The owner was so nice. My reins broke in a jumping lesson earlier today. I showed up 15min after the shop closed, she let me in anyway and I found the perfect reins to jump in for tomorrow's ride. Great stop for a wide variety of equestrian supplies on consignment, as well as some items new. Good mix of both English and western tack. Have purchased a wide variety of things there from saddle pads, girth, polo wraps, halter, and more. If you like cranky and cold, this is the place for you! I was told to stop touching a saddle because it hadn't been inventoried yet. How was I to know? Yikes. I've also called to inquire about stock, and I was told they can't check the brand of every saddle. It seems like inventory process isn't their strong suit. And this is why people turn to eBay, unfortunately, and tack shops continue to disappear. read more

However, as an adult, I've found that the owner is beyond arrogant and rude, the items are far overpriced and dirty, and the customer service is subpar at best. Great place that has propped up the dwindling horse community and brick and mortar tack stores in sonoma county. Used tack plus a few new item essentials. It's great to be able to pick up good quality used tack and save some $ without compromising quality. Also they are very fair regarding their saddle trial policy so u don't get stuck. My only complaint is the customers. We are a small community and we should be propping each other up, not publicly gossiping like middle schoolers. I have twice had the uncomfortable experience of having to overhear inconsiderate, needless insults of people I know. read more

This is quite a place! There are dozens and dozens of used saddles of all sorts. I saw a dressage saddle for $250 and a fancy western saddle for over $2000. I'm just a horse husband and haven't been in a saddle in 30 years but I know a good place when I go there. My wife loved the prices and selection. read more

The old owner was a total flake. I had the hardest time collecting our split of the consignment sale! Then she sold it and Michelle bought it. ... and with Michelle came a whole new aura to the place. It's much nicer and very welcoming; it's PEOPLE friendly now. Michelle also gets new stuff in and takes special orders. Something the OLD owner wouldn't follow through with even if you held a gun to her head! Saddles To Boots caters to both riding styles; English and Western, and Michelle and Rhonda are very nice and quite helpful. They help fit saddles and boots and everything in between! I stopped by for a random visit and was timely indeed. There, sitting on the counter, were a pair of women's cowboy boots. Now these weren't just ANY cowboy boots - these bad-boys were FUCHSIA! I live in the Bay Area and make this a destination whenever I go north up 101. It is easy to get to going west on Hwy 12, the people are friendly and helpful and have a great selection of interesting items, lightly used and new. DO NOT GO to the Website, see below. DO NOT GO to the Website. It was from the former owner and the current owners cannot take it down although they are trying.The website is a known trojan and malicious software site. Somehow it was taken over by a bad hacker. I found some muck boots that actually fit and were broken in for 1/3 of the original cost. I found most anything I wanted and enjoyed not paying full retail for things that will look lightly used by my own use in a couple of weeks. read more

Ive brought a couple friends here and they have scored as well. The ladies always make me laugh and are always helpful. If they cant help, chances are another customer hanging about the shop can. I really like this shop - horses are a hobby to me and while they can get super expensive this place keeps it pretty real. Don't put your tack on consignment here....I tried to sell all of my tack here (multiple saddles, girths, bridals, etc, etc, etc. definitely over $1,000 if it had all sold) and never was called about it after dropping it off. Turns out I have $12 in my account, and all of my tack has been donated. Bummer. read more

I have found some great deals there and try to drop by whenever I'm in Santa Rosa. As a local horse person and trainer I like to shop the local horse stores and support them and also encourage my clients to do the same, but this store is so EXPENSIVE!!! They are a second hand store yet still sell all their merchandise at full retail price or even higher. Went to buy a few things and ended up going home and placing an order online instead because it would cost me $40 less. Really a bummer that I can't say I will support or spread the word around for this store. read more

I used to love this store when I was younger, I remember things being reasonably priced and having good service (Back in 2009), however I went back just the other day and had horrible service and almost all their saddles were over priced... The woman on the floor asked my seat size and then proceeded to tell me that I "was wrong and should be in a much bigger seat." ( I ride in a 14 and she said she I should be in a 15-16, keep in mind I ride barrels and am rather small so I really need help staying in.) I think this place is great for the little things like halters and brushes but I recommend Martins or California horse supply for better service and prices... read more

I went to saddles to boots for my first time a few months ago looking for a saddle, blanket, bit and bridle. I walked in the door and everyone behind the counter just stared at me. I brushed it off at first thinking they might have just been busy at the moment, but I was there looking around for about 30 mins at least and no one ever even asked if I wanted some help. I never went back. The prices were waaaay too high as well. I was very un impressed with the whole place. Especially the rude staff. read more

Excellent customer service! Some things are better to buy in-person than online. I almost purchased a too-short girth and too-big hoof boots and they caught my mistake by just asking a few questions at check out. Then she walked me back over to the racks to see if we could find a better fit. They even allowed me to use their cardboard and scizzors to cut out a tracing for the hoof boots to simulate a rigid hoof better than my piece of paper. I really admire them for caring enough to help me make the right purchase, for being knowledgable about the products and walking me through evaluating the potential fit. I wound up keeping the hundred bucks and not spending money on the wrong size girth and boots. When it comes to fitting the horse and rider, the online deal can't compare to a live person with stuff you can handle and measure. I trust them and I highly recommend Saddles to Boots. read more

I was an avid collector of Breyer horses in the late 80s- early 90s and I always hoped that I would find vintage Breyers at flea markets, but never did. I thought this place was great. I spent about 4 hours looking for a saddle and a few other things and left with four saddles to try and the Wintec measuring thingy that the shop let me borrow. I ended buying a $1200 (new price) dressage saddle for $350. I liked saving the money. The staff was helpful, I made an offer on a saddle, staff person called the owner and the owner accepted. This place also has tons of blankets! I don't blanket, but like to have one around for cooling a sweaty horse on cold days- cost me $20. Love this place. If you buy a saddle online, if it doesn't fit you have to pay return shipping or possibly spend a couple hundred having a saddle fitter make it fit. So glad that this place here. A great way to support fellow horse people, small business and stop unnecessary manufacture of more saddles. read more

Highest consignment fees ever. 30% right off the top. No wonder their used saddles are way overpriced! Also, if a saddle is not sold in a while, it will be "forfeited". They will not call you to tell you to come and get it, they will just keep it and put it on ebay. I was looking for a rain sheet and saw a few that sell brand new on line for about 30.00 tagged used a 50.00. Ridiculous. read more
