You can only go once but some ladies ended up going multiple times which kinda caused problems. Other than that we had a great experience. The bartender did a great job of serving everyone even though she was slammed. The beer was actually reasonably priced compared to other bars. I was standing in a corner taking a video of my friend dancing when a man who worked here groped me (a big grab and squeeze) and proceeded to say 'you backed into my hand' when I turned around - THIS WAS NO ACCIDENT. A completely random person next to me saw the whole thing and stood up for me as well. Except for the racist bartender in the back who was not only drunk while working, but also racist and called our friends rude names. My black friend had to "pay" for girls drinks and assumed that we were with them. We were not. Fun bar tucked away at the end of river street. This place i want to say is 18+ which is nice especially when soldiers are looking for a place to hang after hours. They have a pool table, you can ride a mechanical bull and then there's also a dance floor. They serve drinks as well as your typical bar food. I've been dancing for 12 years now, and worked at a country bar for 4 years and this bar overall was good. The Bar The bar staff was quick with making drinks and remembered what I ordered every time so it made it go by faster. Music They played and overall good mix of music. So even if country isn't your thing give it time and a song you like may come on. Dance floor Good size dance floor BUTTTT people who don't dance linger on the dance floor and for people who drove 3 hours (me and my dance partner) to dance they most definitely get in the way! The bar should not allow people to just stand on the dance floor!!!!! I do have one HUGEEE CON about this place!! THEY ALLOW DRINKS ON THE DANCE FLOOR! We never got to make it through the door. I went to hand the bouncer my very real ID bc im 21 about to be 22 next month. I'm from Michigan so as soon as he saw my ID he goes "5'08? yeah this is a fake ID" LMAOOOOOO like thats my height but alright. We got charged a 20$ cover because a barely popular country singer was playing. We ordered cran vodkas, and 2 of us got charged $7 for nothing but cranberry juice. I spoke to a bar tender who said "oh the cranberry just flows out like that, we can't fix it." Let me tell you I know what a cran vodka tastes like and this was straight cranberry juice. I told the bar tender my friend had gotten a cran vodka that looked and tasted like it had vodka in it. He ignored me. Would not recommend. Surprised this place even has three stars. I wish I could give it negative. The dumb biotch of a 'man' checking ID's at the front door took mine and my friends very real ID's. He hardly looked at them before deciding they were fake. After getting them checked by someone else he decided, "oh oopsie these are real", but didn't even apologize. So he gave 2/3 of them back, but not the third, then proceeded to verbally assault and scream at us when we tried to get the third ID back. I find Saddle Bags to be very hit or miss with me. I have had good experiences here, but the nights always seem to end in drama...I'm not sure if there is some ancient Indian high school underneath it's floorboards, exuding vibes best left at an underage party. Enter at your own risk! For all you Southwestern transplants, do not expect to find any two stepping on this dance floor...it's line dancing, to include hip-hop versions like the Cupid Shuffle or the Wobble, and maybe a cowboy or two who knows how to move. The drinks are good...I seem to recall them being fairly priced. The peach tea drink they have is delicious, but super sweet. Now, please allow me to rant for a second. Why, in the name of all that is holy, would you charge a cover for this place? ESPECIALLY for the ladies. Gents, I know, I'm being sexist, but SRSLY?! I think females should never be charged a cover.
