Kimchi

Found this little spot, the parking is in the back but maps will take you to the front. My fave part is they also have pickled radish and cucumbers, most Asian markets don't. Best part, it's super yummy and authentic compared to store brands!!

Fresh homemade kimbap ! Yum!

Came in one hour after they opened. Fresh KimBap just came out. Grab 3 right away. Shopped for Jjangmeon, topokki and pastes. I will try their fresh kimchi radish and kimchi cucumber. The store has a variety of mostly Korean and Asian must haves. Today is Friday and maybe they will be stocking up soon since there is only one of the one I want to get. Fresh meat products ? I did not see it today or maybe they don't really carry it. Relatively clean store and organized. The cashier is very friendly. Wow, just shared Kimbap with my daughter in the parking lot. Very yummy and really light. Two of them are pictured here since we ate the other pack.

I love this lil market so much! They don't have a huge variety, but they always have what I need. I get my BCD tofu packs, some produce, sliced pork belly, and blue swimming crabs (to make korean marinaded crab) from here. I've also really enjoyed their fresh and prepared food: kimchi pancakes, japchae, and banchan- pickled fish cake and radish. also a side note- they take EBT

My wife came home from work one day extra happy. I asked her how her day was and she responded, "I had kimbap for lunch! " I knew she didn't pack that for lunch so she proceeded to tell me that on her lunch break, she found a Korean market that sold kimbap. Every now and again, I get Korean cravings too (not as much as frequently as my wife though because she's into BTS) so my wife took me and her mom on a Saturday. Hidden in the same parking lot as Joe's Sushi, Saet Byul Asian Market is a very humble mom and pop shop that has Asian essentials such as ramen, noodles, dumplings, nori, soy sauce, mochi and Korean goodies like banchan and kimbap. There were only about three aisles and a small section with fresh vegetables. The rest were refrigerators carrying meats, noodles, drinks, banchan, desserts, and Hawaii goods (like manapua, Portuguese sausage, poi, and Lau Lau). The prices were decent and my mother-in-law made a comment that it's better to have this Asian mart than to have no Asian produce in the area. The next time I'm in Riverside, I'll probably stop by here for a quick snack or treat.

5/5 to support small business and because I'm thankful for any and all Asian food I can get in the IE. It's a small shop in a weird spot but fun to browse. They have all sorts of ramens, sauces, and snacks. Meat and veggie selection is pretty minimal. I picked up some kimbap though and a bcd soup pack. Also 10$ min for cards or they'll charge you extra for using card!

Kimbap! Freshly made.

It's nice to see a local Mom and Pop Korean market that serves their customers, even during Covid-19, when we're making more meals at home. Normally, you have to head over to East L.A. or the O.C. to get your Korean grocery fix. But, this is a decent spot to grab your essential Korean grocery list items. The store itself is really small, but offers all your main goodies, including Ramyun packets (noodles), condiments, frozen items, produce, meat, fresh Kimchi selection, and some ready-made Kimbap, which is like a Korean version of sushi. It was pretty tasty! See picture. The prices here are reasonable, just maybe a little bit more than your local Korean chain supermarket. Selection is much smaller also. But if you just need a few items, this is a good store to come and support. Parking and location of the store is at the back. They accept cash as well as cards here, so you're covered! Shop local, Yelpers!

I'm not sure if this is a Japanese/Korean store. They have Kim chi, pickled radish all the little side dishes. Even frozen Kbbq in the back and other marinated meat in the back. We found some great dipping sauce for shabu.

inside

There are many dry seasonings, paste, and noodles to choose from. When I went, there was enough korean veggie staples availible. However, there was not much of a meat selection but that's probably because they are a small business, so I was understanding- just be sure to call beforehand if you're looking for something in particular. I def recommend the kimbap, if you're lucky there will be some by the cash register for sale. it's priced well and tastes great. The workers may not be fluent in english but just be patient and they are more than willing to help. The ambiance is regular for asian grocery stores.
