I invested in a safe home security system back in July of 21. In September, I started getting a low battery alarm from the panel. I called customer service and they reset the panel from their end and the battery worked fine again until February of 22, now it's non-stop beeping to alert me of a low battery again. The company wants ME to pay them $40 to replace a battery that they sold me that did not last 3 months. Either pay $40 for the battery or add $10 a month to my two year payment plan for battery coverage, $120. This company apparently is into selling crappy equipment in order to sell the customer a rip-off battery insurance plan OR to have the customer pay $40 every 3 months to replace the panel battery. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE. read more

I have contacted the company's customer service several times to cancel my account and get the payoff amount, but to no avail, they haven't sent me the information nor have they cancelled my account. I get the email about them receiving my request and I also get the emails from them saying that the case has been closed. But when I called to ask why I haven't received the payoff information, they say something is wrong with my email address. "Sir, I have received multiple emails from you already, so how is that possible?" Today, I have sent my 9th message to have this account closed and to get the payoff information, so they can get their money. But I guess they don't want it. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I have tried several times and for several weeks to get a technician to my home to repair several issues in my security system. I am promised time after time that someone will call to make an appointment, and no one ever called. I have been a customer since 2019 with absolutely no service. If I could give them a ZERO star rating I would!!! Horrible horrible service. They called last year to do an upgrade to our control panel. They swapped out the board. After they left, the system quit working. A year later, after several tries, it's still not working. To tell you how bad their service is, I disconnected the panel a few days ago. They didn't know it had been disconnected. A few months before that I got a call stating the monthly rate was going up. They emailed me a link to keep my current rate. I opened the link and it was a document that needed to be signed to lock the rate. It only showed me one page with my current rate and a place to sign. The guy on the phone didn't say anything about a 60 month contract or a buyout clause. Still waiting for a supervisor to call me back. It's been 4 days now! read more

Terrible Company.... Wife's 93-year-old Aunt used this service. One year ago, house was sold and they were notified. They continued to collect fees via auto pay to a credit card until I found it in March and called them. They still demanded more money. I stopped the auto pay. They started repeatedly calling the poor lady for more $$. I called them and told them to stop. If they were monitoring the property, they should have noticed there was no connection, yet they never called on this and they still wanted money. Poor lady died this week and I am still fighting with them. Stay away!!! There are other better security companies out there. Obviously with these folks it's just a cash grab. read more

This company has not been monitoring our homes since Verizon went to 5G unless we upgrade our system/software. They did not tell us this until January 19, 2023. Of course they've taken our money. We canceled January 6, 2023 and now they want us to pay through June 2023 for a serve they can't provide if we don't upgrade. I don't think it's legal to charge a customer for something they don't receive. Stay Away from this fraudulent company!! read more

DON NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS COMPANY! I have called 4 times and sent 8 emails to cancel this service because we are moving. I received a letter today stating that I have another 11 months on the contract and that a 60 written cancellation notice is required prior to it auto renewing. To get out of the contract before that point I am required to either pay it off or provide proof of sale of my property. I finally got them on the phone and let them know that I would stop auto payments and file fraudulent charges with my bank. They informed me that they would send me to collections. We've been with safe home security for about 13 years. We just renewed for another 5 years. First, what I don't like- they lock you into a contract- don't like that at all.'Second- if the alarm is having issues and not working properly you often have to wait several weeks for a service appointment. This defeats the whole purpose of having a security system. What if we have a burglary while the system is waiting to be repaired- I guess that is on the homeowner. The positive thing I can say is that Chad, our technician is knowledgeable and gets us up and running with great customer service when he does come out. That is good. Over the past three years we have had multiple problems with Safe Home Security. Principal among them are problems with service and billing. The service issues have taken the form of false reports of entry while our alarm system was on. At least four times in the past three years we have received reports of the alarm being tripped; each time we were out of town and each time it turned out that equipment failure caused the false alarm. Since we were outside the US, we could not rush home and resolve the issue; instead, we had to rely on the goodwill of neighbors to enter our home and shut off the alarm, either by keying in our code or by pulling the plug and disconnecting the battery. In 2019 the problem became so irritating that we asked SHS to inspect the system; we'd already paid in excess of $120 to replace the backup battery. After multiple attempts to reach customer service by phone, we finally sent emails that got their attention. Their technician told us that the existing equipment was too old to repair and that new equipment had to be installed. However, he added, we could not get the new equipment unless we signed a new 3-year contract. We signed the contract expecting that the previous problems had been resolved. (That occurred in October 2019). Everything went fine until June of 2020 when once again we received alerts as to unauthorized entry into our home. There were three separate false alarms from June through October 2020. Each time we were out of home on vacation and we finally had to return home to literally unplug the alarm system (again). After these issues, we decided to terminate service from SHS, only to find that we could not cancel without paying an enormous penalty. The billing issues have to do with the fact that SHS's customer service representative has informed us that we must pay 90% of the remaining 23 months in order to cancel their service. It should be noted that SHS does not answer calls to address billing issues. They routinely kept us on hold for more than 10 minutes before a recorded message tells us to leave a message and "someone from customer service will get back to you right away." Of course, that doesn't happen. Finally I was able to link by chat with someone named Taylor Traboldt, allegedly a customer service manager, who explained that we would be charged and that there was no recourse for handling the matter. In our view, the cancellation fee is monstrous and abjectly unfair. We live on a fixed income and the only thing we want is to have a system that works when we are out of town. We gave SHS the chance to fix the system and their solution did not work. Now, in addition to providing inadequate service, they insist that we must pay an enormous amount just so they go away. read more

Experienced, for the 2nd time, a bill from the LAPD for a false alarm called in by this service, which failed to contact me so that I could have canceled the dispatch! Tho I had given this company my cell phone as the first number to be called, they called my home first, which was useless in the middle of the day when I'm at work. They claimed to have called my cell phone next, which I never received and was not in my call log or in a voice mail. And lastly, they called my work answering service, but apparently hung up when hearing the recorded message, which would have allowed them to have a live operator call or text me! read more

They said they would now accept cancelation because it's within 90 days of the 5 year contract end. They said they would continue to pull the amount out of my account until 8/18 anyway. I have used this company for years and years. I renewed my contract in 2021. I did not read it (my problem) not was I made to understand. My husband passed away last year November 2023 and I needed to move in with my daughter and her husband. When I called to have my service disconnected I was unceremoniously told I needed to pay off 90% of my existing contract 1,600,00 or move the service. My daughter can't use it. I never gave this company my information or credit card number. I called to cancel the service that I did not request and ask for a refund. They requested I send a letter to cancel service and will not refund the charge. I have been a customer since 2019 paying $45.99 monthly. On 11/25/23 another company showed me they could give me the exact same security for $20.76 monthly. They had me write a cancelation request & ask for a pay off balance so that their company could pay off my contract. I mailed the cancelation request the next day to Safe Home. Since then I have tried contacting them to only get voicemail. I have emailed them but never received a response. January 2024 I finally got a hold of them. The girl kept giving me every reason why I should stay with them. I asked her, would you stay if you could get the exact same thing for more than half the price? She said there was no way we would get more and went on and on. She admitted they received my cancelation request BUT it is to early to cancel, I can only cancel 30 days before my contract is ending!! She then said she had a meeting to go to but that she would call back & get us all straightened out. Instead a week later a very rude woman called telling me I WILL NOT be getting a pay off amount sent to me and I WILL CONTINUE to pay the $45.99 monthly through December 2024. She does not care that I now pay 2 different companies. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! I am also now reading reviews where Safe Home renews you without consent and continues to bill you even after you no longer have a contract with them! This is a horrible company. We've had a couple of false alarms that they admitted was the result of their outdated 3G technology, and the Los Angeles PD charged us $330 for the false alarm call. Not only did they not reimburse us but they refused to let us out of our contract. They are also trying to charge us $26 because our credit card expired - every other company I know will send a notice asking for a new credit card. The one time we actually had an issue with security they sent police to the wrong address across town and we discovered they were servicing the wrong address. This company is a nightmare. Years ago I tried canceling them only mom's behalf, and instead they talked me into a longer contract in exchange for two new keypads at different entrances. Fine. But then they canceled two appointments to install it. When they finally showed up, they only brought a battery and not the two keypads. They said it wasn't in the order, so they'd have to come back. The person in charge of scheduling all this was "Deja". Long story, they never added the keypads and they missed so many appts that I stopped caring. A few years pass, and I try to cancel again. They gave me instructions on mailing a letter to request the cancelation. A week or so passes, and I lost the address, so I called to get it again. Instead of just giving me the address, they again pressured me into not canceling. Years pass, my sister calls to cancel... same deal. Can't cancel. Finally our mom (whose house it is) began hospice in 2020, and I call SHS again to cancel, saying that we'll be selling the house soon. "Keenan" says ok. I ask him if a letter is needed. No later needed. Just one more payment and we're done. But then... wait for it... three months later, my mom has died, and we're still getting charged. I just got off the phone with them. I spoke with "Dana" who told me that I needed to send a letter and buy out the rest of our contract. I asked her why their deceased customers need to continue paying. Apparently it's in the contract. I asked for a copy of the contract. They said no, not until I send them a copy of the death certificate, the cancelation letter, and the buy out payment. All the while, Dana was cold. No sympathy. No understanding. No effort to fix the problem. She -- like everyone before her -- made every effort to thwart my needs and just kick the problem down the road. I'm done. I'm done thinking about them, talking to them, dealing with them, and writing about them. They are a horror to deal with. It is a comfort (and no surprise) to see I'm not the only one who has these problems with them. How they got away with this for so long, I'll never know. Do not do business with this company. After being with Safe Home for 2 years, I found out that my city has a required permit to have an alarm installed in your home, which my installer as well as Safe Home never informed me of. Last month my alarm was triggered and the police were dispatched, I was then hit with a $230 fine because I don't have a permit. I would expect that Safe Home would want to retain their current customers by covering this cost, as it is their responsibility to inform customers about these permits, as well as keep the permit numbers on file. If they see in their system there is no permit number on file they should be calling customers and informing them about this. I was offered $150 credit ONLY if I sign another 3 year contract with this company. What a joke... I will be paying this $230 fine myself and then finding a new monitoring company in March when my contract is up. Do yourselves a favor and go with a different monitoring company. I want to give Negative grade! don't do any business with this company, and don't come close to them starting Feb 2020 our alarm system was getting insane charging it self when we were at home, start alarming for no reason (even when it wasn't on) and so on. we called the company to get it fixed - it took a month, they send some one who said they cannot fix it and they will send replacement after another month of false alarms we called again and again the same guy came with the same answer! at that point, he disconnect my alarm system completely. since then, after dozen call to the call center, we finally got a new system but no one came to install it!!!! it is ridiculous, we are trying to talk to some manager there, but we get no where. we are trying to get service and it will be only in a month! and they refuse to pay me for the months i got no service. i really wish i could break in the middle of my contract with them, but afraid it is illegal (if any one knows different please let me know) i never give such bad critics, but do your self a big favor - don't do anything with that company!!!! read more

This company is HORRIBLE. They failed to install my additional keypad, my door sensors were not working and my motion detector was inoperable however I was billed monthly without prorate or credit. The company would only give me 2 months of credit if I agreed to sign a contactor for several more years of service. I called for nearly 2 years and only got the issues temporarily resolved after leaving a bad Google review. Then within 30 days the sensors and motion detector stopped working again. PLEASE DO NOT sign a contract with this company. They have horrible customer service, poor quality products and do not value customers AT ALL. Additionally, if you formerly dispute charges with them and do not make a payment for the disputed charges they will notify the credit bureau in an attempt to ruin your credit rating. read more

FRAUDS! Save your time and money. I had their system prior to them being bought out. My alarm was always being tripped by something; police would be showing up all hours of the night. The installers should have been my first sign not to partner with this company as they were grumpy and beyond unprofessional. I am still being charged after ONE YEAR of emails, phone calls to them stating I no longer want their services. I still have yet to receive a response from anyone. Safe Home Security's best talent is up-selling. In my case I was up sold a new alarm system for which I paid the installer at the time of installation. Because I signed up for direct payment plan, SHS not only withdrew the monthly service fee BUT ALSO the cost of the service (which I had already paid). In turn this improper withdrawal caused me to miss a mortgage payment. I called my representative (Ambrose Gates) at least 10 times without any response. When I finally got ahold of accounting they assured me that the remittance would be made that day. It wasn't and my attempts to call the accounting person (Tiffany) went unanswered. SFS customer service is poor at best and I do not recommend them for any business relationship. read more

I was a customer for probably 10 years. It was ok service but I did notice that the maybe 4 times over 3 years the alarm was accidently tripped it took them several minutes to call. I'm writing this review because I've seen the other comments regarding difficulty cancelling. I called to cancel and was told to send a cancellation notice in writing which could be done by email. I did that and got an auto reply back seeming to suggest that I need to provide them the new homeowner's details if I was selling, or my account would not be cancelled. I wrote them back and told them that I would not be giving them anyone else's personal details. I asked to please do as instructed and cancel my account as I have no active contract and I'm under no obligation to do anything but inform them I'm cancelling. I then get a regular mail notification saying that I needed to call them regarding my account. Around that time I saw that they had billed me again. Long story short from here. I contacted my bank and put a block on any further payments and requested a refund on the most recent payment that occurred after I cancelled. My bank investigated and I got the refund. I called them again tonight to make sure its cancelled and they say it is. We'll see. read more

Safe Home Security fraudulently charged me for a guard dispatch that never went out -- then when I attempted to call their billing department, they told me I'd have to call my "town" and dispute it with them? The bill came directly from Safe Home Security, not my "town." I live in a big city (Las Vegas), and that's not how it works here. They are attempting to charge customers additional money and get away with it -- an absolute scam. On top of that, the billing service agent was beyond rude and literally hung up on me when I told her I would have to dispute the charge with my bank.
