This was my first time at Octane. The bartender was so nice and we chatted while she made our drinks. They have a full bar, and also a drink menu if you're interested in specialty cocktails. I had a drink with fresh peach. They also had several games on the tables. I don't know if they do this all the time, but it was a fun, unexpected treat! My fiancé and I played battleship. Came in here for a drink at the end of the night in hopes to not spend much money-- we told the bartender to surprise us with a shot of her choice, thinking ya know maybe like $2-5 shots. Well she served us a $9 shot and not just one, but two. We spent a whopping total of $18 on two shots. The drinks were okay, just expensive for a random side street bar. I don't know what it's about this place but EVERYTIME I come here someone (never in my party) gets sick.....I have gone here 3 times and I am never able to stay long because they have to clear people out to clean up the mess. It's always crowed and loud which is fine but people are always in your space and LOUD! They have a bouncer who is in charge of IDing people and making sure nothing too crazy happens.....which it always does get crazy. I usually end my night here get a cheap beer and leave. Tried out this place while in Savannah for work, very tasty and the bartender was very nice. We went during the day time, so it was pretty empty and I noticed he was having lunch prior to us arriving, and I really appreciated that after he made our drinks, instead of eating infront of us, he took his food out of our view and didn't eat infront of us. Alright, so I've put off going to this new bar because it is where 520 Wings used to be housed... Like HOW DARE YOU. But, we walked in this past Saturday and I was pleasantly surprised. This bar is hands down one of my favorite chiller spots to hang out at because the staff is very friendly and they have a great selection of beers on tap and cocktails!! Depending on the vibe you're going for, the upstairs is a bit more lively while the downstairs is good for a chiller hang out spot. Will say that I was surprised by how clean this bar is. Many of the bars in sav can get a bit messy at times however this bar has been a consistently clean environment every time I've gone. My fam loves the signature cocktails, they're so authentic and you can tell the guy who makes them is really into his craft. I highly recommend y'all check out this place!! One of the best bars in Savannah!! As soon as I walked into the bar, I was greeted by the owner and i got such good vibes! You can definitely tell that the bar is very well put together and super clean! They had a lot of beers to choose from and yummy cocktail drinks as well. I tried the Peach Harvest cocktail drink and it was AMAZING! most bars that I've been to in Sav tend to make their drinks super fast and they don't put too much thought into it, however, the bartender at octane made my drink the right way with the perfect alcohol to peach ratio. I highly recommend this bar! Another thing that I really enjoyed was the fact that there was a downstairs as well which was a much chiller vibe. Had a terrible experience last night at Octane when the bouncer there broke my ID in half trying to prove it was fake but I've been to Octane multiple weekends prior and never had a problem. I also had friends already inside of the bar at the time I find it idiotic and very rude that this man was convinced my ID was fake as I saw him the week prior. I respect the managers for coming out and apologizing however, what happened last night was uncalled for. After my experience I wouldn't dare go back there and the biggest issue of all is he didn't even apologize he just through me $20 thinking it'll fix the problem. I can't say enough good things about this bar. The atmosphere was great for middle of the day and I was recommended a local beer that reminded me of home (Central FL). Bartender was personable and was one hell of a mixologist. He served me up an old fashioned that put many to shame. This is a new bar. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly. The owner is always on site and very friendly. We have come back twice and would definitely make this a regular stop when we come downtown. Everyone should visit!!!
