The staff at this location are super friendly and knowledgeable of their adoptable pets. I also appreciated the fact that kittens go home to foster families until they are adopted and are only at the East Hartford location on Saturdays by appointment only. Ivy's foster family even provided the most adorable card, heartfelt note, and Ivy's favorite toys to bring with her new home. I rave about this place to family, friends, and coworkers anytime they ask about Ivy. I strongly recommend anyone who is ready to take on the next step of adopting a new member of their family to do so with Protectors of Animals!

I adopted a puppy from Save All Dogs Rescue. They told me she had kennel cough but that I could pay…read morethe adoption fee and leave her there while she was treated for the cough. The vet only comes on Tuesdays so I waited and was told she was not cleared to come home. This happened three more times, so I had paid for a puppy but didn't get to bring her home for an entire month. She was finally cleared by their vet so I brought her home. She was still coughing. After a week I called my own vet who was able to see her quickly. They said she had pneumonia and I needed to bring her to the Emergency Vet right away. The ER vet told me if I hadn't brought her in she would have likely died. I know someone else who adopted a puppy from them and their puppy also had kennel cough which ended up with pneumonia. In my opinion Save All Dogs rescue is nothing but a puppy mill. They charge an exorbitant fee for puppies that aren't spayed/neutered or even healthy. They just want your money and have vets that will sign off saying the pups are healthy when in fact they are not. If you are going to get a puppy please do not go here. It'll end up costing you thousands in addition to the adoption fee. Go to a local shelter or legitimate rescue that adopts healthy puppies.

I went to Petsmart and the volunteer greeted me with: "I was told you'll probably keep me here longer than necessary." So right then, I wasn't going to adopt from these "crappy women," insulting me prior to a visit. Then I went online and read awful past reviews. The price tag for adoption isn't a fair amount. (She told me she renovated her kitchen) I went to Newington Humane Society, filled out the application, with normal humans, met with a cat, who came off the chair and put his paw on my foot. "You want Michu, he picked you." Absolutely I am elated with my adopted cat Michu. He's sleeping next to me as I write this.

Lacy was very anxious but not only did they take their time, they were so kind and truly gained her trust. I just brought her for another nail trim & a Lyme disease vaccine (several months later), and Lacy was not shaking this time. They were again patient and loving towards her. I will be bringing her again for her second Lyme vaccine next week. I recommend PAW very highly. They will love your pet and are in this for the right reasons.

Their application process starts online on their website. Applying there first and then bringing the printed approval email makes everything go smoother. Once I figured that out, I got the bonded cats on my return visit very quickly and now, about four months later, the two cats are doing very well in their new home. They're healthy, had no problems at the vet check-up, and will be celebrating their two year birthday in August.

I thought I could go see some to prepare myself for when I am ready. The Dog House in Manchester is a puppy store. They have a large inventory of the cutest, little puppies. They are actual babies at only 3-4 months of age. These puppies came from certified breeders. They claim all puppies come ready to go, with up to date vaccinations. As soon as I walked inside The Dog House I was greeted by hundreds of super fluffy and super noisy puppies. The lady named Iris handed me a puppy to play with, long before I asked for one. They are all so very precious and little. Some are more timid and others are spitfires of energy. It made me sad to see their water bowls were totally dry. My pup was drinking water till his very last days. I can't guarantee they are treated well. I would love to home all of these babies. Not this time for me.
