Food was excellent. Sat at back as it was very noisy and was there for late lunch. Pool tables and bar towards front. Dance floor and stage at back but they were empty as it was daytime...no band etc. Some people with very loud children decided that the stage was a playground and parents did nothing and management told them that it was fine even though the noise disrupted meal for myself and friend and others. Not just loud but screeching loud at top of lungs loud. Felt like the manager could have handled the situation better as the children were being loud but not at the table that they were sitting and no apologies were made to me or my friend for the inconvenience. Both myself and my friend had ordered the most expensive meal on the menu and sat in the back on purpose so that it would be not so loud and manager should have told the parents that children were being disruptive to others and let them disrupt their own table...not mine. Regardless of this we enjoyed the food and left the waitress a decent tip as it was not her fault but the manager could use some customer service training. I realize that families are allowed but it is also a bar and dance hall and not a children's playground. Not kids fault either but parents might have been more concerned about childrens behavior if they were not as worried about their party / beer drinking being interrupted...take them to McDonald's or have them behave as any other restaurant would expect read more

This was our first trip. We have driven by a lot and I always thought it was only a bar. We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I feel old when I say the music was a little loud so it was hard to talk but the customer service and food was great. I need to go back soon so I can try some of the other items. Dive Bar Alert! Dim lights, dark wood, fresh wood shavings on the floor. Loud Country western music booming from a flashy juke box. A raised stage and most likely a dance floor for the next line dance marathon. Sports on every one of the 10 big screen TVs lining the walls. 3 Pool tables. A smattering of lubricated locals lined up at the bar. And apparently in no rush to leave. A contingency of real cowboys (I know this because they were wearing real cowboy hats) moseying in from the parking lot. And last but not least, a genuine corral to "park" your horse while you stop and wet your whistle. Folks. Welcome to Norco. What's not to love? Especially if the kitchen doles out some good grub. So then, here comes our highly anticipated order: Mild white fish in a beer batter. Soggy but actually great tasting. Did I detect herbs in the batter? Good, moist, white fish, probably cod. Better yet, who made that fine tartar sauce? A square of jalapeno cornbread, slathered in melted honey butter, gosh darn it! Thick cut fries, perfectly salted for my taste, but soggy not crispy. Ah well, they really were great tasting. And then, there came the " big as your head", 1/2 lb black and bleu burger with thick cut bacon and blue cheese crumbles. And a big pile of those tasty fries. This used to be the favorite go to lunch spot via horseback with my trail buddies!!! Not so much anymore, unless you wanna eat outside in the smoking section or sit on the pool tables! I really miss the booths up front by the windows where we could enjoy the sunshine, a beer, food and watching our beloved horses outside. Very disappointed in the new seating arrangement! It is horrible! Not very feng shui in my cowgirl opinion. Please bring back the good old days seating arrangement!!! This place used to be great. The service the last 4-5 times has been TERRIBLE. It takes forever for someone to come up to the table. SS is like our favorite place to go! To us it totally represents what Norco is, but these last couple of years it takes longer and longer to get any service. This last Saturday we waited over 10 minutes before I finally went to the bar to ask if we could get some service at our table, and it still took another 10 minutes to get any help. There was one person behind the bar and only one person waiting on all the tables. How can you expect to keep your clients if you don't take care of them? Many of our friends have started going to other places because they are frustrated with the lack of service at SS. We don't want to see you fail!
