This company truly defines the term "dirt merchants". Don't expect any form of customer service from them because they will always find an excuse as to how they're not liable. Had called several times about service and the video camera system installed and they had stated that it was the responsibility of the "local installer" they subcontracted through, which they no longer do business with. When the 3 year period was starting to come to a close my cell unit had failed and they said it needed to be replaced. I had specifically asked if there would be any cost incurred by me and the lady on the phone said no. When their guy finally came out, after a range of excuses as to being late, he put a new contract down in front of me and said that they wouldn't install the new cell unit unless I signed a new 3-year contract in which the monthly rate went up. When I promptly told them "nope" he said he would contact their customer service rep and get clarification...I never heard from them again, even though if there was an emergency they would have no way of knowing since the cell unit had failed. I contacted them again and had inquired about the term and monthly fees, but she had stated that they don't have a copy of the contract so they wouldn't be able to confirm. Since that was their last opportunity to sway me to continue being a customer, I eventually scheduled to have my service switched over to another home security company. I had called them to cancel service, but they said it had to be faxed in writing and they would send a cancellation notice. A month later I received a new bill for the next month. I call up their customer service again to ask about this and was told that according to the contract (which they conveniently couldn't find previous times) that I am locked in for another year of service because I didn't cancel within their window. So apparently I will be paying them for absolutely nothing since they are no longer monitoring my system; although it seems I had been paying them for nothing for several months anyway. If you want a zero liability company completely lacking in customer support and prefer excuses instead of results then SHS is the way to go. If you want a quality company then please look elsewhere. It should be noted that I use an application on my Android phone called Mr. Number which crowd-sources phone number information, so if an unknown number calls you it can at least tell you who the number might be. SHS's call center number was automatically blocked by that app every time they called because it was marked as Spam by numerous other users. That should give you an idea of the level of quality they provide. read more

Worst customer service team, they make Comcast look like a model company. We have had them for 12 years, automatic renewal after our initial 3 years. They automatically sign you up for 5 years. Now we are moving to a community that has their own monitoring service so we needed to cancel. We called multiple times, there customer service team repeatedly informed us that all we needed to do was send them a copy of the closing documents and we are all set. Now after waiting a week with no response, I called back and received several people who kept transferring me to different departments. I finally reached the cancellation department and they gave me a $2500 dollar cancellation fee. I even told them that the new homeowners were going to renew with them they did not care. I will now be removing the system and informing the new homeowner to find alternate security systems. Just hurts that we still have to pay this horrible company. read more

This company does not deserve any stars; if there were 10 negative stars, that would not be enough! This company claimed we had a contract with them for security services, that they had taken over for Security One, another security company. Our mistake was that, rather than ignoring them, we asked for a copy of the "contract" which we never received. Meanwhile, we failed to notify our bank that had been paying Security One for Security One's service, for several months after we cancelled their service. Once we discovered that Safe Home Security was making unauthorized withdrawals from our bank credit card, we reported Safe Home Security to our credit card company, and the bank also asked them for a copy of the "contract". When no contract was provided, Safe Home Security was no longer able to charge our account. Instead, they continued to bill us and charged us for "warranties" for equipment we don't have, and for services we don't use, and now they charge us late charges for not paying for their erroneous and fraudulent charges. This has been going on for more than a year. I have called them and notified them by mail of their error and tell them to stop billing us for what we do not owe them, but they continue non-stop. One of their collection people actually called me at work and threatened me. It seems like there is some way that I can end this harassment, but nothing I have tried has worked. It is impossible to cancel with this company. When I signed a contract it was with Alpha security system. All of a sudden I was switched from Alpha to Safe Home. When I called numerous times to cancel they said I signed a five year contact. I only signed 3 years with Alpha and all of a sudden I had two years added on. I tried to cancel about a year and a half ago and they said I still owed money for my equipment. I brushed it off and stayed with them, well when I tried again this year they now claimed I had a five year contract.. Mind you they were charging me for equipment I didn't have; I wrote an email like I was told and received about a month later a letter saying I couldn't cancel because I was in contract with them. I called and told them they didn't have my permission to charge my account and they said they were still going to due to my "contract" with them. So, I went to my bank and immediately stopped payments to these people. Apparently they are going to send me to collects if I don't pay. I'm going to speak with my lawyer about this. I only wish there was an option for NO STARS!!!!!!! We unfortunately signed up with Safe Home Security last month and it has been a nightmare since!! First off, the equipment we were promised was installed incompletely and we have had a problem with a sensor since the beginning! We Have called more times then we can remember in trying to rectify this problem and were promised that a technician would come to fix the problem. We waited on three different occasions and the tech was a no show each time. I tried texting and calling the sales representative who sold us the system and he stated that he would help us with our problem. It was a lie each time! He name is Kelly and I could post his number but will wait until I call the Bureau of Consumer Affairs. I am lodging an official complaint with the way our agreement was handled and will continue to work until this is rectified!! I have called numerous times to get the money returned to my account without success. I have not been able to perform my daily financial functions because of your theft. I am a senior citizen and live on a fixed income I have scheduled payments due and they will have insufficient funds because you stole this money from my account and have lied to me repeatedly about returning it. Danica promised me three months free service, but this will not cover the $45 overdraft fees for my checks that will bounce because of your theft from my account. I do not owe any amount but monthly payments. I have not been given any good reason for the theft of my funds. I will request that you remove my banking information from your system and I'll send you a check in the mail. This company Safe home is beyond TRASH. How do the managers and employee sleep at night knowing the ripping people off of their hard earn money. Safe Home you need to close down or reform your company policy. Do you see how many negative reviews are on this page. All of them are negative. If your company was doing good how come none of them post anything positive about your company? Yet your manager said they are people are paid to post negative reviews. This is not a paid negative review. I am a pissed off customer along with everyone else on here. You need to make a list of banned customers to provide service to ADD ME TO THAT LIST. You install faulty alarm that keep going off, the cops go to my house, and because its a faulty alarm the city is billing me. It's not just once it's multiple times. Too bad there is no negative star rating. I first started dealing with Safeguard Security to transfer over my existing ADT systems (four in total) to what I though was Safeguard Security a local company. I should have realized something was wrong when the tech showed up at 3 out of the 4 locations with the wrong panel ! Now in hind sight I find Safeguard sub-contracts to install the system, then contracts to SHS for the monitoring, and SHS sub-contracts to Rapid Response to monitor the system. Try to get answers and you get bounced around. And whatever you do, do not give them access to your credit card number. I set up 3 of the accounts I had to be debited from my checking, the 4th I requested billing on which everyone agreed. Then they hit my AX for the monthly billing and I did not even authorize this. I should have stuck with ADT. Now I am stuck with these jerks for 42 months. I have had to send them certified letters telling them not to auto-renew and to not debit any checking account or credit card. Stick with someone who does the install and monitoring all in one, and run from this company, the horror stories are right! read more

You can't blame a company for the actions of one salesperson, but you can judge them for how they handle the situation when it is brought to their attention. My elderly parents were pressured into switching companies when they still had 6 months of pre-paid service with their old company. The terms of the contract were not what they were told nor wanted to accept. I contacted Safe Home Security and spoke to a very kind young lady. She took time to listen to the situation and was trying to help me. Unfortunately, she did not have the power to terminate the contract so she referred me to her supervisor. I left messages for 3 days for the supervisor with no call back. So I climbed the organizational ladder and found a director of one the departments. He called me back within 12 hours and took time to look up the account and understand the problem. He advised me to write a letter and send it directly to him. The following day I received a call from the local company that did the contract. It's not always easy to unwind a contract but after some conversation - which was all polite and professional - they agreed to terminate the contract. I am very impressed with the customer service of this company. After reading all the complaints before making my initial call, I thought it would be a nightmare. I am pleasantly surprised how quick this was handled. I would give customer service 5 stars, but the supervisor never called me back. Thank you to all that assisted me. read more

Safe Home Security (Security Systems, Inc) is charging me for terminating a 60 month contract that I never signed. Their service tech claimed the system was transferable and the service itself was transferable, but neither is true. The service tech put a hole in the wall of my residence prior to any signatures being on any contract which makes the system a permanent fixture and not transferable. The contract also was signed by someone other than one of the two homeowners which is against their policy and all work should have been stopped when neither homeowner was even present. The service tech was also aware this residence was a "flip" so it was getting sold withing 2 months of the time the system was installed which would make it completely senseless to sign a 60 month contract for 2 months worth of service. This is when the service tech assured the system was transferable and the service was too. The new homeowners wanted the service, but the service was not transferable like was promised so they are probably trying to double collect off the same system and the unit itself had to have a hole punched in the wall for installation although it was "wireless" which made it a permanent fixture so the unit was not transferable either. read more

Terrible company! Our motion detector in our "Security system" is going off every 2 hours. I called and spoke with a NON-service rep, who told me the system was showing a low battery in the motion detector and I could change it myself. First, she told me it took 2 AA batteries and then she told me it took a 3 volt. I can't tell you what type of battery it takes because I couldn't open the battery compartment because it is JAMMED SHUT! And then these con artists tell me they can't get somebody out here until Thursday! I posted this nonsense on their Facebook page. Their response was to remove my post and block me from their page. Obviously, they don't want people to know that they ARE NOT accredited by the Better Business Bureau and they've already been sued! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! This is an absolutely INCOMPETENT business! I have had an account for 7 years and not only had a technician call to tell me he couldn't show up at the last minute, after I had taken vacation to be there. Then a second time, I CALLED to confirm the install. To my surprise (not really), there was no install scheduled. To add to the insult, they actually talked me into upgrading my contract from 34.95 to 54.95 and waived me for one month. They ALSO did not inform me of my options. I was told that this was a 5 year contract. I was NOT told that this could be a 3 OR 5 year contract. Then I was billed the first month after being promised a waiver of the first month. This company does nothing but lie and generate a bill. DO NOT sign a contract with this company. I have seen absolutely no proof that they do anything except automatically bill your account. You will not receive phone calls or invoices, and you WILL be automatically renewed at the end of your contract if you do not call them to cancel it. I cancelled my contract in April, 2014 following the guidelines provided. 15 months later my checking account was fraudulently deducted in the amount of $794.50. Law Enforcement was notified, my bank as well as SHS. Once I contacted SHS representative (Kira) confirmed the contract had indeed been cancelled and the deduction had been made. Said person stated a request would be made to have the deduction refunded and she would follow up with an email. I'm still waiting on the email. I spoke with several other representatives; Christa (referred me to Tiffany x1504). I called Tiffany 2xs, left a message both times- no response. I spoke with representative Krystle, she attempted to contact Tiffany or Tiffany's supervisor no one was accessible to help me with my situation. Someone called from this number 860-262-4000 and stated the CFO will have to make the final decision on the refund (voicemail). I received a visual voicemail from Tiffany today and she addressed me by the wrong name. So who was the message for me or the named person? Something is seriously wrong with this company and I will not recommend the services to anyone. Enough said, whomever willing STOLE my money will loose more than he/she stole. I have no heart even to rate this company. Awful service. We had service for almost 10 years. I have been trying to close my account for the last three years, year after year I was unsuccessful. Unless the company receives a cancellation letter at least 90days priority to the contract end, it automatically renews in March of each year, . But interestingly one year I called 60 days, wouldn't let me cancel because it is less than 90days. The other year I called in July asked me to pay cancellation fee for the remaining months on the contract. Here I am in the third year, making an attempt to cancel. But this time I sent a cancellation request e-mail in January. I don't get why I still receive phone calls regularly asking me to make payment or that they would report to credit bureau. For almost a year the alarm used to go off every single night. I woke up with palpitations not knowing if it is real/fake. I had cops come over several times. I had been in & out of contracts several times before whether it be TV, etch, but never had an experience like this. Worst in my life time. read more

Absolutely the worst Co I have ever dealt with. I had a 3 year contract with them 34 month in I decided to go with ADT Security, I sent in a cancellation notice to stating I did not want to renew my contract and I fulfilled my agreement with them. After looking at my bank statement 4 month latter they keep taking out the money, I called them and told them I sent in a cancellation notice stating I did not want to renew it, I was told to send a new notice to them and they would take care of it. 3 More month go on and I notice there still taking money out each month, Again I called them Again Sorry we never got a cancellation notice in righting from you, But we do see on our computer you requesting it verbally. I was told sorry it to late now we have to do 1 more year at this time, meanwhile I'm paying ADT also. I had to call my bank and get the fraud department involved with it. After showing them all the information they agreed with me and Charged back Safe Home security. So now Safe Home is still charging me and is saying id I do not pay them they with report it to a Credit agency. How convenient they do not get my mail. Called Attorneys general office and have filled a complaint, But I was told I was not the only one with the same situation with this Co. zero stars for safe home security!!! this is the worst company i have dealt with in the past 5 years. their business practices are misleading and shady at best. my contract ended in december 2016 and i called today to let them know that i have switched to a new security company and the representative informed me that my contract automatically renewed since i did not notify them 60 days in advance of my contract end date that i did not want to renew. so now i have to pay the $39.99 mo until december 2017. this seems ilegal and certainly unfair. my contract was signed 6 years ago and i was expected to read the fine print to know that i could not get out of the contract that should have ended in december 2016. that's just crazy! the service through the years has been terrible and i seldom received calls when my alarm went off. when i called to find out why and they always had some lame excuse as to why. plus, i moved to my new house 3 years ago and they forced me to remain in my contract until it was ending in 2016 or pay them $2500 and yet when i called today they did not have my new address or phone number. they claim that since i notified the local office and not the corporate office they wouldn't know because their computer systems do not talk to each other! what??????? that's simply crazy! run from these people if they ever contact you for a security system. they are horrible at best. i agree with all of the other negative posts on this site as they all have the same theme..lies, rudeness, can't get out of your contract when it actually ends because the fine print states it automatically renews. all a bunch of poor business practices. read more
