    Trujillo's Shoe Repair

I've gone to Trujillo twice this year and will definitely go again for future shoe repairs. I've…read morerecommended him before and will do it again. He listens and asks questions, does fantastic work, the time waiting for repairs to be done has been under a week in my experiences, and I was satisfied with his pricing. Please note I didn't receive an estimate for repair costs but paid when I picked up my shoes. The first time I went in was July 2012. I had a pair of Steve Madden fashion boots I purchased from a Payless store in Iowa that previous November. Within 5 months of continuous wear, the soles were coming of the shoes from the heel and the heels themselves developed holes that definitely fit the 'eaten away' description. I took the boots to Trujillo and he gave me his honest opinion-he would do the best he could and to please come back in five days. Five days later he handed me my boots and I was amazed at what he had done. The soles looked (and pretty much was) brand new, he even improved the heel to prevent the 'eaten away' deterioration, and glued together the inner sole saving the original look. Cost was $20, which seemed under-priced considering all the work he did to salvage my boots. I've continued to wear them with the same constant frequency and I couldn't be happier with the repairs made to my favorite shoes, the heels still look like new. The second time was in September 2012. The boots were No Boundaries brand leather cowboy type I had bought at a yard sale and was told they hadn't been worn. My problem was after wearing the boots a handful of times the lining began to tear off (heel to top) and became worse with every time I took the boots off. Trujillo again told me he would see what he could do as he doesn't usually repair linings. The next week he showed me he had stitched the lining to blend as much as possible with the original stitching and glued down part of the lining. I was impressed with his work, they went from looking like a small cat had taken its time with them to looking wearable with all-original lining. Cost was $20, I'm very satisfied with Trujillo's consistent level of repair work.

I love this shop so much. I have a disability that affects the shape of my feet, and I have always…read morehad an awful time trying to find shoes. When I was a kid, my mom would offer up $20 to the salesperson who could find a pair of shoes that fit, didn't hurt my feet, and that I liked. So when I got new orthotic insoles recently, I was prepared for more of the same. I decided to give Heel to Toe a try because I saw that they also do orthotics, so I figured if anyone could help, it would be these folks. They did not disappoint! While I didn't find anything in the store that day, the staff was so incredibly helpful I knew I had to buy from them somehow. They took the time to measure my feet (turns out they're wider than I thought), talk to me about my issues and what I wanted, look in the back for overlooked shoes, and then finally brought me manufacturer catalogues so I could order them. They knew which shoes would be likely to work and which wouldn't, which saved me a ton of time and frustration. I ended up buying two pairs of boots, and they both still look and feel amazing. Thank you, Heel to Toe!

When I asked for the exact name of the Dunham Cloud I was informed also that she "wasn't going to help me shop somewhere else." In doing so she insured that after that last pair I would only shop elsewhere. They undoubtedly assume I would buy somewhere else and never come back. They are not the store I remember.
